Hello. I've made many baskets, and I find that working a slip stitch or crab stitch around the top edging gives it a nice finish. It also adds to the rigidity of the basket and won't get stretched out. 😊
Sabrina, you teach so beautifully, instruct so clearly, do not too fast. I do really understand how to do this now. Being on disability and bored, I've been trying to crochet something and have been very frustrated and going through so much yarn with mistakes. But you've helped me. Thank you so much!!! I have subscribed to your channel.
Hello and welcome ! It is so good to have you here, I hope you will enjoy my channel and videos. I am glad this video was helpful. I can totally understand how bored you must get at times, with being disabled, but really glad this tutorial helped. I see you have some videos on your channel so I will subscribe and watch some videos :) Sending much love, hugs and yarny things :)
Can't wait to get started! Such an easy to follow tutorial and you don't chatter too much, which is great so we are more able to concentrate on the basket! 👍😃
Thank you so much ! I am so glad you like this tutorial and that it is easy enough to understand ! Yes, I do try to minimise the chitter chatter as, I also find it irritating when people just keep talking and talking, if I find myself doing that, there is a reason and I will always do the time stamps in the description box so that you can easily skip such moments ! But I am super happy that you are following this tutorial, I would love to see your finished item ! (You don't have to send a picture if you don't want to), wishing you a lovely weekend and lots of yarny things :)
Hi Sabrina, I like the way you tell so easy and naturally and funny too! This is the first tutorial that it isn't "robotical" telling. I hope to see more tutorials of you. I have now made a begin, and I'm wondering how my busket is gonna be. May I send you the picture after is is finished?
Helloo and welcome ! Just responded to your question and now reading this lovely comment from you, thank you so much, I am glad you like this tutorial. I am working on other tutorials right now so I hope you will enjoy them. I would LOVE to see how your basket looks, yes please, feel free to send me pictures ! My email address is in the description box of the video and all videos. I really look forward to seeing it :)
Awww thank you Patsy ! wow, I hope you will show us the baby blanket and the shawl ! Would definitely love to see them both ! glad you like this tutorial, sending much love :)
Hello ! Glad you liked this tutorial. I am so sorry for the late reply. Yes, I am sure this can be easily adaptable to do a rectangular basket, would you like me to look at that and perhaps write some instruction or would you rather have a tutorial maybe ?
Hello Nicole ! I am so sorry, only now I am getting to my computer, I have found an email from you and I will reply later on this evening, I hope that is okay, but on here, with worsted yarn, if you use one strand, I would suggest a 4 mm or if you can a 3.5 mm. If you use 2 strands together, then possibly a 5 mm. The tighter the stitches are, the better, so make a stronger fabric for the basket, you can make the square as small or big as you like, you just need to make all the increase rounds that you need :)
Again me, one question about the 1st corner. I have to make 2 stitches first, and after the row almost will be end, then when I have to put the 2rd stitch. But can't I make the 3 stitches at the same time? If no, is there a problem to make that this way?
Helloooo ! So, for the first corner, my suggestion is to do 2 sc in the first stitch, because when you come back around at the end of the round and add the final stitch in that particular first one, then when you join with a slip stitch, you are then ready to work in the middle stitch of that corner. But if you want to do the 3 stitches instead, yes of course you can, you do your 3 stitches and at the end of the round omit doing that last stitch I spoke about just above, slip stitch on top of the first stitch and then slip stitch in the next stitch so that you are ready to start in the middle stitch of that corner. I hope that helped ?
Hellooo, yes, I will be writing a pattern for this and when it's ready, I will post it on Ravelry. Don't worry, I won't make you wait too long, when it's done, I will post an update with the link to the pattern :)
FANTASTIC ❤️ thank you 😊 Main reason I ask is I find Ravelry is great for keeping patterns in one place, rather than having many different websites, videos and pages saved. I mainly learn from videos, but usually a written pattern is very helpful when I cannot access a video.
@@007vix I understand. I also have a HUGE library in Ravelry, I love finding all my lovely patterns in one place. I will let you know as soon as I have published this pattern on Ravelry, thank you for watching :)
Hello Rabia ! When you get to the end of the round, you just need to close the round by slip stitching in the first stitch of the round. Hope this helps.
I am so sorry about that. Perhaps if you have any questions, put them here or in an email, I'd be more than happy to reply and see if I can help ? Thank you for watching.
It is really stichwise like a granny square, if you have made any granny squares. Maybe look up how to make a granny square and then try this again, it may help understand stis a little better! ❤
This is the best looking square of any of the other tutorials I've tried. Thank you!
Wow thank you so much, this is such a wonderful compliment, I am just glad you like this tutorial 😘

Would it be better to use 2 strands of 4 worsted weight cotton? Or one strand and a size 4 or 4.5 hook? I need a 6x6 by 7 inches high. Any suggestions

It doesn’t look strong and sturdy. How can we fix it
I think you can always use a smaller crochet hook, it will make it more sturdy, you can also add plastic canvas or something similar inside :)
👍🏼
