I like Mexico too for the great resorts and better food. I did really enjoy Cuba when I was there and it was a very interesting experience to get off the resort and see Havana and learn about the countries history on a tour.

Cool new intro! Great video! I got married in Cuba so it will always be a special place for me but I agree - the resorts are 3* at best compared to the value you get in Mexico.
Thanks! It's the first video with the intro and glad you like it! You are right about the star rating in Cuba a good rule of thumb which I didn't mention in the video is that you can pretty much cut the star rating in Cuba in half to get a more accurate rating compared to Mexico. Thanks for watching!
I pre-booked the Tropicana show but the bus never showed up. Even the tour operator and the hotel front desk could not get them to pick me up. I can only assume they could not be bothered because I was a solo traveler.
Prefer Cuba for 7 to 10 days. I loose weight from eating less and walking more, prefer the beach and safety. No mosquitoes in Varadero during December. The people are easy to talk to, more Canadians. The fact that the resorts are not top notch and internet is absent makes this an ideal spot. No sitting in the room watching TV and no smart phone/laptop distraction. The beaches are incredible where I spend most of the day swimming. If I feel very hungry, downtown Varadero has Lobster and other food varaties. The supermarkets downtown sell sparkling water and snacks for cheap. It's just all I need.
I would always choose Mexico over Cuba from what I hear and your video just confirms this. Food and resort are important to me so sounds like the value is better in Mexico.
I live in Roxboro Quebec not far from YUL my home airport and once the quarantine rules over I would like to go to Mexico visiting Chichen Itza. I heard the food in Mexico is better than in Cuba.

Can you link both Cuba/Mexico hotels you prefer?
Barcelo in the Mayan can't be beat for the price. Nothing around the hotel though. So big you don't need to leave the resort

Huatulco and Puerto Escondido are good places to visit too. Both have great beaches and good resorts.
