guru: "also its quite embarassing, people touching your feet."
louis: "yeah, i could get used to it."
"It's quite embarrassing". Wise words indeed oh master Guru.
Someone once said to me, 'Embarrassment is internal arrogance' + 'Fear is at the base of arrogance.''
77777aol I’m confident of my capacities but I don’t really understand this
B3T4M3
Well embarrassment is when you think people are seeing you as less than you see yourself as. Arrogance.
Arrogance is thinking your abilities greater than they are. One could interpret that as a fear of being inferior.
@@goodvibesonlydude Be conscious of your body and mind next time you FEEL embarassed. I think embarassment and fear, may be our concern for what others think of us; that in itself is a psycological weakness.
Reading the comments here feels like looking back in time. I hope you all are doing well wherever life took you!
I'm not one of those but I just want to say that something like this... It is special and it makes my belief in people even stronger... I wish you loads of ♥ ☀ ✌️ 🍻 ♥ from 🇮🇪 and let's meet up in a decade here 😂
Looks like hank from breaking bad managed to get away from the nazis after all
Oh BRILLIANT a couple more series of Breaking Bad..........I'll cue Netflix.
The only path to enlightenment is Hare Krishna. Ain’t that right Gomey?
Hank reincarnated into a guru. I think I found the plot to the next Breaking Bad.
"how many vibrations can you take?" lol
I've asked my gf that a few times.
The blind leading the blind...
The blind leading the blind?? There eyes are way more open then the masses of brainwashed
he is prob more awake than you'll ever be, louis is not asking any important questions, missed opportunity
Natty Games I just happen to know that some of these Hinduism guys live in a state of pure ecstasy and bliss 24 hours a day, while we "normal civilized" people spend life crying over stupid things and have no control over our body and minds
Judging by accent, Dutchman with a sound recorder at 2:05 telling a dodgy story.
Haha 100 punten, wou ik ook gaan zeggen xD "de spirritjoe-ol masters saunt vaibreesjen.."
Louis theroux is my favourite documentist, hes great! underrated if anything.
Louis has a great sense of humour 😂😂😂
"I could get used to it" haha! Louis' one liners are classic!
For a Guru, he’s certainly well fed.
He is getting older and can't exercise as much. Leading and speaking is exhausting everyday.
utter bollocks … he’s got a secret Mc Donald’s that he visits on a regular basis… probably when his underfed devotees are sleeping
I always find myself laughing like hell throughout one of these documentaries. It's not that I am laughing at the insane shit that goes down, it's that laughing at Louis because of his demeanor and patronizing questions.
This reminds me of "Life of Brian" it seems that people want to follow religious figures regardless of whether or not they *want* to be followed. This guy seems like he's resigned to the idea of people treating him like a deity... "why do they follow you? You've got to ask them"... "it's embarrassing". I dont see him asking to be followed around with an umbrella, or to be recorded. Much like "Brian", you try telling people like this "I'm not the messiah"
I think the guru enjoys deification, it’s a choice he made. However, unlike his followers, he is concerned about his image on camera and he feels a little awkward being interviewed
The Guru's reaction on 2.17.
Priceless :D
The dude who threw himself on guru's feet really needs to get a grip on reality instead of feet.
Touching the feet of someone you respect/revere is quite common in Indian culture. e.g. Grandkids do it to grandparents. So its not too surprising to see that Indian-looking guy do it to the guru.
i really wish Louis make new episodes ,,,
My dad went to high school (SJNMA) in Wisconsin with this guy
No one noticed the gold rolex on the guru's arm?
ISKCON does not discourage having wealth. You can make as much money as you want as long as you don't get consumed by it.
2:18
"Excellent" smiles for instant and then hides it
"Let's UH I'd like to show you the campus" looks down and rubs back of head.
All those middle class white women
Something about middle class white women from places like brighton that love eastern gurus
@@FuckdasketsHOPassass lol so true i lived in brighton for two years. A lot of weird people there.
Louis's awesome!
intersting talk about energy vibration. The thing is you take on energy even if you dont touch anyone.
"i could get used to it" haha legend
Very good and desirving
These people used to hang outside the mall and chant all day in Pittsburgh, as kids it was funny to ask them what time it was because they would stop the chanting and give vague up for interpretation answers.
ISKCON and HAREKRISHNA 's are that special people endowed with, glorious, supremely noble values and bringing peace, love, service, oneness of humanity, kindness, compassion to the entire humanity. It is all written on their faces. Hare krishna's are blessed souls with harmonious living, seenity, peace, love and transcendental. Hare krishna's are building a new world with peace, progress, prosperity and make this world a better place for all to inherit. SANATANA DHARMA (HINDU) &ISKCON are synonimous.
chanting is a very good meditation practise!
2:00 oke wasnt prepared for that heavy Dutch accent hahahaha
Bangin all of them.
I found it interesting that when Louis asked the "guru" why the people were following him, he said, "I don't know". That pretty much summed it up for me.
Dozens of sheople are born every minute.
I’d like to imagine he was just walking around Hare Krishna’ing when all of a sudden a bunch of people started to follow him around
Seems very uncharitable. To me, he was clearly just being humble and giving the floor to someone else to speak
"are they bowing to me or to you"
silence
"....oh, just kdding."
ive always liked the haris, i read the taste of life as a little kid and krsna was like, my pin up kinda thing.i have read a lot of their texts but they are sexist it has to be said. i dont like this aspect but the special thing is they feed people, n encourage vegetarianism. i will always love the haris for what they do, they fed me and my mother, and many friends, when they needed. they are essentially good. i respect this. hari krsna hari rama, you guys always make me smile
I dislike them and many guru sects/cults, because they tell you to seek wisdom through the guru, which leads to people worshipping the guru directly. They may publicly say they don't want that and preach that it's bad, but the whole religion is set up in a way so people do it anyway. Plus I dislike any religion that teaches you to be and do good because it will bring good back to you, because it basically teaches you to treat goodness as transactional. It's no better than paying money to a shopkeeper so you get something you want back. They're not feeding you because it's just the right thing to do, they're doing it because it earns them a higher, favoured state of life. It's good in the sense that obviously something good gets done, but if you only do good because you get something back that's not really very sincere.
He is still, after all, human!
He reminds me of Bob Fossil from the Mighty Boosh
Very nice
Is this a parody like seriously ...
how can anybody even take this guy seriously
Lmao ikr, he's literally actively mocking/questioning his own followers motives. And it just fuels then more, it's literally Monty python life of brian
The guy is like a modern day Forrest Gump, no earthly idea why people are following him..........................
@krish108 : I agree that those who call themselves gurus, where ever they are to be found, must meet the strict criteria of spiritual life with all the various rules and regulations. If someone in such a position fails, then they can no longer be looked at for guidance and should be punished depending on the degree of fall down.
@panamanubian : These people have a very high self esteem because they understand that they are the servants of Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. They also understand that they are not this body, but are in fact spirit soul, so don't worry about their self esteem, instead worry about your own spiritual advancement. Please read the Bhagavad Gita translated and commented by Srila Bhaktivedanta swami.
I like Krsna devotees, sure it seems a bit crazy but they don't go around preaching hate like some other religions and sects, quite the opposite.
I've spent many times hanging out with them, just chilling ...not my cup of tea but I like to know they're around, they do nothing but good IMO.
You're absolutely right but there's one potential problem with it that this quote by Voltaire sums up: ""If we believe absurdities, we shall commit atrocities". If a religious doctrine grows large enough, it's only a matter of time till it will be corrupted. People who so firmly believe obvious nonsense and treat other humans as deities are very easily controlled; you can justify any action to them with their religion.
What an ignorant statement have you not seen the atrocities Hindu extremist commit. They kill people for eating lamb
in my country, new zealand, the devotees stop you in the street and try to talk to you about hare krishna, show you books and stuff which is fine but the negative thing is they ask for donations for the books and what not, they even carry eftpos machines. If someone wants to believe something go ahead but its distasteful to air it out to people just going about their day, save that for the temples or people who are searching for religion.
I bet they make a killing.
the power of religion at is finest....
Why are these people following you 'I don't know'.
He's like a modern day Forrest Gump, he has no idea why people are following him.....................no idea at all.
"How many vibrations can you take?" Hahaa
Ha ha ha ha Is "Hahaa" is what happens when you have so much laugh to get out at one time it all trips over it's self on the way out.
@mamoodh This guru was gravely attacked a number of years ago (I t hink it was in the 90s) in an airport in Spain by a disturbed person. After recovering in the hospital, his weight increased and he has stayed heavy.
chanting can be a good practise. it has served me reasonably well. it helps me to let go of things which otherwise i cant let go of. thats how it worked for me.
HH JAYAPATAKA SWAMI MAHARAJ JI ki jai
the guy in blue with the sound recorder must be Dutch :) weird accents we cloggies have..
Yeah, I thought he was British for the first few seconds, and then, as he went on, I realised he sounds Dutch.
"I could get used to it"
Lmaooooo
1:10 Gordon - the magic word to open umbrellas in india.
keep your vibrations for yourself.
Absolutely nutty all of them I am a Hindu and believe me it’s all nonsense
Does anyone know the song that is playing around 20 seconds in?
When Srila Prabhupada (the guru who brought this spiritual knowledge to the west) was in New York, most of his initial disciples were young hippies who used to take intoxicants - which they gave up after embracing spirituality. I believe your comment may have been linked with the above
Taking drugs is not part of Krishna Consciousness - in fact it is considered a hindrance to spiritual progression.
"I could get used to it..." ahahaahah
Why can’t I find the moment when Louis meets Amma the hugging saint ? Does anyone know ?
For sure, I was thinking the same thing.
@mrhellwung1
Jayapataka (aka Gordon John Erdman II) seems like a nice enough guy, and according to the Wiki page he was a dedicated follower of the founder, who combined the hard work of organizing, building temples, printing books, teaching agriculture to the locals, leading pilgrimages and of course, preaching. A true guru.
However, this kind of devotion that surrounds him is unnatural and unhealthy, and caused many of his colleagues to go off the rails into corruption.
hank schrader came over his anxiety
the human brain is amazing !
dutch guy with the tape recorder lol
grz.

A fellow Dutchie. Mad as a bat though.
Coen Pietersen Fellow Dutchie here. For some reason, all the spiritual Dutchies are always bald, long, and named 'Peter'.
at the end
LOUIS; "i could get used to it"
Oh you kinky boy Louis ;)
I like the shirt
I could get used to it! 😅
TRUTH IS MINERALS MARIE
Jay Jayapataka Swami!
"Everyone has the same spiritual needs." Think about it Louis...spiritual knowledge is beyond the mundane mindset.
This reminds me of the mad men episode
how can i be a guru,is there an application form i need to fill out ?
Man its interesting to see how easy the mind can manipulate itself
"i can get used to it"
i think i could take on a few vibrations
If I ever went there I would just walk right by him like "what's up bro"
Guru simply means dispeller of darkness. He's not claiming to be an enlightened being. Just an advanced and devoted practitioner of Hare Krishna IMO
So many cults in the world, I feel sorry for the ‘disciples’… something missing in their life so they’re drawn to this stuff. And the ‘Gurus’ that get off on the sense of superiority and people inflating their ego. It’s pretty sad really.
How many vibrations can you take?
to all the skeptics: did you see the full doc? where at the end louis (the biggest skeptic) got a hug from amma the guru?
no?
i rest my case.
experience is knowledge.
+MrMW2013 yes but a guru will teach you to find and stay in that bliss/nicefeeling without the guru and Obama won`t because he likes the attention and needs it to keep his position. you heard the guru here talking about losing his privacy. for him it is also nothing but surrender but he knows the connection with god is the most beautifull thing so he gives his time without hesitation and surrenders to his disciples.
That's what I was thinking too. I also feel like Louis is sort of absorbing the emotions of the other people there. The people think Amma the Guru is a pretty big deal, right. So I feel like Louis perhaps starts thinking it too subconsciously, just for the fact that all the people around him are thinking that. It's more environmental. I don't think these feelings Louis got at the end of the documentary came 'naturally'.
That;s an awesome comment! Classic! LOL
Wise Guru Gordon
Looks like high confessor tektus off fallout 4 far harbor
Its L.RON 2!
Or more like B-movie L.ron hubbard.
🌌
what he meant by not wanting them to touch his feet because it projects their vibrations on him was that if he is looked upon as the source of holiness, then they won't associate it with the real thing.
2:10 dutch guy!
"I could get used to it" NOT
perfection Louis
"How many vibrations can you take?"
Said in complete non-ironic seriousness 😆😆.
(Although I get his point also).
Uncle Hank?!

Dammit, they're mineral Louis!
Damnit, was going to write the exact same comment.
