I think the rune is pretty usable in some situations, but like what Rat said, I think it should give you at least something else after completing it. Obviously not something major that makes it OP, but just SOMETHING.
Maybe something like collector/triumph additional gold per kill after completing all 5 bounties?

@@Nour-b1r Its hard to compare with the CD runes, but 550 gold is easily worth 45 out of combat MS depending on champion. No rune gives you extra after getting 5 stacks, it is good how it is imo. You can basicly choose the passive as you can purchase whatever you want. The only point when it is in fact useless is at full item
+1 permanent gold from creeps for the rest of the game like cull or if that's too bad maybe something like a half TF passive

i thought so too but the issue is that supports dont need to spend gold anyway,they can have no items and still be useful,and if theyre gonna take hunter rune then relentless/ultimate is better

This morning I managed to get two kills in an invade and got noonquiver by minute 2 and that pretty much was the sole snowball for me to do well that game. So like this Rune is possibly the best in the game if you get lots of kills within the first 10 mins and use it to power spike dramatically before anyone else does and have the ability to abuse it. However as is pointed out you simply lose a rune spot for that single gamble.
be a very good rune if you can successfully do an early invade. get 1 or 2 assists and +300gold on back before minions could snowball so much

@@DefyingBlade that makes no sense. most meta adcs dont go lifesteal for their first item which just changes bloodline, which in late-lane up to start of midgame is -3% lifesteal but +100hp. you need to deal 3k+dmg in a fight for the lifesteal nerf to make up those 3% lifesteal. assuming the adc buys botrk or shieldbow AND bloodline (most dont though as i said), this would be 5% lifesteal.
in the worst scenario you lose 5% lifesteal but +100maxhp, which means you need to deal 2k dmg to break even. though as i already said, almost no adc goes lifesteal item first/2nd AND bloodline.

For champions who took ravenous hunter but didn’t have too much value from it (like Diana mid, some akali/kata players) the rune actually is really good. Shit even adc that use HOB rune page benefit from this since the others (relentless & ult hunter) are no where near as useful as an extra 550g for an otherwise meaningless rune slot
@@siz9024 I personally will take constant game value over slightly better snowballing. I rather actually be able to get said kills because I can roam better or have my ult faster or survive because I have zhonya's more often than get like 170 extra gold in the laning phase or something and then get the rest when we teamfight at which point I will already get plenty of gold and the full value of the other runes just from killing their team

Rune is probably underwhelming, might be good on champs that get a major spike with their first or second item, I'm thinking Everfrost champs, RFC TF, AP Kai'Sa (litteraly not the same champ anymore once you reach 2 evos).
You also have to factor in their ability to roam around the map to get the stacks early tho.
I'm a TF main and I love the rune that gives you MS way too much to give it up for roughly 500 gold I'll make with the passive anyways, so eh
I'd argue that ingenious hunter is better for both of those champs. Faster CD for everfrost,zhonya's, luden's.

This is probably pretty late but I love using this rune on Sona. You get a huge power spike when you get "Moonstone" and it is easy to get assists if you use a skill on an ally. It makes my life much easier since "Mana Tear" is pretty much mandatory on the champion so you're already 400 gold down.
I wish it gave SOMETHING after you finish it though like 20 gold per assist (similar to the precision rune).

So imo you exchange a rune for what, 600g? Correct me cuz i havent seen the math for it. So a fixed amount of gold for a rune for the rest of the game. I think it can work on something that can utilize gold really well early game and snowball really hard and end the game.
Another possible use case is champs that desperately need gold to reach a certain item spike, and their spikes are so strong that if they reach it the rune isnt gonna be matter anymore. Top of my head it could be Kayle, but idk she is more level dependent than item dependent.

@@Oearli but people don't take free boots because the rune is insane or anything, the inspiration tree is just literally the weakest and thats the rune people rank the highest in it because the competition for it is extremely lackluster. treasure hunter's competition is far better, though it sits in a tree that isn't fucking worthless on 90% of all characters in the game so it's probably more viable than boots on most champions, because you gimp yourself by going inspiration.
I don’t play league anymore so maybe state of the game changed correct me if it makes so sense : I personally see that rune mostly ad hypercarries. These picks we mostly use resolve or the blue runes as second one cause their is nothing better actually, domination second give you absolutely nothing for picks like Yone or Jinx. As MS outside fights isn’t what we search the most lifesteal is on spells, items cd isn’t needed. But gold. Gold is useful as it can help us reach power completely needed. I can continue explaining but I am bored and you get the point
My first thought was master yi, your priority is to snowball and hit your botrk/guinsoo powerspike as dast as possible, and he can gank and dive very early with the appropiate team

there are 2 ways of making it better. When you stacked it completely you should get like +___ gold when you kill a champion as an example, but it only counts for kills but infinite times for every champ. Or you just in general make it go, that if you got 1 claimed bounty you maybe get like +20 for every kill, when you got 2 bounties you get +40 etc
The rune is pretty good for supports or champs that don't make use of any other domination runes because one assist ~150g+170(from rune) does equal to one kill, supposing it's a 2v2 and there is only 1 assist. Would be probably good to go on champs like zyra, brand, veigar, Katarina(those are the few example I can think of rn) and you could also go triumph on Katarina to get even more gold

Well the rune is fucking huge for champs that wanna snowball and are hardcarries in midgame. Just imagine a kata getting 2 kills for free. Or shaco/nida/ quin. Champs who dont really need ms or ultimate stacks

I go 10-0 on ad jungle and still get farmed in 1v1s. Is ap more snowbally? I get fed fine, just in most games once mid game comes, their adc always hits a 0-5 power spike
I know my w placement is horrible and my mid game macro is horrible. Getting fed from idiot bot lanes is not hard, it’s just knowing what to do when I have all the kills

For the record the free boots rune is better cause the boots have increased movespeed which is why it's great for jg. Good gold spike and better ganking/roaming.

I think they should buff the rune to give increase the passive gold you get overtime like support items after you get all 5 stacks.
Granting 10-15% bonus gold on every kill after completing the initial 550 would make it scale better, especially if it applied to late game bounties. Would then work as a recovery/snowball rune :D
The new rune is decent on Pyke but relentless and ultimate hunter and just much better

Yeah the gold alone would be badly designed but added with the 10% damage increase it’s actually good. Which makes it compete with other keystones.
a single pyke R gets a standard kill from 450 gold (300 for kill 150 for assist) to 900 gold (300 for kill 1 coin for pyke and one for assist both 300 gold)
the fully stacked bounty hunter is 550, and you have to kill everyone once. and when you do it's useless.

Comparing with other bounty hunter runes its pretty equal, it has better efficiency than the lifesteal rune but less than the ms rune, its also more adaptable because you can buy different "stats" with the gold you get from it. Only thing is if youre max items the other runes would obviously be better for the same number of items

You have to get 4 kills to get the value of magical footwear, 3 is nearly enough with 270, than you would have to roam, which only a few roles and champ can do, but if you’re going to roam, then relentless hunter is just better.

Imagine invading with this rune and first strike if you could get 3 takedowns you will get 270gold + first strike + assist gold + what ever kill you get you could start a game with a blasting wand.
First strike gives like legit no gold that early though

the rune allow certain champs to get to mythic faster. if i roam top and bot as midlane and get to item spikes faster, the game snowballs so fast its insane. you just do too much dmg too early on, the other runes that you lose out on don't compare in value. it's not for every champ. but there are some that it will be nutty on
i thought the rune is so good because u gonna get the bonus after every kill and in the end u gonna have +150 no matter what but.... yea its absolutely shit for most cases xDDD

i think its good on support, think about it u get fully stack almost 2 kills worth of gold if u are support u dont take kills still get money from them
But that requires you going down domination secondary and still getting 5 unique kills. Roam supports if they go down domination, like Bard for example, gets way more value from Relentless to actually be on the map doing things.
I don't see a champion like Janna or Soraka taking this rune when options like Magical Footwear yield SIMILAR gold amounts, are in an overall better tree, and have failsafes for not snowballing.
@@amethonys2798 free boots suck ass though, it locks you out of getting boots for 12 minutes on characters that appreciate being able to buy them early, and if it takes less than 12 then that means treasure hunter would nearly give you enough gold to just purchase them instead + you're getting more than just the 300 for boots from it afterwards.
Also, free boots doesnt yield similar gold amounts, treasure hunter is literally almost double the gold, 550 vs 300, its like 85% more gold or something like that. and especially if you're playing something like soraka you're basically guaranteed to get assists with using your R properly, and if you cant get assists with R in other places than bot then your team's probably getting stomped anyway and your rune choice in that case is totally irrelevant to the outcome of the game. ALSO, free boots aren't in a good tree lmfao, the inspiration tree is unarguably the weakest tree in the game, with Glacial being the only outstanding rune, first strike being alright on some champions, and all the small runes just fucking suck. Inspiration secondary is some of the worst shit you could ever do, if you're taking that tree for free boots you should just go conditioning + whatever else from resolve instead, that gives you 342 gold worth of raw stats while not locking you out of buying anything + the 5% additional armour/MR. Free boots is literally one of the single worst runes in the game man, its especially bad on champions that go inspiration primary and have a second option (like electrocute vs first strike on a lot of assassins)

No other option gives you extra value after the 5 stacks, why should this one? You get gold to basicly choose your extra stat
@@marianvajda785 I don''t think Lord Dunst's idea was good, but on the topic of no other options giving extra value: It doesn't really matter. A rune should prioritize it's value rather than consistency across options.
With that said, I do believe a change to it's reward after completion would be consistent with the other options, every other option gives some "permanent" buff, while this one stops after completion.
The biggest downside to this rune, apart from there being better options, is that if a player can stack the 5 takedowns, he probably doesn't really need the money, and if he was struggling early and stacked it later in the game, then it is too little money to make a difference.
@@marianvajda785 All the other hunter runes still impact you quite after completion but not treasure, ultimate hunter will ALWAYS give you ult CD, relentless hunter will ALWAYS give you ms etc. Treasure hunter just stops after completion, it doesn’t do anything after that. It’s the only rune in the game that I can think of that just stops doing anything after completion.
@@patrickstar3293 This item will ALWAYS give you 25ap/15dmg/250 health. No other rune provides more after the 5 stacks were collected.
@@spectrobit5554 But the items you bought from the gold are the permanent buff, we have a different approach to this logic I guess but in my opinion they wanted a rune where you can choose your buff in form of items.
5 takedowns are not something extra unless you are a toplaner, it is a good snowball rune for early junglers and supports imo (imagine olaf or lee with extra 550 gold pre 20min)
IMAGINE triomphe give you 20 golds each time you get a kill this is way more OP that this one, but to get early power Spike it's OP !

I think maybe the rune could be good on GP in lower ELOs (like mine :D) since GP just wants items fast and with this rune plus his R plus first strike can get that much faster.
1) Requires you not going Resolve secondary in top lane (a death sentence in a lot of match ups)
2) You aren't going Ultimate Hunter which outside of sheer utility, can potentially net you more overall gold through the additional assists granted. Now, is it a guarantee the difference in CDR actually means anything? No, but there is also not really a guarantee you get tags on mid/jungle with your ults either and I'd rather be 2/5 on ultimate hunter after 1 item than treasure.

the real question is if treasure hunter will give the enemies bigger bounties, so in an even state if 1 team has treasure hunter and the other team doesnt, an even gamestate will have bounties for 1 team

So he complains about a rune that does "nothing" once completed, but takes the only rune in the tier above (eyeball collection) that also does "nothing" over its peers? If there is a necessity to take a rune over sheer gold value, he should be playing Zombie Ward/Ghost Poro for vision over a small gold gain in adaptive.
