Thank you for posting the coverage! My wife and I heard about this game last year on our trip to Canada . I got some plans for an octagon shaped board , I have made 5 boards already ! When I bring the game to family functions or out camping people just love it! Thanks again for keeping this game alive and maybe someday I will enter in the tournament too!
new to the game... could someone please explain the tournament scoring observed here? I'm only familiar with the 20,15,10, 5 scoring method... this seems like some kind of match play... thanks in advance...
So the 20, 15, 10, 5 scoring applies within a round (8 shots each here for singles), but the margin of victory is not important, just who has more points gets awarded 2 points. So in the first round Slater has more points, so he gets 2 points for winning that round and leads 2-0. If there's a tie, both players get 1 point. This the general scoring system used for all competitive tournaments. Then the match formats can change within each tournament. Here it was first to 9 points wins the match. Other tournaments do things like a best of 3 games, with each game being a first to 5 points.
How often is their tournament is there any tournaments for kids and how do you get the overhead camera view what editing software do you use and I like all your videos
There's tournaments about once a month in Ontario that are on the NCA Tour. But lots of other towns hold their own tournaments, which are a lot of fun, just not as competitive. Since crokinole is a game for all ages, kids can also enter basically all tournaments. The overhead camera view comes from small camera attached to an arm extending off of a tripod. I used iMovie to make this video. I now use Final Cut. Thanks!

Well played. Slater was unstoppable. So many 20s.
Good Lord, Slater was a machine.
What amazes me, is that this is the FINAL….and no one else in the room seems to care.
Too bad you didn't interview either player,I'd like to hear their thoughts on the game.
great coverage. love the overhead video. thanks!
Excellent stuff once again! Thank you...
Bro , Slater is the Magnus of Crokinole
Thank you for the coverage, Slater was in great form in both the Semi Final and Final. Is there a website to see full results?
You can find it in an excel file under "London" here: www.nationalcrokinoleassociation.com/results.php
Slater rules!!
This is one of those not too popular games that is normally very niche. For anyone who cares to respond, I'm curious how you got into crokinole
