- In Frederick Colorado in 2018, Chris Watts killed his 2 children and wife in order to be with a gf he started dating. Chris lied to investigators many times claiming his wife and 2 daughters were at a friends house for a playdate but his wife Shanann left her cellphone, wallet, carseats and car behind at the house. Everything pointed to Chris being involved. Thankfully he confessed and they found the 2 kids bodies and his wife's body about 40 miles away in an oil tank.

They live their entire life behind a "mask" of what we'd call normalcy and it comes across as very agreeable, and quiet. It's sooooooo insidious and tactical, very scary stuff. Easy to miss.
There's a spectacular on TH-cam called 'Live Abuse Free', and the wonderful woman (I assume a clinical psychologist, I'm not sure) who runs the channel does a deep dive into the Chris Watts case and not just the details of the murder but the psychological factors at play. I urge you to check it out. It's fascinating and you'll learn so much about human behavior.
Chris was a stupid criminal. He actually called the school, telling them the kids wouldn’t be going to school anymore there, when Shanann and Bella and Celeste were missing. There were other stupid stuff he did also. He deserves to rot in prison.

They were not even discovered in their makeshift graves he put them in. This never happened until the law has Chris in for his interrogation!

They were behind on the mortgage on the house. I would assume Shannon didn't know. The house went into foreclosure and last I looked up the house is vacant. Its haunted. Someone caught video of children in the house. Chris made good money not sure why he couldn't afford what he had, didn't Shannon contribute to the household since she did well in le-vel or whatever it was called.
It's so eerie watching you drive down the road that the POS drove his daughter's, son, and wife.. and ultimately dumped them. This is beyond sad

I think she had a feeling he was cheating. Because when she was out of town. She received a notification that money was spent at a restaurant for two people and concluded he was on a date
Nicole A Shannans best friend is the reason he didn't get far after the murders. She called in a wellness check.

I love that you took the time to visit, investigate and give context to the location. I read a book of this case and it seems that Chris planned to have a normal day at work after killing his family but Shannans friend Nichole "screwed up" his plans by calling the police. He also begged Nichole no to call the police, I think because he left some tips uncovered at the house. Thank God that Nichole and the neighbors reached out to the authorities
All of the beds were in major disarray, and the puppy, who was going nuts barking, was never checked on by him. I mean, you enter your house to find such a mess and no family but, don't go downstairs to the basement to find out why your pup is freaking out?! Yet ANOTHER tell that he was guilty.
Thankfully, after all was said and done and Chris was convicted, it turned out that Shannan's brother adopted the puppy.
I followed this case back when it happened and I still do not understand it, especially because he still had bella and celeste in the car FOR A WHILE after killing his wife, who does that. it still causes me great sadness to hear shannan saying this monster was the best thing that had happened to her.
Yeah I know right! It's crazy because she just thought they were having some arguments and differences but things would work out. She apparently didn't know Chris wanted a separation.
The sad part is, we can watch this case from the beginning to the end - along with ALL the documentaries - but we “normal people” will never be able to grasp or understand what he was thinking in those moments - probably even MONTHS - before killing them all. Why not get a damn divorce and call it even? People fall in and out of love all the damn, but nah... If Chris was going down, he was going to take EVERYONE down with him!

Nikole is the type of friend most people dream of and she was the real reason this was only hours missing and she is the one who kept on the police about this not being right, and she wouldn't have gone anywhere, especially knowing she knew exactly what was going on in their marriage and that she was sick over the weekend and had a doctor's appointment!! I guess Chris wasn't expecting Nikole to come through so damn hard, and not giving up when she heard the bullshit story he was trying to sell!!!
Such a sad case. I started following this when Chris did the tv interview "pleading" for the return of his family. I saw him holding himself rocking back and forth and thought to myself ahhhh shit! This guy knows exactly where his family is.
Yup. As soon as I saw that, I was like dude knows exactly what happened! Then when they showed Chris in Nick’s house I swear he was about to have a heart attack. You can literally see the sheer panic in his body language. It is absolutely insane!
How could he destroy the lives of the woman he loved and his daughters? Killing his beautiful wife and 2 beautiful daughters. All they wanted was his love and what do they get in return, being murdered. I myself am getting married this year and when I have kids I’m going to give my wife and kids all the love they deserve. This guy had it all and threw it all away. Unfaithful to his wife and felt he needed to kill her. He could have divorced instead of taking her life and his daughters life. Pure evil

Their relationship was garbage, she treated him terribly and spent money like she had it. And don’t even get me started on her mothering skills. She was a nutcase. And no obviously none of that means she deserved to be murdered I’m just saying he didn’t have the perfect life/family. It was all an illusion.

We really don't know much about this universe we are in, do we. We don't know why we are here, and we don't know if there is a god. If there is, why would he let such a horrible thing happened. I was so invested in the story when it initially came out! I watched several of her videos on Facebook and TH-cam, and it breaks my heart what happened to her, her unborn son, and her girls! I will never understand why he felt the need to kill his entire family, in order to be with his mistress! It truly makes me so sick to my stomach! I pray that they are at peace, and I hope every day in prison is a living hell for him!
I used to be in a Facebook group dedicated to looking over evidence and discussing the case, and the vast majority of the group were older women who called Shannan a "crazy bitch" and thought she deserved to die. They sided with Chris. They mocked Shannan post-mortem and laughed about the fact that she was murdered. I had to leave the group because it was too horrible.
I bet that group is still on Facebook. I've been in a few myself. They are awful. In fact, just recently, I was kicked out of 2 pretty awful groups because I kept sticking up for Shanann.

I think the problem with all of these killing is due to child support and alimony payments. He could just leave but will be responsible financially but these killers forgot that they can’t escape the law.
The neighbor and the footage of Chris watching the security footage is my favorite thing. Pure. FEAR. And the neighbor was soooo perceptive, I like to think that I’d be the same if shit went down around me.

It was not a makeup place where she worked it was called Thrive and she and the girls died on August 13th not the 18th like you said.. And he confessed on August 15th... He is in a prison in Waupun, Wisconsin now...
And the last words Bella ever spoke was "no Daddy".....
His first interview was the 15th he confessed next day on the 16th

Talk about Victim Blaming! She was saying all sorts of crap about Shanann, that she was a horrible wife/mother and must've done something to drive her precious son to do what he did.
Even when it came out that when Chris' parents had the girls for a weekend or something, and KAREN gave one of the girls nuts or, something else that the little one was HIGHLY allergic to (no matter how many times Shanann told her MIL about the allergy), she acted like it was no big deal and tried to make Shanann's enraged and worried reaction sound like SHANANN was horrible and wrong! Omg, I wanted to reach through my screen and strangle HER so bad! Ugh! Horrible woman who raised a horrible son, and was married to a man who has no real backbone.
Every time I hear a story about a horrible Karen/Entitled mother story on YT, I think of that bi*ch and remember these people actually exist.

It's been 3 years and this case still gets to me. Bella would be 7, CeCe 6 and Niko 3. Those girls should be starting school and Niko should be running around pestering his sisters. Shanaan should be filming all of it. Just can't get over the absolute disregard for life. RIP Shanaan, Bella, CeCe and Niko.

The neighbor, Nate had his house up,for sale before the murders. Shannan references that fact also but he couldn’t sell it so ended up selling it to a cousin of his. Also Nicole Atkinson, our hero, has had much sadness after losing her friend. She had a baby that needed heart surgery soon after birth and then was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been in the fight for her life this past year. Lots of haters in this story as some actually think he is innocent if you can believe that or had help from his girlfriend. He’s filing an appeal btw.

Okay so first off, her best friend wasn't her neighbor, second, the neighbor was an older woman and man on one side and Nate on the other, all neighbors have since had to move because of harassment by a specific youtuber. I just wanted to share some facts with you. Yes that was a slip of the tongue. I didn't mean to say that. I made a few mistakes on this but give me a little slack as I filmed like 5 videos on this same day. So my brain was probably fried trying to remember all this info. That sucks that a youtuber was sending his followers to the neighbors. Poor nate, he didn't deserve to be harrassed.

I think he still wanted to maintain “The good guy narrative” he was so used to. In his head this was a way he could make it all Shanans fault and he could play the victim card and have a fresh start.

I’m actually surprised it hasn’t, I know of a small house on a waterfront that sold multiple times since a similar incident, I believe it was auctioned off then the guy sold it not much later, who eerily was a tall bald guy like the previous owner.

Chris Watts is now in a prison in Wisconsin. He was getting picked on by other prisoners is why they moved him from Colorado to a Wisconsin Prison.

What I like about you mate is that you aren’t bias at all...you are the “right guy for this sort of content” .....in most of cases the people investigating only look at it from their own point of view...those people are dangerous and give a warped judgement which then influences the viewer...that’s not healthy.

Chris killed Belle and Cece first, he smothered them with their pillows and when he proceeded to kill his wife they got up even tho he made sure they were not breathing (he says in the book he got very angry when he saw them walking around) , Belle`s eyes were blue he was dragging their mom`s body down the stairs he took`em in the truck and smothered them again at the oil tanks with their blankets and to make sure they don't get up again he put them inside the oil tanks... I couldn't believe what I was reading it's just horrendous that man has very serious issues ... RIP to those poor souls :(

This story stays in my mind.. it pisses me off he did this.. regardless he shouldn't of cheated but he could of just left instead of taken their lives like that.. I'm so glad her best friend alerted the cops so fast before he had time to do anything to try and cover his tracks.. I'll never understand why ppl just don't separate instead of killing the spouse and kids.. if he was worried he wouldn't see his kids again or really loved them he would of just stopped sleeping around then point blank it's just sad

Under normal circumstances I’d be LIVID if my neighbors had cameras pointed so blatantly at my house. Like why? I can get like having your camera pointed towards the house in a way where it’s like your property with a hint of your neighbor’s but that’s like right on their neighbor’s house/drive. Had this not been a murder investigation, it’d be interesting to see what the cops would say about that.
