There are videos of Suga claiming that his favorite voice among bts members is Jimin's and he wants to write a song for him or have a collab with him. he actually wrote a song he can do with Jimin but their company didn't approve it. Suga said it in one of his voice vlive.

Tony Montana was released in August of 2016, so BTS had not yet made it, they were starting to see some good success of course, but they had not “arrived” yet (only six years ago, it’s crazy)…This studio version is from 2022, PROOF though.
I remember Jimin saying that Yoongi kinda insisted that Jimin should do this song live with him - so he must have seen this in him and been keen for us to see it too- and Jimin is legit, can’t deny it 🤷♂️😂😂

It seems the music producer Suga instinctively feels that there are many hidden potential in Jimin & Suga want to encourage & push Jimin to explore all those hidden musical talents more fully!
That is why Suga choose Jimin to collaborate with him in this ‘Tony Montana’ & that is why he has asked Jimin to rap ‘Daecheetah’ at their 2021 Seoul concerts & asked Jimin to collaborated in ‘People’, one of his 2nd mix tape song(unfortunately didn’t happen because of the interference of BigHit, their company) & also that is why he has asked Jimin to participate more as ‘the Music Project Manager’ for making of their album ‘BE’.
I don't know why Suga chose Jimin for this song (not that I have any complaints) but one of Suga's talents out of so many that he has, is knowing exactly which of the BTS members has the exact voice for what he needs and this song proves how correct the choice is. I highly recommend you to listen to the song " Let Me Know" that Suga wrote, and produced musically and... decided which part, which of the members will sing, who will do adlibs, etc , it'll blow your mind

Suga loves Jimin's voice and always told him he should hop on a darker hip hop track it could make something crazy and Jimin was like no... But thank God Suga convinced him.. I don't know if you got your answer about why Yoongi ad Jiin performed together but... this was performed for the 2016 3rd Muster which was a gathering for ARMY only where BTS did special performances of 2 groups of 2 BTS members, a group of 3 members and all of the members and just spent time with ARMY. I forget when they stopped doing it after they blew up and became so popular.

The video you point just few second to the end, you have to check it (my gosh, i express so badly myself right now 😅). Ok. breath. So. Like i said (tried to say), i think it would be cool to check out the video of the performance with Boys with fun / Converse High / Never Mind / Attack on Bangtan. They weren't famous songs, they are more early songs, but Boys with fun and Attack on Bangtan are very very fun songs on stage, you can fell the boys had lots of fun and energy to perform them.
Yoongi, apparently, have promise Jimin to wrote him a song, i think Jimin tells about that in a Festa. For now this wasn't appends but i think Suga have seen something in Jimin before all of us.
