I have a few of these growing out in our old flower basin (and under an evergreen tree) that I was thinking was corn all this time. UNTIL I saw the little cluster of balls/seeds on top. That's when I knew it wasn't corn. Not sure how they grew randomly, unless there was some mixed in some bird seed that was scattered at one time.

Thank you for your information. Excuse me which Sorghum variety you have farming?

Is soft doe the right time to graze it when you are more interested in the grain than the actual plant itself? I want to sub my pig feed, figired if i planted sorghum and let the seed set, it would be better as i dont think they can take much from the green material? Maybe sugar?

Once the grain reaches hard dough it is difficult for animals to digest it, unless it is crushed before feeding. If you want animals to consume the plant and grain without processing you need to be feeding it at soft dough or sooner. You can chop the plant and grain together like silage for good results.

He lost my interest at hybrids. Sorghum is an ancient heirloom seed! Stop supporting all of this junk and look at the roots of crop rotation and the fertility of the soil.
