    Honestly, I do not understand why people disliked this video. At least they have to acknowledge the effort that is put to make this and it is actually free and so are they, to leave if they do not find it useful.

    Thanks Miguel! Interesting that you create a copy of the project to use on the Cinematics. I can see both pros/cons to that - curious how it benefits your needs. I'm debating whether or not to implement the same process.

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching John! I migrate to a new project to have a leaner one and then create two or more versions depending if is going to be playable or not. In the cinematics one, fps are not that much important, so I can crank up the quality settings and use a global post process volume. If is playable, I might create more than one ppv to control exposure changes and quality settings to gain more fps. I might even create a level with baked light if is ever needed.

    Hola Miguel!
    - Notebook Asus Vivobook
    - Procesador: i7-8550U (8va Gen)
    - RAM: 16GB DDR4
    - Discos: SSD 240GB + HDD 1TB
    - Placa Video: GeForce MX150 2GB GDDR5
    Muchas gracias!
    Saludos!

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hola!
      Un placer! Y trabajar en Unreal es una pasada luego que aprendes las funcionalidades básicas, el hecho de poder trabajar en tiempo real y hacer el proyecto interactivo es genial.
      La verdad que te recomendaría una tarjeta gráfica más potente, sobretodo RTX, mismo que sea de la gama de las 3000. De otra manera te va a costar trabajar con bajos FPS y no podrás usar todo lo que ofrece Lumen. Hay un dicho en los forums que es VRAM is king, quiere decir que entre más GB de memoria en tu gráfica, mejor para trabajar en Unreal.
      Saludos!

    Hi Miguel, Thank you for doing this great tutorial. I tried to follow this exercise, but I'm having a problem using materials or models from Fab. Every time I assign the material, the objects turn black. However, when I use path tracing, they look fine. I created a new level, and the Fab material is fine using Lumen. Only your template is causing this. Maybe there is a setting that I need to change in your template? Thanks in advance.

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! It is probably because the Allow Static Light is enabled for you to control the ambient occlusion in your materials.
      You can either disable the Allow Static Light in your project settings or enter into the master material of that asset and assign a value of 0 to AO.

    • @leodarwinorjalo7216
      @leodarwinorjalo7216 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mdandrade Thanks, Miguel. I turned on/off the AO, and it works. However, some fab materials' base texture doesn't show in the material editor even though it is ticked; only the normals, roughness, etc., are showing. The only solution is to recreate the materials using the basic method.

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I need to check them out but I think disallowing Allow Static Lighting should sort the issue. Although, you won’t have control on the AO.

      @leodarwinorjalo7216 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mdandrade Thanks, Miguel. On another topic, regarding the displacement map using an ORM texture, to make it work, you need to use red instead of blue in MF Displacement and enable tessellation in the Material detail section. It took me a while to figure it out. Thanks

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @leodarwinorjalo7216 thanks! I tend to use the blue channel because it’s commonly used for metallic and 99% of the time I don’t need it in my workflow and I prefer to leave the red for ambient occlusion, which I like to control a little bit more.

    is it better to model in 3dsmax or in Blender?
    Ty !

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Tomas, I’d recommend you to try both and see which one you enjoy the must and which seems easier to you. I started in sketchup, then 3dsmax and jumped into blender for economics reasons but I also enjoyed it much more and became faster too but some other person will have different feelings about that.
      Good thing about 3dsmax is that it’s widely used in the industry so you’ll probably get more job opportunities if you want to follow a archviz career in a studio.
      If you want to focus only on Unreal, Twinmotiom, D5, etc, then either of them will do just fine.

    At 1:03:24 had a PCG vertex duplication then jump to next subject without any explanation so quicly that hard to notice, such a tiny movement which can be miss easily, took me so long to understand why your spline had an extra vertex than I do that you can drag. Then I found out that you can duplicate vertex while alt press down and drag a vertex.

    Do you think will it be good if we do all the Exterior & Interior Cameras first after adding Static Meshes and before all they other steps? That way we only need to do works what in camera views produce instead of everything?

    • @mdandrade
      @mdandrade  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s up to you to be honest. If you’re doing the project just as a cinematic render then you only need to show what’s in camera. If it’s for interactivity, it won’t matter much as you’ll need to look at it globally and think what the player will see in-game.

      Hi Gabriel, you need to increase the size of the sphere, 1000 works most of the time for me. At around 2:13:38 you can see I increased the size of the sphere so the backdrop looks better. This is assuming that the meshes are placed in coordinates 0,0,0.

Drag off pins to build functionality" this is on all three nodes; I don't know this is because I'm using U5.4. What is it I need to do to active the nodes Miguel?

      Hi there! I just tested it and indeed I couldn't move the spline on 5.4. Please open the blueprint BP_PCG_SplineDty and select the spline, then goi into its details and check Override Construction Script. This would make the points available for selection and transform.
