How to make Puff Sleeves (tutorial)

- Do you need a puff sleeve for your next cosplay, costume or outfit? Need some help getting the right shape? Then hopefully this will help!
In this tutorial, I will show you how to alter a sleeve block (free to download) to get three different versions of a puff sleeve. I will also show you two ways to maximize volume and two ways to gather the sleeves.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! A few months ago I was working on a Garnet from Steven universe cosplay, I looked everywhere for a more rounded puffy sleeve tutorial but could not find one. In the end the sleeves did not look puffy at all, this tutorial would have been so helpful!

I've been asked to make a dress for a little girl and her mum wants like an A line with a slightly puffed sleeve so this was very helpful, thank you. I think I'm going to go for the last option and elasticated the bottom gather because it has to be comfy.

This is really helpful! I will use the puff at the hem for my Sapphire cosplay as well as a few other historical gown bodices. I love full sleeves since they are very feminine and charming.

this is a very nice tutorial! I've also seen another way of keeping the puff in your sleeve and that is by sewing an additional puffed sleeve underneath made from organza or tulle. the stiff tulle should keep your sleeve in shape :)
Ah yes! That is also a good way! It sort of like sew in interfacing when you do it like that. The results are good!

Is it possible to hand-sew this? I'm attempting to start my first cosplay soon(right now I'm in the "digging around for car change to fund the cosplay" phase) and I don't have a sewing machine or the money to purchase a sewing machine 😅
