I actually inked the original story penciled by Jim. It was the "Wild Boys" backup, 5 pager. The FedEx box got lost ( dropped behind the flat files ) in the mailroom where they received all the packages. Kim Demulder, I think, then had time to re-ink the story over copies. It was the one that saw print. Then as Jim noted... they found the package about 3-5 YEARS after when they were moving stuff! The only time I have inked Jim and it didn't see print! :-/
VZA I did get 2 of the 5 pages back I believe. Funny thing is that Jim was drawing in a JRJR type style and I tried to do my best Al Williamson style. So it was fun to do and I was quite shocked when the pages finally showed up! 🤔
I love the way Jim uses tissue paper, set squares, credit cards, cd's, basically anything lying within arms reach, to create the most amazing pieces. I'd swear the guy's insane if I wasn't so sure he's a total genius.
In my opinion, beginners should not think this is a tutorial. This is a demo from a top professional in his field. Mr. Lee has drawn the same characters so many times he does not have to think too much about all the basic skills sets. Muscle memory just kicks in.
I’m so impressed through all these videos of Jim’s drawings what a difference the white-out makes. Also, the last couple of minutes are great. It’s the artist’s critical eye at work- you say you’re done, then you notice one last thing. And another. And… then you’re done!
I wonder if you took a pole, who is the number one band professional comic artist LIKE to listen to while they draw....my top guess would be kiss, korn, rush and Billy Ray Cyrus...
Jim: *accidentally splatters ink on perfectly good Daredevil drawing* Oh, no! Also Jim: *pulls an artist MacGyver and turning the mess into an amazingly detailed greyscale background of New York anyway* Anyway...
when he was talking about the "proofreading" part of the drawing and he mentions how some artists just do it and say "well that's what I drew" who was the first person you thought of?
Used to follow a lot of your artwork it seems like you develop some new skills using a lot of whites with blacks inside of like using paper is this something you discovered over the past years or something to always had
turn your intro volume down please. its so loud compared to the rest of the video and i tend to watch these videos on a playlist and sometimes i fall asleep and the intro scares the shit out of me

Oh my! Did you at least get to keep the art once it was found?

This is why Jim Lee is who he is a master artist.

Call of duty 4
Me too, he sure fast forwarded my own technique...if it looks cool use it, something you tend to forget because of practice.
He's the MacGyver of the art world 💙💙💜💜👌

Learn a lot of tricks for drawing from this. Thank you!
Thank you for being human. Its nice to see you roll with the punches, adapt and change, as necessary and in the end create something amazing.
Jim told that happy accident, “You work for me, son.” Goddamn genius that man is.
Jim never really draws Daredevil, this is cool to see
would love him to draw the KING PIN with DD

The best. Hands down. The reason I picked up X-men comics in the first place.
love this edit with him green screened in!
Wish I could take credit for that. Jim did that live during the stream. Let's hope he continues to do that going forward.
The bit above the eyes is part of the costume and you can see his ears because the old version is him with a costume gap between it
Wouldn't it be amazing if Jim Lee showed us some of his older/high school Era sketches?

Vza do you have the full stream? Bc I would to see him draw a quick sketch of metropolis
Visit twitch.tv/jimlee and go to the videos tab. Should be the most recent video and I believe it's the first thing Jim drew that day.
He does his buildings very fastly fast-lee
He has to let his ear canal pop out so he can fully utilize his hearing I think.
I would like Jim Lee to return to Marvel and draw DD or Black Panther haha
And in just a few strokes of his micron Jim Lee can make you hate your self.
love the shirt
Good job on it Jim.
this crosshatching is amazing

Just draw whenever you can. You'll get better. For faster improvement study people like lumis and anatomy

What ink pen is he using in this video at the beginning?
Hi
Where did you find the picture?
Draw chucky if you haven't already
What kind of pencil is that at the beginning when u begin to set down guide lines
Here is a list of the tools that Jim and many other artists use... vzaage.blogspot.com/2014/04/whatpen.html
Muito bem ele é mestre do rascunho bommmmmn
could you post his video him drawing Moon Knight & Grifter?
I'd love to but the resolution is so tiny that I don't know how it would come out. If I have time I'll give it a shot.
Thank you so much for responding regardless!
At 13:56 if you remove the mouth the face looks like a wolf.
At 28:15. What is that pen called?
Here you go... amzn.to/2YDlpBq

turn your intro volume down please. its so loud compared to the rest of the video and i tend to watch these videos on a playlist and sometimes i fall asleep and the intro scares the shit out of me
Thanks for the advice... I'll try to keep this in mind for future videos.
not the best of ur drawings but good
From what I've learned about drawing Daredevil; draw batman, don't draw the cape, give him horns.
Looks like Dr. Manhattan with horns.
Jesse Mersier you look like Manhatten MD with horns
Wow...That's....horrible.yikes!
