I definitely think velothi ur-mage amulet is S tier. Ignoring its undoubtedly god tier level of potency on arcanists, the main reason ALL dps should run this mythic is trash fights. Unless you frontbar a 2h, your LA are not doing that much damage since they are single target, also its hard to reach penetration cap on all enemies in trash fights so the pen buff comes in handy too. If you're not a sweaty prebuffer or play on console or don't have access to channeled acceleration, its also the best way to get minor force in trash fights due to casting trap being pretty sub par in trash fights. its also good enough as a dps mythic you can get away with just running it all the time in dungeons if you are on console, theres more trash fights then not, so it helps there too on the new(er) player front, it allows you to miss the odd LA as long as you're still LAing enough for the ulti gen and enchants to proc its no big issue, so if you struggle with your la weave its going to be alot more effective for you, while still teaching you how to play unlike oakensoul
The other thing to remember about Mora's whispers is companion XP gain is a percentage of your XP gain when it comes to valid XP sources. So if you want to power-level a new companion to get, say, those glowing bags, it's a great thing to slot while grinding XP for that companion. A 2x event, with a good XP potion, and Whispers? Absolutely CRAZY fast companion leveling. For oaken builds, one bar builds are viable in a hell of a lot of content and this game is such a unstable buggy mess that for a significant percentage of the player-base, barswapping is not reliable at all. Anyone who has a ping over about 200 cannot, reliably, maintain a rotation in this game. Either bad internet, or more remote areas? Forget it. Oaken builds bring a LOT Of players up in ability because it levels the playing field. And that's not even getting into people with accessibility issues... Will you run vet trials with oaken builds? Not all trials, but some. There are multiple oakensorks in my guilds vet trial rotation and they do just fine. What's weird (and where your group is just...flat out completely fucking wrong) is The velothi amulet. That is S tier as it is the _only_ mythic used by 90%+ of arcanist DPS. Want to run a arcanist 1 bar? You're _still better off_ with the amulet than oakensoul in group content.
Lvling a companion is not the hard part it’s the rapport lvling. All the time u can spend getting their rapport max’d would likely get u to a high lvl with them and having a high rapport means more experience they gain per kill
@@drackar velothi is S Tier for both arcanist and templars and oakensoul is never better than velothi if you have a trial set because that is the main benefit,!you are not gonna heavy attack on a one bar build that's supposed to beam, where it is better though is in solo surely - but if you have a decent healer you will get all the buffs the ring provides damage wise, which is why velothi is flat out better. then again you can just run pale order for solo. - for every other class velothi is a b tier or sometimes even A depending on your setup
Personally as a Tank I think that Bloodlords Embrace is pretty good when you are one barring sets since DSA sword and board is not needed now and when you are not running pearl but something like sax and TT you can the holy oversustain for dmg shields which is especially good for any Projectile heavy fight or even any other because you can use the magicka to heal yourself or in case of a sorc or NB tank even boost your stamina in case you have trouble managing that - for me around B or even if you want to constantly cast shields and heals and buffs solid A tier.
I’d definitely like a detailed companion guide. Even if they are a few videos. Best traits best builds. Full mid max. DPS, Tank, Healer, Support. I know Hack has a great support Bastion and a good Az debuffer.

I run velothi on all my pve dps. The 15% offsets the damage light attacks provide and 100% uptime on minor force is incredible after barbed trap nerf. S tier for sure.
Steamguards have a fundamental problem. Not only its hard to prock, but if we ignore that - its not that useful anyways. If you are blocking the damage - you reduce a lot of it already. Reducing already reduced dmg will not do much. And if the fight is block heavy - i rather slot defensive stand, rather than give away one of my armor slots for that.
Saint and seducer is my fave on Necro. Pair with Agony Totem, enemies on the objective could theoretically have both Major and Minor cowardice on them while in the areas....
Oakensoul is for people who cant keep up with more demanding builds, Im an old lady and my reflexes have gotten much slower over the years and my vision isnt as good as it once was so I lose the cursor sometimes onscreen, but Ive been a gamer since the 90s, I use oakensoul most of the time. No, its not for top tier gamers, it is easy mode, but people of all abilties enjoy playing overland content etc.
Oakensoul just doesn't work well in PvP. Glad you pointed that out. Maybe in some very specific builds .... But it's not worth the loss of flexibility you def need in Cyro with a back bar.
As a new player oaken soul is easy for me given I’m already having to take in so much information learning the game and as a new player it’s kind of hard for me to use both bars I’ll eventually get it but it shouldn’t be a bad thing the ring allows for an easy way to learn the game
Ring of the wild hunt isn’t great. It’s only 2 enchants on a piece of Jewelry, aka equivalent of 200 weapon damage. Get more value out of Markyn and just running two swift.
Wild hunt is very good but it’s situational. I run it in VCR3 3s as a MT. That way I can run tri harmony/infused etc. and not using a major/minor expedition skill for kite/portal phase is a big bonus. It ls very niche.
There's nothing oakensoul offers you that you can't obtain anywhere else it's more of a crutch. Velothi and ddf on the other hand is a proper trade off mythic

The only instance Oak is not worth it is in well optimized groups that supply all of the buffs Oak has. But there is no content in the game that 1 bar builds can't complete shy of a few hm trials. My ha sorc Trifecta vatshran and unchained easily. And has beat most hm trials.

@@SHARlNGOD just...not true every companion has a few high ticket items you can do daily that will get them there in very little effort.
