Absolutely my favourite. 10/10.
Sheldon is a very emotional performer because the songs that he selects to sing have true meaning to him. This particular song "Not the Same" he had written back in 2015. It is about his struggles as a 6 year old, diagnosed with Aspergers, unaware about his sexuality, living in public housing, moving from home to home in a religious community. Very emotional, but it is also a song that can connect with others on different levels. Whether you have ever felt out of place or not accepted as an individual, this truly hits home for most people. A true masterpiece!!! 10/10.
Sheldon has a great voice, but I have heard better Eurovison songs than this. S10 with De Diepte is higher on the list of people who predict winners on Eurovison. S10 her song is about mental health and depression, so she has a good message in her song as well. S10 has gone through a lot like Sheldon so you can really feel the pain she went through when she sings.

@@klaudijabogdanovski Cool, I saw Sheldon on Americas Got Talent and he said people in America really understood him. I dont know why he would say that, I have seem him perform on The Voice in Australia and people seemed very supportive of him. Dont know if he won or lost in the Voice, maybe that has something to with it. He has a great voice no doubt about that. He seemed to do the same as Jack Vidgen who won the talent show in Australia, he was known and succesfull in his own country and also went to America where everything went downhill for him. I would say if you are just starting out and you are succesful in your own country where everyone knows you from tv, go on tour in your own country for a couple of years to build confidence performing on big stages and festivals and then go other countries like the US. I know both had mental problems, but still I would perform in my own country first. We had a Voice winner who went to try to get famous im other countries right after he won, now he came back everyone has forgotten about him and he has to work a normal job now. His manager also told him not to perform on televison in his own country after he won The Voice, that is a great way of people to make people forget about you. Sheldon will probably end high but I dont think he will win, I think S10 or Ukraine will win. Ukraines song is pretty nice and because of the war lot of people are saying Ukraine will win. I dont know where you are from but you probably cannot understand the Dutch lyrics of S10 song which are very poetic, it gets lost in translation in English unfortunately.

That performance was for us, Australia, I am really happy with that standard. He said on an interview that it won't be the same, Europe will get something different. He also said, If he can get there. A portion of our nation is in a natural disaster and a national emergency really bad floods. We need lots of love and care at present.
Also he wants to do this safely because of covid. This song is perfect, I am glad he is representing our nation. Koala Hugs.

I think back over the years and there aren't many songs in Eurovision that are really emotional. Great job Australia.
As a person with Aspergers this song hits me so incredibly hard. I cry every time i hear it. Ive never connected to anything quite like this

Sheldon is nothing short of amazing. I knew, I just knew the first time that I saw him on "Austrailia's Got Talent" the his voice was going to be a voice to be reckoned with for sure. I knew that his voice was going to take him places that most of us could only dream of. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Oh wow! I recognised him, he was at American Got Talent season 15 till the quarterfinals. He is really good and authentic, you can recognise him from the "mask" he use on his face.
Sheldon has Asperger and he’s gay and he wrote that song when he was 15 years old about his life . Beautiful words
