En 2021, el Festival de Jazz de Barcelona me dedicó el retrato de artista y tuve 5 conciertos. Para uno de ellos se me ocurrió la idea de juntar a todos los músicos con los que había grabado un CD de la colección de los “presentas”. Eran 15 músicos y casi podía formar una big band: Andrea Motis, Eva Fernández, Magalí Datzira, Rita Payés, Marc Martín, Joan Mar Sauqué, Èlia Bastida, Joan Codina, Alba Armengou, Carla Motis, Joana Casanova, Jan Domènech, Marçal Perramon, Joan Martí y Alba Esteban.
Cada músico de los presentados escogió un tema.

What I really love about this band is the unique role that women play. Alba Esteban and Eva Fernandez anchoring the saxophones, Rita Payes leading the trombones, Andrea Motis and the Armengou sisters setting the way for the trumpets, and Magali Daztira and Carla Motis doing there thing on bass and guitar. What a showcase for talented young females! Joan Chamorro should be lauded for the incredible job he has done in teaching and mentoring these young phenoms. Bravo Maestro!
Great arrangement of a great song. Jan is wonderful on piano. And as usual, Magali is great on bass. Is there a better big band anywhere? I don't think so.

I used to think that ANDREA MOTIS🎷 has the greatest Lead Alto sound I ever heard, and now I am convinced that JOAN MARTI🎷 is tied with Andrea for World #1.

I think a lot of people don’t remember what an Incredible ALTO SAX player Andrea Motis was (IS!), since she plays Trumpet most of the time these days. @@cjgaddy True! It fades out of my mind because she concentrates on her trumpet, but her capabilities with the saxes can'T be denied. Usually, Eva would have a solo, but here, she's absent.
Not what I was expecting! When I saw "There Is No Greater Love" I thought of Chet Baker's version--this ain't that!

Wow, for me this has been first of all Oscar's tune but Jan is just so great and so is arrangement (Joan Monne?) and the Band. They never stop impress me ❤❤❤❤
Such a complex intro executed flawlessly! Then “bam!” I was pleasingly surprised at the pianist carrying the melody! So cleverly scored. As usual, all musicians were perfect!
These performances get better and better Joan. So together, in tune, and tight!

Though less noticable to many is how important the drum transitions and accents are to the music, my guess. Arnau's timing and intensity is flawless in this song. Thanks Arnau.

Nice sound…love Isham Jones…I have the 1936 arrangement in my music collection…fewer notes and horns…but very different from this great modern version.

Eu acho esse trabalho extraordinário, formidável. Mas o que me parece muito artificial e exagerado é os músicos sorrirem o tempo todo um para os outros. Qdo a gente toca um instrumento, a concentração e a seriedade são elementos cruciais. Não é recreação.
