Parallel: Just because they name you patriot after you receive your first ever uniform, doesn't mean your individual rights supersede the rights of all. ;) "You have been briefed"
I wouldn't be complaining if I got to chill on an island and get paid for it. In fact that's kind of what I did in GTMO.... well on Sundays anyway. Man I loved Sunday, I'd go snorkeling with my buddies, or just spend the day fishing on the Navy side. Good times.
Surprisingly, this cartoon also has a subtle environmental message: even during the war time, don't pollute the ocean with tin cans - or else US Navy gonna find you and sink you down!
Kudos to those intel officers who picked up the can of fish and rice likely came from a Japanese ship, especially from an otherwise long, dreary, and monotonous report.
It's crazy to look back at the relationship between the US and Japan...even crazier to look 40 years in the future when we must ally ourselves to fight the space bug invasion. May the forces of the "United Japnancanida of South Americainianacha"" be successful!
How does SNAFU get a gf that hot?! Just proves life isn't fair. I would love his job- just watch out for enemies and relax on a tropical island. Better than being shot at.
Hey, you think that's strange? Immediately before this one I watched "No Buddy Atoll," in which Snafu - sans helpful critters nor higher personnel - saves the day and defeats an enemy soldier! I notice this is from 1944, & "No Buddy Atoll" from 1945; I wonder if in the later years of the war Snafu had become so popular with the soldiers that they used him less as a cautionary example?
I guess this time snafu did killed yet helped to find The enemy well this bird did everything while Sanou get the credits. Yet he’s didn’t notice how important this information ℹ️ lol
@ya0ish3lly Medals are seldom awarded to cartoon animals in cartoons, however, your attitude may explain your failure to be promoted to officer in any branch of the U.s. armed forces. Try working for the Towel Ban.
@ya0ish3lly au contraire mon ami. Calling someone a fart shows incredible attitude "here" , as well as a number of other traits likely stemming from the verbal abuse you suffered from school peers and women at the sight of your tiny, shriveled genitalia, as well as the self esteem robbing academic failures resulting from you being mistakenly placed with "normal" kids in school. No apologies are necessary as I hold society, not you responsible for making you the rude uncouth trash that u are!
Moral: Your job, regardless of how pointless it might sound, IS an important military operation.
Parallel: Just because they name you patriot after you receive your first ever uniform, doesn't mean your individual rights supersede the rights of all. ;)
"You have been briefed"
@@ArchDragon888 Agreed. There's no democracy in the military!
Pretty ironic, something is the most "boring" part of the military and tends to also have the most excited when the unexpected happens.
@JoseMendola Yes, 🇺🇸
@@ArchDragon888Exactly 🇺🇸
That's strange Snafu actually did something that didn't get everyone and himself wiped out? Of course the bird had something to do with it.

Yeah but you weren't alone at gitmo with an imaginary bird to keep you company.
@@davefox72 I wasn’t alone… I certainly was lonely though

XD
Well it’s not so much an environmental message as much as it was an anti-give away position message
or the air force destroys a tenth of your fleet

That is the reason why, to this day, submarines still weigh down their garbage before disposing of it.

The actor voicing snafu is the same one who originally voiced Bugs Bunny!
Yes, Mel Blanc.
How does SNAFU get a gf that hot?! Just proves life isn't fair.

Well if you’ll notice, she’s not real, but a cloudy figment of his horny teenage imagination
Yeah true that, he got a hot gf 😔😔😔
It seems to end ok for Snafu a lot of the time...hmmm. Then again he does have the power of intelligent animals and faeries...

Shucks SOAB was Lucid dreaming 😍
It could also be that as it became clear the Allies would win, even training films could be a little more optimistic.
Sort of. You THINK it's pointless? We don't tell you enough to THINK!
yeah i'm surprised too....he actually save the day
Thanks so much for upload
And to this day, people are oblivious to their surroundings.
The first animated Frigatebird. As I know there hasn't been one since.
274 days and he helped destroy an enemy fleet? He deserves leave for sure. Go get that hot af girl he's dreaming about.
The feathers add a certain exotic vibe!
Tin Can also is the Nickname of a Navy Destroyer
@DiabloSandwich59 Yeah, this was a wildly different kind of SNAFU cartoon that had Chuck Jones written ALL over it.
Why wouldn't he be happy to be stationed in a tropical paradise?
Didn't you see the weather report? It's not exactly the most pleasant.
This is why I'm organized (all those piles).
@Duvmasta I think it's the first animated Frigatebird! Though rather cartoony.
Yes, there is a fetid fish episode of Strike Witches. Mio Sakamoto was the one going down for that one.
Whats the music in the background called? I heard in a march in "Kelly's Heroes"?
Is it just me, or does Snafu look a little like Elmer Fudd in this one?
DiabloSandwich59 Snafu's head is smaller than Elmer Fudds
Same illustrator, so the line & style are the same. No need to wonder😎😎
Should've given the bird daffy duck's voice and have Snafu unable to understand him.
@silenttakuza the real hero was the black zopilote
Looks Like Dr. Seuss.
That's because Dr. Suess wrote it.
the cartoon was awesome. you all are asking pointless questions
rommel2222224 no we are not

Might as well indoctrinate rabbits than any more Snafus!🤷🏼♂️🤓😎✌🏻
@marxyouth u r right.
@kingpie1012 Yes Indeed. I get a flushing sound when I drop a bomb into the toilet too! Of course, mine is manually operated.
Is that a cormorant?
Good call. ^_^
Man, I hate it when my Japanese homies eat pickled fish eyes and rice
Ugh... Sushi eyes
More Mel Blanc. Every voice sounds like Bugs Bunny variants.
Variant? Snafu straight up sounds like bugs!!
The NERVE of Daffy Duck...ruining Our Friend Snafu's Wet Dream!!
...and they had the AIR FORCE Song back then??
It was the Army Air Corps.
It's an anthropomorphic Frigatebird, not a duck.
Ahh...YES.
It was the Army Air Corps back then, and yes, their song was written in 1938.

And wouldn't it be "J" rations?🎎🤓😎✌🏻

Trump must watch this movie.
