omg thank you so much for this video! i think a 60’s-70’s inspired one story house would look incredible with these items, especially the sidings and tiles. i’d love to see a house with a conversation pit, i’ve never seen that in the sims but i think that would be cool (especially with the sectional couch from dream home decorator).
Biggest disappointment? No matching dishwasher for the kitchen appliances. I will never understand why we only have three, after all these years (plus one reward one?)! Most excited about the shower/tub combo, and the piano, as I own an upright piano irl, and love it so much. Also, that really small, low window looks like it may work as a transom window over the top of doors or archways? It might be a good way to fill up the wall when building with medium wall height. I can't wait to try that out. Thanks for the overview!
As a Californian, so much of this pack has already made me so nostalgic for my childhood in and around San Francisco, but those golden flowers from debug made me audibly gasp. That’s our state flower!!! They’re Golden Poppies!!! Little details like this just make me so so happy
for real!! I'm a So Cal native and seeing our flower brought me so much joy. Now I can create landscapes and gardens that have a more personal and relatable touch :)

Same! I’m from Sacramento but went to college in SF and lived there for 6-7 years, worked at Sbux at the wharf and I honestly feel like they nailed it. I know people are disappointed that a lot of the water and lots aren’t usable. But honestly that’s kinda how sf is at the wharf especially lol. The nostalgia is real.

This pack is so ideal for dorks like me who almost exclusively build community lots. I saw that we get another 20x40 lot which is super weird and challenging-I’d love to see what you would do with it, I love your community lot builds.
The weird tall chair is for privacy, they are pretty common in universities, I loved them for studying. Weird that they are coming with this and not DU, but maybe they are meant for the rec center?
I'm SOOOOO Happy that we're FINALLY getting an Upright Piano! I've been wanting one for SOOOO FUCKING LONG XO I love having my sims live in Tiny homes, and those big-ol' Grand Pianos are usually a sign of the end of Micro-Home living when you're in the Musical career o3o I pre-ordered this cuz I just want it so bad. Yes, I know that Pre-Order is bad, but my memory is trash, so I just bought it when I saw it. No need to remember release dates anymore =D
This video reminds me of how you always use the beloved douple cuttingboard, but maybe not as much as some "ugly" or "unconventional" items/flooring/wallpaper. I would really want you to see a little challenge build where you'd use at least 5 of your least favourite/unused items and make it a beautiful build! I love your content and it really cheers me up everyday 😊 Keep up the great work 💕
Ohhh I am *super* excited about the wooden toddler potty and the toy box; toddlers have long been the bane of my historic/fantasy/off-grid builds because so much of their furniture is plasticy and doesn't suit a handmade style... also Very into the upright piano (I've had a modded one in my game for so long but always forget to use it) and a new style of bike
The big unusual looking chair reminds me of chairs we had in our libraries when I was in college. It gives you a sense of privacy when studying in a somewhat open environment. Honestly I love them. Slink back in one with a hoodie on and catch a nap. Granted ours didn’t look like, but I got what the sims team was going for. Makes sense with the new community lot. We also had comfy chairs with the desk/tray attached that swung back and forth to let you in and out that you could study in. Be neat to see something like that in the game as well.
I'm amazed at how few toys there are for kids. I would have thought that seesaws, little ovens, bake sale tables, dress up chests, hopscotch, kites, toy machines, etc might make a comeback, and that there'd be more new stuff- but I guess not. Really disappointed.
The blue 'glass' in the wood coffee tables is actually more common than any kind of clear as it is resin and is meant to represent water and wood (sometimes they look like ocean and beach). It's very, very common to see this sort of artisan piece in my rural part of the world. Chopping boards, dining tables etc wood resin furniture.
Not EA finally learning to make consistent wood swatches and proper sets of windows and door in this pack and cottage living (and basically nothing else!) What is this, character growth?
I always have a pool in my worlds that I take my families to for outings, where I have an adult pool, a smaller "kids pool", a playground, lots of towels, etc and I just can't wait to renovate it with the new splash items
I'm so excited for the update bit also this Pack! I told myself I wasn't going to buy the pack for a while but now I really want it after seeing all the objects! I love the beds sm 😭❤️
i know right!!! I told myself i was going to wait for the inevitable sale afterward so that I didn't pay full price but also like, some of these items are SO pretty I think it's worth paying full price for it!! Just a little worried about the bugs and such that come with a new big expansion pack (like high school years lol)

thank you for the detailed video! some of the modern stuff feels disjointed to the more traditional style stuff to me. I know craftsman style tends to be more trendy now with "modern farmhouse" type stuff, but the super modern stuff clashes to me. and I can't believe they didn't include new counters and cabinets. 😭 considering the new shower/tub combo, appliances, and sink, this would have been a great opportunity for more higher end counter types for modern farmhouse style kitchens. 😭😭😭
I love the build buy objects so much I literally cannot wait for Thursday now. However, the monstera and snake plant being grouped together and not individual makes me want to sob.
Disappointingly few gameplay objects. Treehouse, kids bikes, game table and whale sprinklers. (oh and the infant mat) Four gampelay items and only one of those that is totally new! I hope they'll all be group interactable at least (group bike rides). What a shame the rocket dollhouse was not in fact a dollhouse. I can't believe children didn't even get another outdoor activity like a see saw or something.
Horse/Unicorn and Fairy symbolizm is heavy in this pack. I was a bit skeptical but then i saw the literal bear with fairy wings ontop of the unicorn and i was like "okay yeah they're definitely coming in a pack together"
The glass on the door reminds me of my grandmother upstairs door leading out onto a deck i can remember always being up there and seeing that glassware on the door and it was so pretty 😍 I am always drawn to that because of her rip meme ❤

I was explicitly told by SimGuruNova that they purposefully did not do a Build Overview in the Livestream because it would take too long and the "GameChangers" were expected to do this anyways so they didn't. I'm honestly furious that I was very bluntly told to go find all the Creator Network Simtubers & basically pester them into posting this type video so I could decide if I want to buy the pack or not. Thank you for posting this so quickly.
I finally understand why they chose to model this world off of San Francisco. San Fran has a TON of art deco/mixed architectural influences. I wasn't initially sold on the world itself, but I LOVE the variety we got! It's going to be super versatile. I especially love that the more modern objects would be useful for both hyper modern and midcentury modern builds. The BB IS SO GOOD. I'm currently building out San Myshuno, and I will definitely be using this pack for my historical apartments! Edit: FINALLY! ANOTHER SHOWER/TUB I've been wanting a new one for ages, but knew it wasn't a priority!
I have a strong feeling they're going to announce a horse pack sometime within the next few months. During last year's Behind the Sims summit, they previewed concept art for new furniture in upcoming 2023 packs, and one of the two furniture sets was rustic/farmhouse themed. It instantly gave off horse owner vibes to me 😂 we have no way of knowing besides these clues or teases in these current items, but I really hope it's a sign of a horse pack coming this year!
I love the new kids bed. As kids my sister and I always had fun cutesy bedding with animals or rainbows or dragons and I love all the more modern bedding we already have, but this instantly makes me think of younger kids and it's so cute. The beds are one of my fave build items

The metal you mentioned looks like a container home texture. Is actually a standing seam metal roof texture for roofs I think not walls. It looks really good with craftsman style homes. Can't wait to see your builds with this ep. The pirate bear statue/bear unicorn/rocket ship, I think are decor items for the tree fort or just to use to free build kid forts of your own design.
World: NOTHING new .. Cas and Build: looks like scrapped items from previous packs. Honestly. Tons of UI and pop ups (had to add substance somehow) Is it just me or does it feel like this is a BUDGET pack for them to make compared to other expansions like cats and dogs, sessions, island living, city living. We should not be charged the same in my opinion. Even though I love the family gameplay I feel like I can see right through this pack.
Well, I had this pack on my wishlist but having just finished this video the importance of me getting it has gone up quite a bit. I haven't even looked at CAS for it yet but the build/buy seems fantastic! Thanks for sharing your time with us!

Most of the build items are very similar to those in previous packs and the world reminds me of a smash up of both Newcrest and Copperdale. So, nothing too unique offered in this pack like spiral stairs, more cabinet designs, carpets, etc.,.

I saw the board game stack and knew instantly I will be getting this pack. I will fit the board game stack on all my homes I build. So excited for this pack. Need the changing tables too.
I feel like they meant to put those changing tables in basegame... and forgot or said "forget about it--changing diapers on tables will be for this pack only!"
Probably the only really cool thing about this pack is the stuff. I doubt the gameplay will be innovative. They're getting better at making interesting items though.
Is it just me or some of the items that are for growing together were suppose to be included in the base game update. If you look back at the live stream they have the night light as base game update, but here it’s listed as EP content? Maybe I’m misunderstanding tho…
I wish we got a different kind of couch, I feel like we don't have enough good, basic (comfy looking) couches with lots of swatches in the game and I was hoping they would add one in here (instead of the styled couches) :/
I'm currently doing my best to not pick it up before it's out. I want to at least see some gameplay before I get it, but ... I'm loving what I'm seeing.
I think this might be the first xpac I will be getting on release day!! The tall box chair, I could see it in an office rental space. Like those places where you can rent a desk or office room for the day.
Those weird grasses are fiddlehead ferns! They grow in the shade in clusters like that and are very normal in the part of the country the pack is inspired by.
Locking the changing tables to Growing Together is sad because it means that we'll likely NEVER get any additional changing tables to match all of the other styles of furniture from the dozens of packs we've already had. It also means we'll never get any in the future to supplement.

They have one of these where I work, they got it for breastfeeding in a public area, it gives you a little privacy.

I saw the board game stack and knew instantly I will be getting this pack. I will fit the board game stack on all my homes I build. So excited for this pack. Need the changing tables too.
I feel like they meant to put those changing tables in basegame... and forgot or said "forget about it--changing diapers on tables will be for this pack only!"
Probably the only really cool thing about this pack is the stuff. I doubt the gameplay will be innovative. They're getting better at making interesting items though.

Is it just me or some of the items that are for growing together were suppose to be included in the base game update. If you look back at the live stream they have the night light as base game update, but here it’s listed as EP content? Maybe I’m misunderstanding tho…
I wish we got a different kind of couch, I feel like we don't have enough good, basic (comfy looking) couches with lots of swatches in the game and I was hoping they would add one in here (instead of the styled couches) :/
I'm currently doing my best to not pick it up before it's out. I want to at least see some gameplay before I get it, but ... I'm loving what I'm seeing.

I think this might be the first xpac I will be getting on release day!! The tall box chair, I could see it in an office rental space. Like those places where you can rent a desk or office room for the day.

Those weird grasses are fiddlehead ferns! They grow in the shade in clusters like that and are very normal in the part of the country the pack is inspired by.

Locking the changing tables to Growing Together is sad because it means that we'll likely NEVER get any additional changing tables to match all of the other styles of furniture from the dozens of packs we've already had. It also means we'll never get any in the future to supplement.
