Hello Coach, thanks for your advice. I wanted to make a request of you. In my hospital there are few non-invasive ventilators and we have to use invasive ventilators like the Puritan Bennet 980 ventilator. I have seen that many RTs do not know how to configure the BiPAP settings on a ventilator of this type and use modes such as SIMV as spontaneous modes to simulate NIV . Sometimes I have even found that they set the spontaneous mode using the heat of the IPAP in the Pressure Support, which when added to the PEEP value the Inspiratory Pressure rises too high. I would like you to do a class to explain how to use the Invasive Ventilator like BIPAP, and how to use heat support pressure and peep correlated to the IPAP/EPAP value. I think this question is common to many RTs and it would be very good if it were clarified. I hope you understand what I want to tell you. Thank you very much for your time and wisdom. RT Omar Viera
Hey coach!! So I have a question. I'm not sure if you have a video over it, but I'm a now 2nd year rt student, and struggle understanding different vent modes, like in terms of doing SIMV+PS vs. AC/VC or really anything that we as therapists should consider which mode we're using and why.
A little off topic but can you do a video on the intubation process and ventilation settings for a neonate and child?!
Great topic, it's common to overlook alarms on NIV.
Love the new, I know it’s not that new, board
Thanks! I appreciate the positive comment. Thanks for watching.

Hi Joe, I really need your assistance. Can you tell me what are the biggest and best studies done of using NIV in asthma please?
Very useful thank you very much
Can you tell something regarding high intensity NIV ?

So the backup rate should be the same as the low rate alarm?
It depends on the set rate, but yes, I want to be notified if my backup rate is being initiated.
@@RespiratoryCoach thank you so much, we are just about to have our NPPV final check off and your videos have helped me immensely:)
