Ali Shariati had a limited knowledge and he even did not know the background of Mohammed and his closest allies. None was poor, in the contrary they were all from very well connected and rich background. Mohammed belonged to the Banu Hashim clan, part of the Quraysh tribe, and was one of Mecca's prominent families, although it appears less prosperous during Muhammad's early lifetime. Khadijah became a very successful merchant. It is said that when the Quraysh's trade caravan travelers gathered to embark upon their summer journey to Syria or winter journey to Yemen, Khadijah's caravan equalled the caravans of all other traders of the Quraysh put together. Initially a rich and respected businessman, Abu Bakr later became one of the first converts to Islam and extensively contributed his wealth in support of Muhammad's work. He was among Muhammad's closest companions, accompanying him on his migration to Medina and being present at a number of his military conflicts, such as the battles of Badr and Uhud. Omar was born in Mecca to the Banu Adi clan, which was responsible for arbitration among the tribes. His father was Khattab ibn Nufayl and his mother was Hantama bint Hisham, from the tribe of Banu Makhzum. In his youth he used to tend to his father's camels in the plains near Mecca. His merchant father was famed for his intelligence among his tribe.[16] Omar himself said: "My father, Al-Khattab was a ruthless man. He used to make me work hard; if I didn't work he used to beat me and he used to work me to exhaustion. Uthman was born to Affān ibn Abi al-'As, of the Umayya, and to Arwa bint Kurayz, of the Abdshams, both wealthy clans of the Quraysh tribe in Mecca. Arwa's mother was Umm Hakim bint Abdul Muttalib, making Arwa the first cousin of Muhammad and Uthman his first cousin's son. Uthman had one sister, Amina. Ali's father, Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib, was the custodian of the Ka'bah and a sheikh of Banu Hashim, an important branch of the powerful Quraysh tribe.
@@themagichomie I listened in Farsi. I have listened in the past to Sharati. His depth of knowledge is very superficial and elementary unfortunately. He had tried to present Islam in a socialist or even Marxist way which was a dominant force back in 1330s to 50s in Iran. Hence Mothari had a very serious concerns about the take of Sharati from Islam. Sadly because of proper search and research in Iran which is still more or less the same, we still carry on the same processes and procedures.
You seem to have abnormally poor and absurd understading from Dr Shariati. You and narrow minded people like you may not listen to such speeches. Good for you to have Bin Laden's ideology! Engineer Ismailzada
Your expression shows obviously that you have NOT understood anything from Dr. Shariati's lecture. Listen at least what he says in 30- th minute of the speech. Do NOT feel embarrassed, just listen! Engineer Ismailzada
