Facts
This French lad is absolutely spot on. When he says the French had "experience", what he means is they are winners & they have a winning pedigree. Also, what he said about France's best players going out to the biggest clubs in the world & bringing that experience & winning mentality back to the national team is something that England lacks. France owed their 1998 WC victory to their key players playing in Serie A, which was the best league in the world at that time. Zidane played for Juventus, Thuram played for Parma, Deschamps played for Juventus, Desailly played for AC Milan. Not to mention Lizarazu who played for Bayern, etc.
Exactly. French players all play in the biggest clubs in Europe so they win a lot of titles with their clubs (except of course Lloris with Spurs...).
On the other hand, all English players are in EPL, only Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea players know what it is to win titles. All English players playing for other teams (Spurs, Everton, etc...) are trophyless, they don't have that winning mentality, they are happy with their big check and a 5th place in the league to play Europa league and that's all.

Kane cracks under pressure on every big ocassion. It started against Iceland and has continued throughout his career. Woeful against Columbia and even worse against Croatia. Trips over his own feet for the entire group in the Euro and carries that bad form into the knockout, notably in the first half against Germany. Then misses a hugely important penalty against Denmark and is extemely lucky to get the rebound. Then goes completely missing in the final against Italy. Kane just doesn't have the composure. Put him in a meaningless game against Southampton and he'll get you two goals and two assists. But when it really matters he shits himself and shrinks. The only top level performance I've seen Kane in was Hell In A Cell when he tombstoned Undertaker.

Don’t forget the Champions League final against Liverpool. Kane just didn’t step up but Liverpool that season were unbeatable. Kane is absolutely NO Romario or Van Basten or the Brazilian Ronaldo.
Eric hits the nail on the head. France don’t have a world class defense so they build the team around their attack and their ability to score goals. Southgate does the opposite.

Not for a penalty miss but he has been poor. 2 goals of which 1 penalty and England was one of highest scoring nations. In Euros he didn't score in group stages. Team needs to be built around Saka and Bellingham who are clearly better players.

One major problem for the French side : how can you give away 3 penalties (2 + 1 that was refused) in a quarter-final of a world cup, what is more, again a major opponent ?
Sooner or later, during this tournament, the French side will have to pay the bill
As much as I praise England for being arguably the better side in that 2nd half particularly (or at least as good as!) I have to say I was really disappointed with that 2nd goal given the fact France put 2 or 3 really dangerous crosses in Giroud golden chance a minute or so before he scored so we had our warnings and dint get out there and stop those crosses.
For this reason I'm not at all sure if we do score the 2nd penalty that we go on to win because it definitely felt France had more goals in them and we weren't dealing with defensively but even without key players they really are a quality team and I think any defence on the planet would struggle to keep them out, just felt like we switched off too many times though.

Ok, this narrative needs to stop, the excuses need to stop. Yes, it was most likely a foul on Saka, but that was literally near the touch line outside France’s box. They still managed to go from one end of the pitch to another, more than enough chances to stop the goal. Can’t keep making excuses after we lose, we can’t always be unlucky to lose, after a few times it’s no longer luck. We need to take it on the chin and improve.

A factor that is being too easily dismissed is Lloris is Kane's clubmate at Spurs.
I have to assume that Kane practices taking penalties against Lloris and Lloris practices saving them against Kane.
Each must know the other's body language inside out.
Perhaps someone has the stats but I think Kane's preferred strike is to the keeper's right.
Lloris correctly anticipates Kane is going to send the ball to the right again and if Kane spotted that in the run up he may have decided to go for height. Too much height as it turned out.
