I know this video is hilarious and yes it gave me some chuckles but I would like to take the time to give folks my thoughts on how things ended up for me personally and the light I can shed for everybody. Educators and Entrepreneurs have one thing in common. They both believe that every moment of "Feeling Sorry for Yourself" is a waste of time and I would like to say that fucken bullshit. We are given this Do More, DO MORE Narrative shoved down your throat. The further that you "Keep Trying" to accomplish your goals the considerably of your happiness will unfold. Life is about compensating for what you lack and contributing as much care and respect for your loved ones without holding them back. It took me 6 years to just figure that out the hard way. Feeling bad about yourself is a very Natural Part of Life and sometimes you end up doing it for years. Understanding the idea of appearing under accomplished and how it affects your presentability to your peers is a lifelong tough lesson we will endure together.
Being called Unproductive in the meanwhile of you being in the middle of your discouragement sucks ass because we live in an age where we get way too many frequent updates about each other. Highlight Reels are the Fakest Things around and that is what the entire Internet is to be honest. Folks used to not hear from each other for a long time and once they get a letter about how they are doing better now is how things were and should be. People love to talk about generation gaps by claiming what "Gen they come from" based on what Decade(s) they were born in. People want to judge others by what year they were born in based on each 10-year gap. Being told current adults are not as successful as the previous one is so repetitive. That is so fucken weak, like what is this Hogwarts! The phase of people being flustered by books written specifically by White Women that consist of "Being Categorized" was and never is a conflict it's just utter horseshit and yet stupid ass people keep doing it in real life.
Give any underperforming group of people a couple decades and they will become upstanding citizens just like everybody else. Have people lost the definition of patience or something? Well, my answer to that is everyone/everybody my age will rebuild their pride and manage our level of shame in a way that would make us respectable. People expect Progress to be made in a few weeks or a couple months for people to "get their life together". That will never happen. I measure progress by the level of how people are willingly able to reveal their flaws and vulnerabilities at the forefront. That takes a lifetime.

After high school, next thing you know it, you’re 21. Then your 25, then your 30. The time in between goes very fast. Most jobs only pay minimum wage, you only have like 3 close friends. Dating becomes harder. And you realize nobody cares about you, only what you can do for them. 😂

Graduated 2014. Never been in a relationship or even had my first kiss. I don't date and never have. About to be 27. It's gone by extremely quickly. Got an A.S. degree I never used. I don't exactly have the best job. There's a lot I wish I'd done sooner but I'm just trying to move forward as best I can, though the past does nag me from time to time. People change. Places change. Friends come and go. Time wears on everything and everyone. It's all so depressing. I just wish I could go back. I'd do it all differently. C'est la vie. Like I said... Just doing things differently as I move forward. There's no other way to go.

My dad got cancer right after my graduation. The next year my dad was gone. Not trying to get sympathy y'all, I'm just saying if you are healthy and your family is too, that's what matters. Put things into perspective. You don't need to be making a ton of money right after school. Maybe you want to take a break before looking for a job. Maybe you want to try different jobs until you find what's right for you. There's no rush (unless of course you need the money urgently). I guess this goes for both college and high school graduation, though I was referring to college in my case.

Domestic violence, family violence, deaths, being homeless, going through poverty, health issues, mental health issues, and actually dying TWICE on two separate occasions due to seizures but luckily the doctors were able to revive me both times. Now that I'm about to be 30, I feel much happier being an adult rather than being a child. I have more freedom, no more toxic people in my life, and I've been epilepsy free for three years now. As much as I try to savor my past as an adolescent, I know those to be the most miserable of my so-far known years b/c I felt lack of control of my own situations (mainly cause I’m a people pleaser). If you're in school here are some things I wish I knew back then:
    1. (If at all possible) Try to get internships in your relevant field or the next best thing get some sort of office experience. Yes, working retail or other odd summer job is better than nothing but it will make getting your foot in the door much harder. This was also confirmed from my time working in recruitment. I realize this is easier said than done but what I wish I focused on the most.
    2. Try to solidify your academic references. Even if you don't think you'll ever want to get more schooling past college don't close this door! Trying to get an academic reference once you've left school is much harder.
    3. Post-grad: If you find yourself in a tough spot where after a few years you're still unemployed or underemployed you may want to consider enrolling in a two-year professional program with a co-op or internship option. More school isn't always the answer but it can help you reset your clock. It gets harder to find a job if you have a large gap after graduation. Of course this may not work for everyone but it can be a second chance if you have the means to do it.
These things may not apply/work for everyone but they were relevant for me personally and also in my position hiring recent graduates.

The ACCURACY. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in August of 2021 and it feels like time has gone by so fast. The pressure to get a "good job" was so intense. I remember doing 100+ job interviews/ job applications for the "good jobs" (meaning anything that wasn't minimum wage) and guess what? For all of those "good jobs" they didn't care that I was a fresh graduate. They usually only wanted people with 5 years minimum experience for the "entry level" jobs. I didn't get hired for any of those "good jobs". So I briefly worked at a minimum wage job at a hotel but I resigned after only being there for a little while. The phycial and mental toll it was taking on me was not worth the measly pay. I literally made more an hour as a baby sitter in high school then I did working at a job with a college degree at 22. So I left that job. I am super fortunate and grateful that I was able to find a job with an NGO helping refugees because I feel very fulfilled doing that. After that tramitizing experience I had working at that hotel getting yelled at by Karen's, getting harassed by creppy men and being treated like crap, it was a huge wake up call for me. I knew that I was not going to put myself through somthing like that again. So it took a few months finding my current job but I'm much happier now. I may not make a ton of money but I know I'm making an actual difference. I also realized that we only have this one life, so we should make the most of it and do what we are passionate about. It even gave me the guts to start my own little youtube channel and start pursuing hobbies that I am passionate about!💚

Dont stop thinking for a way out, Life is like a maze, its problem solving and finding ways. Failures are unavoidable, that is right. but the bad things the failures left can be useful too, (stress, etc.) so make sure to make use of it and use it for your next way out."

After that I argued with the teacher to give us proper graduation but only said were doing it online and that's what you get deal wth it. since then I had to face reality with all the events that happened that year and shows how life is sad and depressing, as well since then I have post graduation depression which to this day I say I never graduated and since then my life changed forever.

Write down your long term and short term goals on a piece of paper. What career do you want to go into ? What passions do you have ? If you finished high school you have the bare minimum already. If not, focus on getting your GED as soon as possible.
When writing a resume for work, you can add any volunteer work or community service you might've done in the past since you don't have work experience. Once you get an entry-level job somewhere, start saving up a portion of your money in a savings account; try not to spend too much of it on useless things. From there you can work on getting your license, then driving lessons.
Take things step-by-step. Focus on one thing at a time until you figure out what you wanna do with your life. As far as jobs go, UPS/Fed-Ex package handlers are easy hires; as well as seasonal retail jobs (most retail for that matter will hire people).

It’s not for everyone, but if you don’t have a plan in life like me, getting a degree is a really good start for some sort of future, even if it’s not the ideal one you wanted. Idk if its just me but i dont really feel like life is going by too fast, i also graduated in 2019, yea maybe 2020 went by a bit fast but i feel like 2021 and 2022 felt like they lasted a while to me, maybe thats because i went through a lot of changes, i had like 3 or 4 jobs, met a lot of people, moved twice, discovered new things about myself and what i want to do in life, and i really took my mental state from a place of darkness and insecurity to hopefulness and happiness. I guess my point is, yea, if you keep harping on the year you graduated high school, harping on the fact that life is going to come at you fast and youre scared of the unknown (everyone is), then youd be scared of life too. However if youre always working on yourself, trying new things, meeting new people, then youll learn to not fear life, but instead to be ready for anything that comes at you. While high school was nice, i really wouldnt want to go back, im happier with my life the way it is now than it was then, and i wish you all the same.

Graduated HS in 2016, went to college for 1 semester then dropped out 🤣🤣 applied for some low entry jobs, saved up money, enrolled myself in culinary school, worked in some restaurants and finally landed a decent paying job as a Commis in a cruise ship, traveling the world while cooking.

Take your time! Get a job and learn how to budget. Budget for things like pleasure and put money away for an emergency fund. Don't touch that money unless you have to. Your older self will thank you later. Start saving now and pay your bills on time. Then research and try different things that you can see yourself having a career in. If you already have a passion/dream this is the time to develop your skill set and smartly invest your TIME in it. The time to make mistakes is now. It gets harder to do so once more responsibility is on your plate as life goes on. Focus and learn about yourself! Be SELFISH for yourself.
Make sure you build yourself up financially, materialistically, physically, mentally, and spiritually if you're into that type of thing. Make sure you have these things in place so you have a foundation to stand on. You need your own things just in case you have no one to rely on when things go sideways, which they will bc this is life. People come and go. People change over time. So project yourself bc people will use you and throw you away. Learn to be aware of these people and cut out those toxic ass people out. They will try bring you down. It's okay to say NO and set up boundaries to find peace in your life.
All the other stuff like love and etc will come later. You have to learn how to love yourself bf you can love someone else. You have to learn how to take care of yourself bf you care for someone else. And if you need therapy get help! It's a strength to look at yourself and realize you need help. DO NOT burden yourself with those destructive thoughts/ emotions. It will destroy you from within. You have to learn how to manage your stress. Get a hobby. It will help. If you can't afford therapy look for free services, like minded communities or trustworthy friends/family where you can talk freely of your burdens in a safe space. We all need help sometimes and that's okay.
Anyways, Take your time. Take calculated risks. Be open and take care of the people who truly have your back. They're your treasure. And LIVE for yourself.

Im a 34 year old husband and dad with a great career with good pay. Some advice for young men. Take your risks now career wise while youre young its harder to do so when your family relies on you. Work as soon as you can and move out as soon as you can. Stop depending on your parents financially. Adopt responsibility and take on as much as you can manage because this gives your life meaning. Social media and looking at the lives of others will give you a disadvantage in concentrating on yourself. Learn to cook, use tools, and clean up after yourself. This will save you money. Make your own coffee and pack your lunch. If you can find a way to make money for yourself or your own business do it. Marriage isnt a burden and neither are kids be careful of anyone who tells you otherwise. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Listen to quotes from philosophers. Friends come and go but family is always there. Forgive your parents and settle any issues that bother you with them no matter how trivial. Hug your loved ones . Show gratitude towards your elders and those who died to make our lives better. Resist apathy and nihilism. Limit your video game and computer time. Time spent not investing in your future is time lost. Have children they really do change you for the better.
    End old man ramblings

Life outside of high school is only hard if your mind never left high school. Grow up, realize the world doesn't revolve around you, take some responsibility for yourself, don't be an idiot and you'll do just fine. Which is why people who jump straight into college have a harder time making it when they get out of college. They're in their mid-20s and they still haven't adopted that real world mind set. They're stuck in "party mode!" and they haven't learned that adult life isn't one big fucking party, but life teaches them that pretty quickly and they get depressed

Not everyone who goes to college will have debt though. Go to community college first, then finish at 4 year university. If ya do good in classes, you can get scholarships and grants. If ya gotta, then you can take interest-free (until 6 months after you graduate) loans. Only reason I have debt is because I didn't want to work during some of my university. I never needed the loans. I was able to live with parent though so working at walmart let me save up a decent amount.

This is Precisely why I got stressed and depressed and, yet, so many of my friends and family don't understand why.
When kids graduate, so many people just expect them to just go out into life and just start Doing it.
School doesn't teach kids how to actually live comfortably and Function in this society without having to work long hours and nearly Kill themselves while doing it and Then has the nerve to say that "That's life.".
On top of that..., when those kids graduate... people need to remember that they're still just Kids. You can't just throw them out there and just expect things to just Work. That's ridiculous, that's like expecting a newborn to walk the moment it's born. Growing up it would've great been to have classes on: How to manage stress and other negative thoughts and emotions, how to navigate the job market, being financially literate, understanding politics and governments, y'know, instead of just leaving us to figure the shit out on our own, because "That's life."
But most importantly, they need to understand how Overwhelming all of that can feel. It's the death of your innocence and a lot of people don't take that as seriously as they should. Hell, studies show that the brain doesn't fully mature until at Least age 25. And sometimes even later than That. Moreover, I'm speaking from experience. I ended up locking myself away for 4 years because eventually... the world as a whole... it all just became too much to deal with and it was easier to just disappear into my own bubble and just forget about the rest of the world for a while.
There's stuff you have to go through, life lessons you need to learn,
Sad realities you're just gonna have to accept.
No matter How depressing they are.
