absolutely brilliant. I couldn't have done it without. Few comments. The overall objective is to remove the front panel which contains the touch screen film. (BTW this video replaces the whole LCD unit - we just wanted to replace the touchscreen FILM ( £65 !) itself. But that aint easy lots of other stuff needs removing as well. Another thing : When referring to "sliding the tray try out the back" were talking bout the TOP tray ( well there aint no other 🙂 Another thing : There is a 240volt connector cable (from the 240 v switch on the RHS) that digs into the black transformer plastic box on the bottom left which in our case came adrift (the connector that is) . (The view from the side ie the side where we poke the 2.5mm Allen key in.) No way - we were completely and utterly stuck until we just happened to locate the hidden 2 pin 240 v socket on the top of the black plastic transformer cover. Transistor sister to the rescue. Phew. "Repairing a Touchscreen" is going on my CV.
Thank you very nice video for an orphan machine which I will attempt to replace the backlight on. What is the LED light replacement called? Where can you buy one?
Very helpful thank you. My husband replaced the backlight and it works fine but when the machine turns on it says there is a "Stepping motor error". The machine worked fine before replacing the backlight just couldn't see the dark screen, would you have any idea what might be causing this. When the needle is in the down position the error doesn't come up but as soon as the needle is raised the stepping motor error comes up.
We would recommend you to double check all of the connections in the machine as often this is due to a loose connection somewhere inside the machine. If otherwise you would have to find a sewing machine mechanic to double check.
Dulwich Hill Sewing Centre I have a Janome memory craft 9000 the dealer I took it to said my screen is shot and the factory no longer makes this screen. is there anything or anyone available to fix this?
Hi, do you have any experience with Janome 4300? I’m getting error e4 and I think is the circuit board, since the shops are closed in my area I’m looking for some info. Thank you
To remove the screw under the carriage, you turn a wheel that moves that carriage, I do the same but it's the needle that moves and not the carriage. Why ? If you can answer me, thank you. Pour enlever la vis sous le chariot, vous tournez une molette qui fait bouger ce chariot, je fais la même chose mais c'est l'aiguille qui se déplace et pas le chariot. Pourquoi ? Si vous pouvez me répondre, merci.

I replaced the backlight and all was well until my wife tried to select stitches via the touch screen. Only the 2 on the left work.I calibrated the memory? but still doesnt allow more than those 2 stitches. Could I have left a connector unattached or does one connector work for all the stitches?
What does it mean when my machine has a message on the screen, “stepping motor error” on it. It won’t sew or do anything else. I recently bought it at an estate sale for $20.00 figured it was worth the gamble. It’s an 8000. It doesn’t look like it was used very much at all.
Someone gave me an 8000 yesterday; she said it didn't work but I could see what I could do with it. I got the stepping motor error. I pulled the embroidery card out and pushed the embroidery arm back toward the machine. I no longer get the error, but I realize the screen is really dark. I don't know if I want to spend money to find out there's something else wrong.
Its very detailed video. My mc8000 has suddenly stopped working at all. Before that i t made a sound like fuse blown. Now when i turn it on only light bulb light up& rest of the machine is dead. I wll be greatfull if you can suggest anything.
@@jyotisharma7620 I have the same problem, since it was accidentally plugged into 220V. I have the same problem. I found that there are 3 plugs in the end of the foot. Remove them and you can use a screwdriver to move the embroidery carriage. Eventually mine freed up and the stepper motor error disappeared. Our local Jenome agent told us that it couldn't be repaired and offered to sell us a new one....
@@zhaozhao6148 There are 3 plastic / rubber plugs to block the holes. If you remove them you can see the end of the shafts that make the plate move. If you use a screw driver to rotate these shafts it will move the plate and free up the motors.
