I think this is brilliant...I'm going to try to expand on this by layering in multiple fiscal year options for clients....Thanks for this. This is the best option yet!

What are alternatives to the solution you presented? Is it possible to use Calculation Groups for that?

A nice addition would be to have the proper Quarter generate when selecting Fiscal or Calendar for a particular year

Great video ! It´s something that´s useful with any custom calendars. Instead of creating separate pages this would allows for you to keep the page the same. A nice addition would be to see a slicer that filters on a year, and either filters on calendar year or fiscal year.
Perhaps a calculation group would be useful to achieve that.
    Cheers,
    Rick

@Goodly But why not use a standard relationship in the model? What's the difference between the standard and dynamic relationship?

Great video! I implemented it. I just have one question though. How do you implement the sorting?
If i wanna do it PowerBI complains that I cant sort a column based on another column (sort) that has multiple values for the column that should be sorted. Makes sense, but I haven't figured out a way around it.

Hi, can you tell me if I need to switch the KPI value based on these fields (in my case, it's Month or Quarter), how exactly do we do because DAX measure is not working 😞

Can you use a single calendar that has both CY and FY columns? The CY column is the regular date, and the FY column as a derived column from the regular date.

Hi your instructional videos have very useful and you are excellent on how yow explain and create In Power Bi. I have seen the video on Fiscal year YTD and applied to one of my reports and also need to add FISCAL QTD and FISCAL MTD. I would appreciate if you create one video. Best regards

This is very useful and the concepts you explain are clear, although there is one measure in the sales table "Sales Base Measure', how did you write that measure ? Thank you

    • @GoodlyChandeep
      @GoodlyChandeep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I guess the Sales Base Measure is = SUM ( Table[Sales Column] )

Hi, i found the following article :"Calculate Fiscal Week in Power BI" from you - Outstanding and saved me hours of work.
Is it possible to do a short video wrt this article.
Where i am stuck is, in the IF statement after the VAR "FiscalStartMonth" you have "1" - I don't understand this.

    Hi Chandeep,
Thanks for the video. You are very helpful.
I have one quick question for you, please...
I have a fiscal date table setup in my PowerBI. I'm trying to do Y/Y calculations with the SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR function. The function itself works, but, given that our fiscal year doesn't start on the exact same day every year, I'm running into an issue.
I.e., FY21-Q1 began on February 1st, 2020 whereas FY22-Q1 began on January 30th, 2021. For my Y/Y calculations, PowerBI obviously doesn't consider this... So, PowerBI compares January 30th, 2021 to January 30th, 2020 rather than February 1st, 2020. Instead of comparing exact dates to exact dates, I want to compare Day 1 of Week 1 of Quarter 1 of FY21 to Day 1 of Week 1 of Quarter 1 of FY20... Does this make sense?
    Any ideas?

@@GoodlyChandeep Sorry, I’m afraid my company is very strict when it comes to sending Excel and PowerBI files to external email addresses. I don’t have PowerBI on my personal computer, so this is not an option either…
Please let me know if there is anyway else I can help because I am desperate to solve this problem.
