-5 yards in the second half is big. I really liked the play of Nick Herbig and on offense Cordarrelle Patterson was a great pickup in the offseason.

Our defense is top tier and number 1 in the league for sure I could see 12-5 or 11-6

After week 11 our schedule is buns tho, I see a 10-7 or 11-6
@dgtwr we went 4-2 and 5-1 in the division the past 2 years with Kenny Pickett, Matt Canada, a worse oline and a worse defense...its not that hard of a schedule because we had the best record with the worst roster for 2 years in a row.

Fields’ mobility and ability to be incredibly accurate passing both on the run and in the pocket was the missing piece, it expands the playbook and causes opposing defenses to be forced to spy in some fashion, which in turn disrupts the entire defensive playbook, the defense has always been there, the receivers as well, but that o-line upgrade and Fields turned things around on a dime. This year we get number 7.
Fields is the exact opposite of “incredibly accurate”
That defense is monstrous. -5 yards and 0 points allowed in the second half against the number 1 rushing offense. Before the season I thought they'd go 12 - 5 and I feel validated. I think they will be good enough to make a playoff run by the end of the season.

12-5 and they can make it to the AFC Ship for sure if they have home field and stay healthy. The passing game will become more explosive as the season goes on and the OL gels and hopefully stays healthy. We don’t even have Semaulo yet. But teams that play great defense and can run the ball will always have an advantage come PO time.
Love the Steelers! Offense is still a work in progress, when they come together this team will be unstoppable if they can stay healthy.
Once Art Smith settles in to the offense, this team could actually push into the playoffs.
Herbig and Watt could cause a lot of problems for offensive lineman, I like Highsmith but I just think that he needs another DE on his side for him to be highly effective because he doesn't have the high skill set that a player like Watt has. 🤷🏾♂️
One of the biggest improvements this year, that i see, is the Offense is able to possess the ball more consistently.. less 3 and outs. They don’t throw up as many points as we want.. but as long as the D gets a few minutes to rest between possessions, they can stay fresh and high intensity more consistently. Imo, the 3 and outs of the last decade have been way too much and have been hurting our D for a long time. Some years worse than others. This O, clearly thanks to our new coordinator, is being much more consistent on at least not going 3 and out over and over and over. Hopefully the O will continue to improve and put up more points like today.. but even just playing clean and giving the D time to rest between possessions, is going to keep us in nearly every game.
50% 3rd down conversions in 2 of 3 games, really good conversion in the other. That wears opposing defenses out. It just snowballs the game and lets the Steeler defense rest.

If the Steelers offense can start throwing more touchdowns, and get some big leads sky's the limit for how many wins they can get
I believe if Fields remains qb he has to shake the past off of 3 years of running for his life. Once he gets comfortable with the offense I think we will see never imagined. If he remains the starter. But if not he will still learn which will even make him more dangerous

When they play man to man its tough because the DBs are so big and physical. The QB needs time that hes just not going to have. They have multiple guys up front that can get 10 plus sacks. No other defense has that. And can cover in the backfield. This team built the perfect defense. Its going to be tough for any opposing QB.

This defense held 3 teams ti just 26 pts. That haven't happen in 50 yrs. But holding chargers #1 rushing offense ro -5 yrds in the entirev2nd half is just insane.

I think they can make a deep playoff run. We saw that the Chiefs struggled against the Cincinnati Bengals another big team that we have on our schedule. The Eagles lost to the Falcons who we already beat some wide receiver showed up big today for us Scotty Miller, Calvin Austin the third and Pat Fryer move. The Steelers will only continue to get better and better on office and our defense
Not with Tomlin coaching. Elite coaches at playoff teams have Tomlin figured out as soon as he walks off the bus.

we do not have an elite defense. If we did then they could function without TJ. If they were then Buffalo doesn't win against us in the playoffs.

Young Nick Herbig is a better pass than Alex Highsmith. Alex is bigger and might set the edge better due to his size, but Nick is special when it comes to rushing the passer.
Justin Fields has ended Russell Wilson’s career as the Steelers QB before it had the chance to begin! Pole position doesn’t mean that you can’t be passed!

They need another receiver. They have to have a second star receiver to throw to. They need that weapon for Fields to to throw to. He is playing well and the Steelers are designing the offense to his strengths, but he has to have another receiver that he can throw to to move the chains.
