A lot of Lakers fans were shitting on Austin Reaves for that final play where he gambled and lost on that steal. But if you watch that play again and pause to notice the nuance, you'll see it wasn't a bad attempt at all. That was just an unbelievable 3D chess move by Jokic. Here's why:
Dude had 6 turnovers this game. Not Jokic's best in terms of ball security. One thing that worked multiple times throughout this game was sending a double when Jokic wasn't looking. Led to a couple of turnovers. But if you pause right before the attempted steal, you'll see Jokic isn't looking at Reaves at all... in fact he doesn't even seem to know he was there (but he in fact did). Knowing that the Lakers tried this sort of double team multiple times earlier in the game (again, successfully), he pretended not to notice Reaves, intentionally let him get as close as possible before a steal was possible, then super quickly pivoting the basketball above his head. Oh, and all in the same motion, he immediately looks at an open Porter in the corner (knew exactly where to look right away), and dimes him up for the most open 3 of the game.
Check. Fucking. Mate.
Nobody should give him shit. Lebron fumbled it before with that dumb clanker when trying to be the hero again. After that it slipped away. You could see the energy change instantly when he failed miserably, that late into the game. Lakers basically gave up after that and allowed 6-8 quick points in a row afterwards. They simply did not believe in it anymore.
I will be so happy once Lebron picks up his bag and goes somewhere else. Finally rid of that dude.

Ask a neutral fan watching this game, I watched the first whole half and then had to come back later to watch highlights but if you get a chance to watch the first 5 minutes, it was some of the most entertaining basketball i've seen for a while. It had everything, tought 3s, multiple steals, multiple blocks, multiple fast breaks and more.
