My wife just told me yesterday she wanted a ladder shelf for her bathroom and this fits the bill perfectly. Thanks for sharing and the step by step instructions.
This is great! The one answer I haven't been able to find is at what angle the bottom of the sides need to be cut in order for the ladder to lean level to the floor. Could you please reply? Thank you.
I would suggest just 1 inch screws or 1 1/4, because my 1.5 inch came through. Other than that, thank you so much for this tutorial. My shelf turned out great!
Hi, First start off by cutting a 10 degree angle on the bottom and top of the side rail, so that it will lean against the wall. After you have the 10 degree angle on the top, just put the square on the top of the rail and it will give you the angle automatically.
Good video, I'm going to use this to make the same shelf for my wife. Can you turn the music down next time? I turn the volume up to hear you talk and then the music is way too loud!!!!
Hopefully this is taken as constructive criticism... You have to fix the audio levels on this... The music is so loud it makes your ears bleed, so when you speak after we turn the music down, you're at whisper levels. Nice build, btw!
Nicely done and well thought out. Great weekend project. Thanks for sharing
THANK YOU

Thanks, I agree. 1 1/4" screws may be better.
Notice that he put the screws in at the BOTTOM of each shelf, so they entered the shelf itself. No danger of poking through.
How do you know the angle to cut the top to be flush against the wall? I didn't understand that part.

Do you fasten it to the wall at all? or do you just trust that it won't slide out?
It is not attached to the wall in any way. It just leans against the wall.
Beautiful! Im going to make one. what stain did you use?
Thanks. The stain I used was MINWAX Wood Finish, Dark Walnut 2716.

Ok, Thanks for letting me know.
how did it turn out?
How much did it cost to make?
It depends on what you currently have on hand (i.e. screws, stain, clear coat). The wood materials cost about $30-$35.
@@racowoodworking147 ok thank you
