What’s the time stamp?
No that's compassion. Empathy is literally being able to feel what someone else feels.
It's an important distinction because many very good people can't feel that. Can't understand what someone else feels. Don't have empathy. They do have what dad expressed there which is compassion. It's caring about what others feel.

The piercing guy was so kind. “I’ll still be here tomorrow, I’ll still be here next week.” He was great.
I just cannot thank y’all enough for letting your children express themselves and articulate their feelings. I grew up in a house where you sit down and shut up! To see them thrive, be open , PRAISED to be authentic and SPEAK UP. Just wow. It fills me with tears. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Fun story, girls; I was six when I got my ears pierced. I was so excited to go with my mom and grandma because it made me feel like a big girl. What I didn’t realize was that mom and grandma were getting theirs pierced for the first time too. And when we get there, they had me go first! 😂

I have a fun story too! I was 3 when I got my ears pierced and when they were done I was crying so much then my god put a sucker in my mouth then I stopped crying lol

@abbygadson2754 no thats the last place you want to be pierced guns are horrible for piercing as the don't pierce it is a blunt object forcing through the cartilage causes trauma and a fistula that isn't straight through.

I manage a piercing store and I was not only impressed with the piercer but how awesome y’all were with both girls. I’ve had parents that really push their children when they are not ready or get very angry if their kid gets 1 ear pierced but will not do the second.
Pain tolerance is subjective and both of you allow the girls to express their pain perception individually - lovely
yes and since Tiger has gone through something she considers more painful vs Cow not going through something as painful really makes a big impact on how they perceive the pain as well. So this can help parents and kids to make their own decisions based on what Tiger and Cow mention.

I love that you guys leave it for the kids to decide for themselves that's what I'm doing with my girls. My family wasnt happy about that because all the girls in the family got piercings at 6 months. But I feel like it's just jewelery it doesn't define gender it should be a choice and a positive experience. Love your family ❤
Only a person should define who they are. Not what they wear or lack of what they are wearing.
My sister has twins. They were very hard to tell apart. So they had their ears pierced at I think three months old. When I had my daughter eight months after the twins were born, my sister's were a little mad that I didn't get my daughter's done as a baby. I figured it wasn't my body, I didn't get to choose. I left it for my daughter to choose when or if she wanted to do it. I think around ten or for her tenth birthday my sister took her to get them done. She chose at that time to do it. One problem with many in our family is an allergy to nickel so only gold earrings for us.
It seems abusive to me to cut a hole in a baby

Always good to have big decisions on their terms. My daughter was 15 before she got her ears pierced and by 16 she got her ears double pierced. I’m sure they’ll love wearing fun and cute earrings after the initial stage.

Great advice from the youngest daughter. This happened to me as a kid at 9, the first was so painful so I didn’t want the second one. I was with my Dad and it felt like the lady forced the second side on me. When my Mom found out she was upset. Now I extremely rarely wear ear earrings because of the discomfort and I’m upset the adults in the situation forced me to continue when I let them know I didn’t want to.
Good parenting getting up and leaving and not trying to convince her to continue. She can rock that one ear ring for now and it can be a warning to other little girls they may not be ready or really want them.
We like to listen to the kiddos about how they are feeling and give them the ability to decide

My great aunt had her ears pierced for the first time when she was in her 70s! ☺️ She wore clip on earrings until that point. She lived to be 101, so she did get to enjoy pierced ears for almost 30 years.
I took my daughter to the mall for her first piercings. When she decided she wanted a second piercing set, we went to our local piercing shop, and did so again when she wanted a third set. I feel better that they are trained professionals. ❤
What a sweet rite of passage. Well for me it was! I went to the pediatrician when I was 11 and they used the “gun” method. I remember thinking it was going to be painful but it happened so fast that I didn’t even think it happened! So proud of Cow and Tiger! ❤

I'm over 70 and got mine done with a needle when I was 5. When I was 30 I got 2nd piercings with a gun. They used metal studs and my ears ballooned up.I still have my original first piercings and feel underdressed without earrings. Love your family ❤

Y’all are amazing parents to your kids! I love that y’all allow them to have their voices heard and you actually listen to them.
Good for you mom and dad for taking them to an actual trained piercer. The ear piercing “guns” they use in the mall are actually more damaging, can get infected quicker, and take longer to heal. Having it done at a tattoo and piercing shop usually has better outcomes, they still have a chance to get infected but not as easy, the needles they use are actually hollow, it removes a tiny bit of tissue, which makes them heal faster.

I have gotten my ears pierced twice from the mall guns and the first turned out fine but the second... well they got infected and I no longer have the piercing so I will definitely take my daughter when she is ready to a tattoo piercing shop

I guess we were all tearing up together! I didn’t expect to cry but then all of a sudden as the they got their ears pierced the tears just started flowing! 🥲😭
You absolutely did the best by taking them to someone skilled at piercings. The hand method is more gentle, less trauma to the tissue and heals faster and better. Awesome parents as usual and such a great approach making the girls feel under control and they have the final decision. Love your beautiful family.

My daughter doesn’t seem to have an interest in getting her ears pierced and I’m gonna wait till she’s ready but I can’t wait for that moment, and if she never is then that’s ok too. You guys are doing great, also it’s great that you guys went to a professional piercer because I heard a lot of problems can arise if you go to like Claire’s. You guys are awesome!

I really like that you don't pressure your kids to get their ears pierced. I am the same way! I want my kids to understand it's going to hurt a little (or a lot, depending on the person), and then the responsibility of cleaning them every day. I used to pierce ears and it was hard to stand by and watch parents try to talk to their kids into getting their ears pierced when they weren't ready.
When my daughter was about 4 to 5 years old I asked if she wanted her ears pierced and she said no. Now she's 13 and still just likes her ears the way they are. I've also tried to get her into makeup which is been a little bit more successful, but truly I'm just happy that she is happy with herself the way she is. That's invaluable

Honestly im 18 years old and that method of ear piercing seems terrifying to me too! I got my ears done with a gun at a piercing shop and it was so easy! So proud of cow and tiger especially cow!! i hope the second one goes smoothly! Also thank you momma for listening to your children
I'm glad you had a good experience with the gun. I did for my first piercing and so did my sister but for our second ear piercings her double and mine cartilage we both got infections and no longer have those piercings.
Your guys videos are helping me make it through my 16 hour shift (after working one yesterday) as a 911 dispatcher. My husband and I are starting a family soon and I did not have the best upbringing, so I am learning a lot from watching! Appreciate you sharing 🤎🤍

i'm getting my ears pierced today, and i'm glad i got to see not only a good reaction, but a reaction of someone being scared. i'm much older than cow, but i still have a fear of needles and i'm glad to see that the piercing people understand. it's also nice to know that if it does hurt, i'm not the only one who feels that way!

Not gonna lie...I teared up when Cow was crying...Such brave girls...I got my ears pierced at the doctor's office when I was around 6--(so way back in 1974 or 1975 😳 Holy Moly!) Anyway...when the doctor was done with the first ear I hopped off the table and said that I was done. 😂 My Mom made me get the other ear done and I jerked my head and that is why my ears are now pierced all lopsided. 🤣 I went to get second holes back in the 90's (I was around 24) and not gonna lie...I cried like a baby and ended up taking those bad boys out.😂 The whole point of this story is so that maybe if Cow reads it she will know that even adults cry and get nervous over it. You look good little ones. Great job understanding Mom and Dad.

Tiger is the superstar. Once you have braces you can handle anything. Folks done understand how intense the process paid can be as a consistent dull ache for several days after each adjustment. Also, the jabbing wires.
