I went to jr. and sr. high with Paul Auster, but we traveled in different circles. I enjoyed his memories of childhood that matched my own. I even recognized people in his narrative. I really enjoyed listening to his audio books.

I am currently writing my MA thesis on Paul Auster, so the TH-cam interviews have been quite a resource. When I defend my thesis in May 2020, I will imagine him sitting on my graduate committee.

Paul Auster looks very irritated with this strange interviewer and we too feel uncomfortable. Having say that, it is worth going till the end.

I found it interesting to listen to Auster, but I couldn't stand the other one, so I stopped.

Damn, Auster is a death ringer for Lionel Barrymore.

I love Paul Auster. One of the greats. I would've suggested a tiny edit to add a little dark humor and temporal dissociation. "...that you pee in your pants for the last time, you think." Then I would cross off that edit because the line was perfect and punchy and nothing else was needed. It would have been an unnecessary digression/source of confusion. Auster=essential.

Jeez, who is that pain in the ass interviewer? He makes it look like Paul is interviewing him. Couldn't stand the guy, so I switched off.

How can he stand the interviewer? The whole thing makes Auster look uninteresting: how can an intelligent man put up for so long with such a pathetic conversation?
