This book is amazing! But does anybody agree is a bit ridiculous that Zelda 2 and A Link to the Past concept art had only two pages, while Twilight Princess has 32 and Skyward Sword 61?
I think the reason for that is because Skyward Sword was coming out. So Nintendo and the LOK staff were promoting the game in the book. Skyward Sword also came out in the year of LOZ's 25th anniversary, in addition to this book. That is why it has the most artwork in the book. And Twlight Princess was the previous newest game, so they focused on it more than the others.
I wanted to get this but considering lots of the book focuses on TP which I didnt like and SS I really dont have much interest. Would rather see it focuses on all the games evenly.
The three golden goddesses are Din, Nayru and Farore. The stain glass windows of Ocarina of Time's seven sages adorn the room in Hyrule Castle where you obtain the Master Sword in The Wind Waker. It's awesome! Thanks for your overview of the book! ^_^
A great book, the only thing I'd probably have to say irked me was the fact that the section for Majora's Mask was so horribly small. I know it shared a lot of elements from Ocarina of Time, but it's my favorite in the series, and I wanted to know SO much more about the development of it!
Hyrule Historia was a little heavy on the Skyward Sword story, but other than that it's everything I wanted it to be and more! It's too bad it's technically outdated now :'(, maybe in another 25 years they'll have another! fingers crossed!
Fi always reminds me of those old 90s girla toys called Sky Dancers. I used to have one as a kid and I get reminded of it everytime I see Fi. (Google 90s Sky Dancers on image search to see what I mean haha) :)
the reason im not is because i like seeing what people are saying, but if its going to be a fight about religion over the comment section of youtube, i want it to stop before it gets to out of hand. so please just be nice.
The first Zelda game on NES was mine. I remember borrowing the system from my cousin when I was kid and playing it, I sucked at it lol but I was so intrigued and fell in love with the series then. My first Zelda game I actually finished was OOT. My mom bought me a N64 and got the gold cartridge of that game for Christmas. The memories..
12:05 - Those stain glass windows are in Wind Waker when you get the Master Sword. If you don't go to the pedestal and get the sword, you can walk around it and view them. Little Easter Egg. :)
This book has been ordered by so many people that places like Amazon are having trouble meeting demand. Preordering ahead of time is honestly the best way to go nowadays. I've learned from past experiences like yours too, so I know how it feels to wait on getting something great. You'll love it when it comes though. (=
There is one, it's called the Okami Official Complete Works, and is currently $26 on Amazon. Being made in 2008, it doesn't have Okamiden content, but it still has 288 pages of Okami goodness :) It's also paperback.
The stain glasses are in the game. They're in the part where you get the master sword, but I remember them not being one of the easiest things to notice, so don't feel bad for having not seen them.
the cover is from skyward sword gate of time. the stained glass is from windwaker. where you find the master sword if you look on the wall you will see stained glass of the sages.
I'm saying yes, especially if you're a Zelda fan. Helps you canonically and also gives you a massive insight to the series. One of the best books I own! (And I own a lot of books)
I bought mine today AND I FEEL SOOO GREAT AFTER THE PURCHASE! as Zelda fan i knew that i need this. Yes is a NEEED. Thanks for the video, i saw it like 5 times already
Pre ordered back in Oct last year and got it yesterday via Amazon. Very cool item indeed. I prefer this over the collectors edition because there is more detail on the exterior. I can deal without the leather bound cover, imprinted logo, and gold gilded pages.
think I can get it ordered in at my local comic book store? He orders in stuff a lot, and this is published by Dark Horse, and has a manga in the back. or is this only available over amazon?
Did anyone else see the little video come up at 5:31 to 5:35? It is really quick but it looks like it is trying to show something in bold letters on the page, wonder what it says..
The black and white drawings in the book, makes me wanna trace em and color em in! Just bought it! If your a Zelda fan, GET THIS HISTORICAL TOME! It's only like 25 bucks so preeety cheap in my opinion.
will the chronology section tell the full story of the game, or do i need to play the game first to understand? because i've only played a few zelda games,,,
For anyone wondering why there so much skyward sword: this book came out somewhere close to the release of the game. I think i almost got a version of skyward sword that came with this book? Might be wrong tho. Its because skyward is fairly important in terms of zelda lore. Just as important as ocarina of time
Yeah, I asked the guy at the comic book store about it. Apparently dark horse wasn't expecting a shit ton of people to buy Hyrule Historia, and they're in short supply now. not only that, but the last copy they had at the comic book store apparently sold the day before I came in
I just ordered this for about $15 (including shipping) on Amazon. I am going to talk about it in my next Nintendo Mail Bag video. Thanks for sharing some info. I skimmed through the video because I didn't want to spoil too much! :P
***** Shipping the book itself is probably around $8 give or take a buck considering the post office prices. Not sure if the price will go up or down as supply dwindles it might go up but it really depends on if there are reprints from publisher.
Here's the deal with Skyward Sword being the series prequel. It explains how the master sword becomes the master sword, how Hyrule becomes Hyrule, and how Demise will become stronger with his anger and will be able to break his imprisonment to become what we know in other games as Ganondorf.
I don't remember it saying, buy my guess was to have it stand out against the green tunic. Especially since his hair changes colors along with his tunic.
Looks as exquisite as I had hoped it would be. Mine's en route to be delivered into my arms in a matter of mere hours! ^///^ Thanks for the guided tour.
Yeah man! the stain glass sages are in Wind Waker!! When Link pulls the master sword from Hyrule castle under the ocean, it's in the background!! You'll be able to see it better when the remake is released for the Wii U
Ok the stain glass windows are in the windwaker where you get the master sword if you look around you you couldnt miss them even when i was 11 i was amazed at how much similar they were to ocarina of time then read that the castle in the windwaker was built over the temple of time that was in ocarina of time. any major zelda fan would know that! but thanks for the video
...i'm sure a million people have mentioned it by now but i'll say it anyway. The stain glass sages are actually in the room where you get the master sword in the windwaker. they're all around the room
I found it available on Barnes and Noble's website (bn.com), it was also available from Things From Another World (tfaw.com) but it's out of stock on that site.
no not in THIS case. look the game goes by a specific rule of "choose one path and an alternative universe will come from the opposite choice" link doesn't choose to lose. the only choices link has is A: go with the adventure and kill ganon some how. or B: NOT leave kokiri forest and thus ending the story before it begins for him. there is no choice where link could meet his sudden death by ganon as ganon would have no idea that link even existed.
When I'm an old woman and my grandchildren ask me to read/ tell them a story I'm going to tell them about the history of the zelda. :)
Plot twist: your grandkids will be a prequel to your mother.
blueravengirl yea same when I am an old man I will do the same to my grankids
Just don't get too deep into the freaky stuff like Majoras Mask and twilight princess..
Then show them the games!
S. L. Rose same

The three golden goddesses are Din, Nayru and Farore.
The stain glass windows of Ocarina of Time's seven sages adorn the room in Hyrule Castle where you obtain the Master Sword in The Wind Waker. It's awesome!

Best book in the world for a Zelda fan
Hyrule Historia was a little heavy on the Skyward Sword story, but other than that it's everything I wanted it to be and more! It's too bad it's technically outdated now :'(, maybe in another 25 years they'll have another! fingers crossed!

The Legend of Zelda is always a fun topic to bring up and talk about because there is soo much that can be dicussed about the franchise!
Fi always reminds me of those old 90s girla toys called Sky Dancers. I used to have one as a kid and I get reminded of it everytime I see Fi. (Google 90s Sky Dancers on image search to see what I mean haha) :)
I got this yesterday and i already dubbed it the zelda bible
Guy Planetside No
Guy Planetside No. God soaked earth to get rid of the sinful race of man. But failed... There is no godess who sacrificed herself for humanity here.
ok guys im trying to read manga and i keep getting annoying notifications, just stop e_e no one cares
the reason im not is because i like seeing what people are saying, but if its going to be a fight about religion over the comment section of youtube, i want it to stop before it gets to out of hand. so please just be nice.

I have not been a zelda fan for long but i am huge fan now... Just bought my copy of the hyrule historia.
Spirit Tracks was my first Zelda. It's so underrated and fun. The soundtrack is the best
The first Zelda game on NES was mine. I remember borrowing the system from my cousin when I was kid and playing it, I sucked at it lol but I was so intrigued and fell in love with the series then. You can just go pick it up at walmart for $25 in the book section
Got it yesterday took a week longer than it was supposed to. So Happy:)

The stained glass of the Sages is in Wind Waker in Hyrule Castle in the room under the Link statue.....if I remember correctly.
Pre ordered back in Oct last year and got it yesterday via Amazon. Very cool item indeed. I prefer this over the collectors edition because there is more detail on the exterior. I can deal without the leather bound cover, imprinted logo, and gold gilded pages.

I pre-ordered this as well. This was so, so very worth it.
did anyone else notice that box at th-cam.com/video/vnSisgUerRU/w-d-xo.html#t=334? what the heck is that?, 5:30
this doesnt have anything to do with the book but just out of curiosity how many zelda games have there been where link doensnt use magic if any?
Does anyone know what (or rather if) the difference between all the versions/editions of the Hyrule Historia are?
Does the History segment explain in further detail the 3-way timeline split of Ocarina of Time?
will the chronology section tell the full story of the game, or do i need to play the game first to understand? because i've only played a few zelda games,,,

You pre ordered it in 2011 when it came out I'm assuming and you got it in 2013. eBay has some bad shipping problems
Yeah, I asked the guy at the comic book store about it. Apparently dark horse wasn't expecting a shit ton of people to buy Hyrule Historia, and they're in short supply now.
not only that, but the last copy they had at the comic book store apparently sold the day before I came in
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the hardcover version (the one in this video) limited to a 4000 copy print? If so, glad I got one!
The stained glass versions of the sages from OoT ARE in Wind Waker, they are in the chamber where the Master Sword is held.
Going to go and buy my copy on Amazon today! Thanks for the great review!
I just ordered this for about $15 (including shipping) on Amazon. I am going to talk about it in my next Nintendo Mail Bag video. Thanks for sharing some info. I skimmed through the video because I didn't want to spoil too much! :P

Its 45 dollars, i wish i lived in Land of the Spoilt
The Wily Wimpod I never read my copy. Maybe I should post it on amazon.

I NEED THAT. I WISH I COULD GET IT IN A STORE.
Here's the deal with Skyward Sword being the series prequel. It explains how the master sword becomes the master sword, how Hyrule becomes Hyrule, and how Demise will become stronger with his anger and will be able to break his imprisonment to become what we know in other games as Ganondorf.
Hey! Listen! Those stain glass windows are in Wind Waker if you still don't know. They are an easter egg in the temple where you get the master sword
Oh well that looks fantastic, must pick it up one of these days.
cant wait til my birthday on the 25 when i finally get this book
the stain-glass windows are Right where you get the Master Sword in Wind Waker, their the window pieces around the room.
I don't remember it saying, buy my guess was to have it stand out against the green tunic. Especially since his hair changes colors along with his tunic.
I just got this book, and it's REALLY large. And I don't mean wide, it's very wide. But it's about one foot tall.
Well, there is a dessert train design in the game but the designs for it all changed fir the final version.
Looks as exquisite as I had hoped it would be. Mine's en route to be delivered into my arms in a matter of mere hours! ^///^
Thanks for the guided tour.
Do you have the link to the page by page video
Yeah man! the stain glass sages are in Wind Waker!! When Link pulls the master sword from Hyrule castle under the ocean, it's in the background!! You'll be able to see it better when the remake is released for the Wii U
Dude I have it and it explains a lot how the history of Link is so confusing, so many alternate time lines
I really need this book. Seriously I HAVE to have it. By "need" I literally mean need. It is not a necessity, it is a key item in my life.
12:00 Those stain-glass windows are in the Master Sword's room in The Wind Waker :)
Can't wait to get my copy of this!
1:46 what's the song
This is awesome, great job!
Wait is the timeline the timeline of the story or the timeline of the games? I got a little confused with that part.
Mine arrived today. BEAUTIFUL
Just ordered this book on amazon. Can't wait to read it all :-)
...i'm sure a million people have mentioned it by now but i'll say it anyway. The stain glass sages are actually in the room where you get the master sword in the windwaker. they're all around the room
My copy is less than 2 feet away from me...
I would too, but I don't know if I could handle the epicness, (afford it), or where to get it
where did you get that i want that book
depends on the game because the ocarina of time/Majora's mask timeline he's hylian. but i don't know in any other games
Will this ever be in stores
where do I can get it ¿?!!!
it´s awesome !
@Nintendo1365 it depends. Actual magic or magic items?
the stain glass is in the game... somewhere. i dont actually have the game but i saw them in a weird video i found.
I found it available on Barnes and Noble's website (bn.com), it was also available from Things From Another World (tfaw.com) but it's out of stock on that site.
There were alot cool character designs that I wish made it into the games.
Where was the third song from? I forgot...
Were can i get this or can i get it at all?
I hope they revisit the time travel idea and we'll get to see a futuristic Hyrule, although it could really mess up the timeline.
I was unsure wether to buy it, but now I'm sure I will
where do you get the book
I love the Legend of Zelda series!
i love how the book looks just like the book of Mudora from a link to the past
One day, this will be a text book in gaming classes
...I hope
Wa? I saw it in indigo months ago here in Toronto. :/ why are you guys just getting it?..
That was due to the limited colour pallet of the snes. Link's sprite was originally going to have reddish-brown hair
Does it note where majoras mask originates? I must know
Would you like to review the Limited Edition one? I could send it for a week or two for the video it is the same just cover is different
I got it on the 28th, and it is an amazing book.
Just ordered it 2 days ago it's coming maybe Friday
no not in THIS case. look the game goes by a specific rule of "choose one path and an alternative universe will come from the opposite choice" link doesn't choose to lose. the only choices link has is A: go with the adventure and kill ganon some how. or B: NOT leave kokiri forest and thus ending the story before it begins for him. there is no choice where link could meet his sudden death by ganon as ganon would have no idea that link even existed.
Ordering it now. This is great. Thanks ! :)
Went straight to Amazon after watching this. I have no regrets.
