"Look, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government" Dennis in 1 sentence destroyed the whole Arthur, Camelot legend
It was a solid joke but doesn't change a thing. The lady in the lake wasn't just some strange lady, she was doing the job she was legitimately tasked with doing by a compelling authority. She also was not distributing swords, she presented the symbol of office to the one she was tasked with giving it to. A supernatural chamberlain who has done no more and no less than resting the crown on the head of the heir apparent.
@@jamestaylor3805 "claimed destruction". Oh yeah...you're definitely the fun one to hang out with at a party. It's a comedy, run with it or find something else to do
What is the better action ... from Your decision: watch Holy Grail? I cant name one 🙂only maybe Life of Brian, but these two are very funny, but quite different movies, so, this decision is very perfect. Glad Your enjoyed.
monty python as a group only made 4 movies. their first one "and now for something completely different" was a reshooting of some of their most popular skits from their tv series. instead of watching this film i'd suggest watching their tv series "monty python's flying circus" instead. this was their second film. their 3rd film "life of brian," produced and funded by ex-beatle george harrison, is probably their most famous and critically acclaimed film. its very controversial for its "religous" themed humour. their last film, "the meaning of life," is full of great comedy but contains one particular scene that's in very bad tast. thanks for the video.
You bring up an interesting point, so I did a little casual investigation. Both films are about neck and neck on Wikipedia popularity Holy Grail has 100k more reviews on IMDb than Life of Brian Holy Grail is considerably more popular in Google searches Holy Grail tops most polls for best Monty Python film I'm actually kind of surprised too, but I'm struggling to find any metric in which Life of Brian is more famous/popular. Life of Brian did make more money at the time, on a much wider release though!
You took a big risk showing your dad this movie.
He laughed so hard I though he was going to have a cardiac arrest. 😂
This movie is humbling. Every time I watch it I realize im nowhere as funny as I think I am.
Literally a copout ha ha they couldn’t afford to buy real horses and they couldn’t afford to finish their own film 😂
Precious ... with your dad ;-)
Back then the credits were always in the beginning.
Prior to the 70s, yes. By 75, it was pretty common to have them at the end.
Hey. Navy man!
A Møøse once bit my sister...

That scene is arguably the best in the movie.
Definitely not their most famous movie. that is most definitely "Life Of Bwian(Brian)".
Indeed. Holy Grail is just most quoted by nerds.

Watch " Jabberwocky " .. released around 1978.. in ways it's better
I do like Jabberwocky.
This movie is a bunch of skits loosely making a plot. It was made on an extremely low budget - hence no horses.
