When people think of great musicians they often think of people who have perfected the art and science of their music. Young isn't a scientist or artist: he's a Master Alchemist.

Neil Young's early music - acoustic guitar and beautiful thought felt lyrics is by far my favorite. But his work with CSN and Crazy Horse is also fantastic. He is multifaceted and I enjoy every period of his career. Harvest Moon is one of my top 10 favorites.
Neil Young embodies music, he isn't tied down by the borders of genres, he just exists in music and floats freely in it. Somewhere I recall the comment about Neil: The music is always changing, only the bluejeans stay the same. In addition to acoustic and electric guitar, he's also remarkable on piano, organ, and harmonica. Speaking of lyrics (we weren't) check out "Don't Let is Bring You Down" from After the Goldrush. It doesn't get much tighter than those.
Don't forget El Dorado and Crime in the City ,songs that describes two diferents places ,the border and the city,in a cinematographic way. Also another great one, Change your mind. Very unclassifiable.
Not to mention the lots of piano songs he has done. After the goldrush, a man needs a maid, love in mind, journey through the past.. Truly a versatile artist.
I don't know any other way to message this to you, but to say you create one of my top two favorite youtube channels, between you and kaptainkritian. Thank you please keep making videos.
The insight and breakdown of your videos of artists and songs is quite remarkable. Awesome channel! Very well done! I just wish you should cover more music. That's my only, one and only complaint
Oh man, when I was in Junior High, in around 1981, I traded a pal The Doors Greatest Hits, for his LIVE RUST, and I've never looked back. First I was intrigued by Sugar Mountain and I am a Child, but eventually the electric sides won me over. Crazy Horse layering massive waves of fuzz blew my young mind.
For me, I like his country/folk rock songs the most. I'm mostly a metal fan, but something about the atmosphere evoked by slow tempo rock and natural scenery combined with serene isolation as played by the Eagles and Neil Young has me hooked. Hit me up if you know of other country rock artists that create the same feeling.
I love your videos man. The subject matter, the research that goes into it, and the graphics are all top notch. Would you consider doing one on my man, Stevie Ray Vaughan?
Neil Young is an original bad ass, an although his acoustic side is completely amazing, when he plays electric there is no one like him, he fucking kills it!!

Fantastic production values, as always! Kudos!
That’s a video I didn’t know I needed until now, thank you !
Pop music: ..... and that was when he started putting his hands on me.
FBI: who?
Pop music: Neil Young....
Do a video on Tom Waits.
To me Neil Young's Dead Man theme for the movie Dead man is the one song that I can always just listen again and again.
I love how these videos are so insightful..keep it up!!
Neil Young is an original bad ass, an although his acoustic side is completely amazing, when he plays electric there is no one like him, he fucking kills it!!
As far as the « long, stretched out and emotional solos », go listen to the soundtrack of the film « Dead Man », especially the guitar solo number 5. 14 minutes of pure Neil Young.
(Watch the film as well, it’s great)
