    Some of those fruits were definitely way more expensive than what you can pay in the US, specifically the Kiwi, wow. I think the trick to keeping the cost low on produce there is avoiding anything imported because the papaya, mango, pineapple, and coconut are always super cheap.

    Compared to Thailand, Brazil would be in a disadvantage in safety, cheap and delicious(food), considering the same fact that English is used in both countries. I have to give up for moving to Columbia because of these three reasons.

      Thailand seems interesting but I don’t think I could live there. English isn’t used in Brazil, especially where I live. Colombian although they speak a bit more it’s still not common at all. Unless you hang out in English speaking expat communities. Which is kinda boring in my opinion. But, to each their own.
      Thanks for watching.

    I found that the markets In Meireles are more expensive than Barra da Tijuca in RJ. In RJ they at least have cheap promotions. In Fortaleza, there aren’t many.

    Man this market is way too expansive...it is for rich people...down here in SP capital...you can shave at least 30 to 60 % off these prices over there..

    Also, does your gf also understand English and speak Portuguese? Are you fluent in Spanish?

      She’s doesn’t speak English. Only Portuguese and Spanish. Yes, I am fluent in Spanish. It came easy because of Portuguese and the same with Italian. They all have many similarities.

    Yes, but what are the actual wages in Brazil? Being a tourist and a resident are two completely different things.

    • @BillyGringo
      @BillyGringo  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wages are very low in Brazil. These prices aren’t cheap for a local and my channel is 100% in English and I am mostly speaking to gringos when I make videos talking about prices and comparing them to countries like the US or Europe, that is why I do the conversion in dollars. Brazilians already know what the prices are in their country. I make a living in Brazil so these prices are that cheap for me also.

    watched some of your vids and still no clue what are you doing for your living, brother…. I have Brazilian PR and aware that life is not cheap at all…

      I guess you'll need to watch a few more of my videos to figure out what I do for a living-I’ve dropped plenty of clues. Brazil is quite affordable if you're earning in dollars, but for locals, not so much.

      Some things are, the sirloin is 60% cheaper than in the US. Imported produced like Kiwi is expensive for sure. Everything other than imported products are around 50 to 75% cheaper than the US or even Europe.
