At our place in WV, if a round bale decides to take a trip to the creek, get out of the way since it will be rolling down hill 800ft approaching the speed of sound and blazing a new trail through the woods. It's gone!
Praise the Good Lord you got you some rain. I hope you didn’t have any severe weather over the past couple weeks. Congratulations on the tractor purchase.
Carl I would absolutely volunteer to come throw bales with you guys seeing this reminds me so much from growing up on our dairy farm In Michigan same baler but did have the kicker hope all is well
I myself prefer the 66 and 68 series because my grandfather had a 1066 and 1466 and my uncle had a pair of 1568's and listening to those V8's roar was just magical
@@spike3082 can’t argue there, we didn’t have 66 series. We jumped from 806’s into the 86 series then to the 88 series, even had a couple of 2394 case series, just always was a fan of red power👍🏻Happy 4th Mike🇺🇸
The IH 86 series are great tractors. I have put in thousands of hours doing fieldwork in our 986 and 1486 tractors. We never had any trouble with them.
One crop you can always count on is rocks. We have drought and had smoke so bad that I couldn't see across the road last week here in WI. It has been crazy. I'm glad you got some rain. We are still waiting. I love that old school baler. Lots of memories for me with that one. Thank you for another video. i always enjoy hearing from you. I do miss farm life. Please stay safe, and God bless.
I was surprised not to see the hydro on the square baler. That was the prime job for ours. To be able to match your speed to the size of the windrow was the key to firm, well shaped, correct weight bales. We liked them so well we had three of them. Told my dad our farm should be called "Idiot Stick Acres".
😂😂 love it! We would have used it but just realized the hitch on the baler won’t fit over the drawbar. I’ll have to make some modifications to accommodate that.
Nice tractor, but I think you were mowing a bit to fast, glad you had some rain. I haven’t seen an old baler like that inAUS for years , great to see some old gear still in use
Got lots of Canadian smoke in NE Illinois the last few days and lately heavy rain. The rain was heavy and I a lot ran off but better than nothing... Is bailing so noisy that some wear hearing protection? I have become a fan of hearing protection. Seen my older friends getting hearing aids. Especially protect the kids!
The same twine knot incident happened with my 14T this year. I always put a dab of grease on the connection knot. It was clearly there when the strings were pulled out of the way for rebale. Bale on!
I love my hydros, I’ve had a 1026 for 30+ years & owned a 186 - exactly like the one you have - for about 2 weeks & I sold it back to the guy I bought it from & then bought 3 Versatile/NH BiDi’s - 2 of which I still have. I had lots of issues w/my 186 - overheating, back tire, AC, Tranny slipping…. But it was sure nice to run when it was working on round baler when it was 100 deg F.
I like that older tractor, it's kind of like me might not be New and Shiney it might need a paint job and body work but it just keeps on working anyway.
Put a 2350 loader on your 186 & you will love it moving bales. Those loaders are 5 min on & off - I wish loaders build today worked as good. I have 2-2350’s I keep around - 1 with hay forks & 1 with bucket. Update your 186 to the newer style high flow rate hydraulic pump - it makes a world of difference. I updated 3 of my old IH’s & will do the rest of them in near future.
you might want to take the muffler out and completely straight pipe the tractor the muffler get hot and can make the paint fade, which i already see there is a discoloration where the muffler is
Glad you finally had some rain! Was a dry spring here in far northern NY, but past 3 weeks has seen decent moisture. Seems like when it does rain, it’s always a downpour, and not a nice steady soaking rain.
just bad luck with the knot on the baler , i was always told a reef not was the best looks like that what you did , we need rain here to in the UK , at last we getting a bit now hope you get some to very soon , love the new tractor , i love a good old IH we have a IH 674 with a loader she gets used every day
I was thinking at the start of this video, it seems like everyone is either complaining about too little rain to too much rain...looks like you made the switch yourself by the end...I hope it was enough and to too, too much though. :) Sadly, we have been in the not enough rain. We did get a good inch a couple weeks back but it was not enough....then stopped after those 4 days of a couple good rains.
I got 2.4" of rain over the weekend. I'm mostly convinced it's because my neighbor, who I help with hay baling, wanted to or actually cut hay. Haven't heard anything yet, but as soon as I do, I'm hard accusing of cutting hay for the amount of rain, no matter how much drought there's been
Nice looking tractor Carl
Glad to see you're getting rain. Eastern Canada has been getting rain or showers almost every day for a month now. Kind of getting tired of it.
Probably the best tractor you will ever own! Congratulations
Thanks 👍
Great looking hay! and Rain!
Thx 4 sharing Mr.Carl, dry here in Northcentral WI too. U fellas R going to really like that Hydro.
For being red it's wonderful.

😂
Nice tractor, we use to own one, in the day. 👍👍
I love it

Good luck cutting and baling your hay Carl
Love that tractor. I’m sure happy for you
Me too!
👍🏻the 86 series IH was always one of my favorites Carl, we had 2 1086’s back in the early 80’s and I loved em.
I myself prefer the 66 and 68 series because my grandfather had a 1066 and 1466 and my uncle had a pair of 1568's and listening to those V8's roar was just magical

Only thing I have against it so far is the design of the doors.

Lol 😂I’ve been trying to make it rain for weeks … and still nothing and almost all my 1st cutting is nearly done … good lookin RED tractor ❤❤
Nice tractor, but I think you were mowing a bit to fast, glad you had some rain. I haven’t seen an old baler like that inAUS for years , great to see some old gear still in use
That’s a nice new tractor, Carl. Great video as always. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks 👍

The tractor is the loud part. You can easily carry on normal conversation back on the wagon.
Those tractors are perfect for produce farmers. Can walk it down to crawl if you have people on a planter. Plenty of power.
Love your video as always. Hope the rain picks up. I love/miss Iowa. The best place to live!
It really is!

Good idea!

Sounds like the one you got had some transmission problems for sure.
Thanks for the video Carl!
You bet!

Much more affordable than a newer tractor!

Definitely may add a loader at some point. We already did the hydraulic pump this spring before we used it 👍👍

Already done! I assume they did it when they added the turbo.
Glad you finally had some rain! Was a dry spring here in far northern NY, but past 3 weeks has seen decent moisture. Seems like when it does rain, it’s always a downpour, and not a nice steady soaking rain.
Fingers crossed!

That era of IH tractors were very well built

Went from being in a drought to having too much rain where I am.

Almost always works 😂
I don't remember getting an update on your neck issue. It appears that everything went well.
Yes I was going to do a one year update but I may have forgotten to do that. It’s working great!
And I thought you were John Deere all the way. Guess I can forgive you this time.
Has A/C?
Sure does!
