Yes, foo fighters was started (Pat, the second guitarist nirvana added in their last months, is also in foo fighters) ...foo fighters was started offically about a year after kurt's death....dave grohl needed to stay busy & sane in the wake of the tragedy of kurt....stay busy & get his mind off of it....& when ur an artist, creativity is the way to go for that.
I think kurt was soloing "robot style" to kind of make fun of himself or the situation, playing an old , popular, nevermind song, & hes just not taking himself too seriously....this is a legendary concert tho, for sure.
Hi Olavita, Great & tragic story behind the band but the song and many others are amazing. I was a Musician in the 1980s and when the news came out about Kurts death it was sad 2/20/1967 - 4/5/1994 Drummer Dave Grohl & Bassist Krist Novoselic & Guitarist Pat Smear
Nice times, back then. Interesting bands, and music happening. A lot going on. 1990s had Great Music, and Great Movies. "Come As You Are" is my favorite of 'Nirvana'
Speaking of how handsome Kurt is, have you seen the Heart-Shaped Box music video? Not the director's cut, but the original vers. Kurt in the last third of the vid... he's a 10/10 just wow.
You get the chills the same place the rest of us do. When Kurt hits those notes with all that vocal fry, it goes right into your soul, and can shatter the windows in your house.
I guess I might be the only person who thinks that Kurt Cobain must've been psychic in some way... BECAUSE on November 23, 1991 Kurt drew a doodle sketch of Freddie Mercury with wings and Kurt wrote under it something like "Freddie Mercury angel". Freddie passed away THE NEXT DAY on November 24, 1991.
The best performance from Nirvana is from their MTV unplugged session where did you sleep last night. His voice during that performance always gave me chills. We had a jukebox in my high school cafeteria and the day we found out he died my friend and I put 30 bucks apiece in it very early in the morning and played every Nirvana song on it. People got so sick of it it eventually got unplugged. We thought it was great and a nice tribute.
The cool thing about Nirvana, back then, was that they were doing what the punk bands were doing in the early 80s. They stripped down to bare basics. At the time, it was refreshing.
A little stanza ode to Nivrana that I put together: "If you ever do anything evil Just be sure to tell someone else first We'll repurpose all your lustful violence And scourge the earth with your bastard's curse..."
What a fucking fantastic performance! I know it's grunge. But I mean hard rock music with this much melody is rare. And to me it's an absolutely flawless song, the build up is amazing, even the simple melodic solo, the yodel in his voice. And Pat Smear to make it even heavier. It's amazing
I’ve always thought Dave Grohl played the drums harder than any other drummer I’ve heard and or seen play! He rocks so hard!!! Loved your reaction! “I felt something weird” is an epic response to come as you are 😂❤
That is Dave and most f there music is a lot heavier. I like the Foo fighters also. Have a great day Ola I leave you with my signature heart and smile❤😊.
If you don't like him standing like a statue, check out the official video for this song. They must've trashed 10 stages to make it. This version is far less triggering for a musician.
There are two things you remember about Kurt Cobain; the first time you heard Nirvana, and when you heard of his death. In between isn't remembered, it's always with you.
Ola, you will love Nirvana when you start to dive deeper into their music! Listen to the WHOLE "Nevermind" album! It's amazing!! One of the best Rock/Metal/Alternative albums of the 20th century! Their last album, called "In Utero" is not as good; it's very dark. Kurt was in a very bad place in his life at the time of that album and final tour, before he killed himself. There are some great songs but I can't even listen to it since it reminds me of his suicide. But, they are an amazing band and Dave Grohl is an amazing musician who got his pro start with Nirvana, as the drummer! He's awesome!
hi pretty little doll, I recently signed up to your channel, you need to make a first reaction video on Nirvana as soon as possible with the videos lithium, sliver, come as you are, Heart shaped box. well done, keep it up
Nirvana was a punk rock band..."grunge" was more of media/magazine term....they did it to bob dylan calling him a "prophet" & the "voice of a genration"....with nirvana the magazines & Mtv invented the word "grunge" to sell magazines & get ratings....unfortunately the term has kind of stuck, but, at keast it helps people indentify the decade. The drummer, Dave Grohl, in an early interview once said "grunge? Whats that? Isnt that the stuff u clean off the walls of your shower?".....anyway, & however, i think the term "alternative music" to define that era also stuck, & i personally prefer that one, but thats just my dumb opinion. i love ur channel, ur so nice & enthusiastic always....& also, great reaction as always: )
@@hognaut , i said punk *rock* to try to differenciaite what was trying to say...i shouldve said a punk+rock n roll (meaning rock, or hard rock)...i cant tell if ur older than me or younger than me, but, its pretty well known by anyone around at that time that pretty much all the seattle people hated the word "grunge" , kurt & many others mocked it repeatedly & continuously ( the same ones who invented the term "yarling" for, & to , mock eddie vedder's, & many others' , style of deep, & drawn out, "grunge singing") ....its a media term, & nothing more, & even tho i probably made a bad word choice with "punk rock" i dont have really any wiggle-room on taking back what i said about the term "grunge" being a total BS media term..., the only people who use it now are 20 year olds from the last ten years to the present, & the only people in the 90's who used it were vapid people who knew nothing about music (jocks & frat boys & cheerleader types), or, if musicians used it, it was musicians who were forming a "grunge" band, to cash in on the media term & try to do what was trendy, & again, make some $$ off the trend....again, these days, with the passage of time, the term "grunge" has unfortunately been accepted, & adopted, by the youth en masse, & the dumber, less conscious, less aware, & uneducated adults (the jocks, cheerleaders & beer drinking sports fans all, grown up), .... *Or* , it is used by adults who are mocking the 1990's (that happened 30 years ago , just as it happens today)... *Or*, adults who just dont care, i.e., who are smart, but dont care about music, or music history, or the history of popular culture, or ones who do but are classical musicians, or opera singers, or something....it is what it is tho, i guess. You van dispute me all you want, but , the countless interviews available these days, on youtube & elsewhere, from nirvana & many, many, many, other bands, prove every word im saying.
@@vincentvancraig WOW, that's a reply and a half 👍 Ime 67 from the UK and grew up on Zeppelin, Sabs, Purple,Floyd, Hawkwind and what we called Krautrock and so many more. I have always kept in touch with alternative music and still am whether it's guitar orientated or electronic ( Underworld are great) Sometimes it's impossible to label a band, I absolutely love Tool, but what genre would they come under? maybe alternative metal? who knows. Thanks for your views buddy, very interesting. I could talk for England when it comes to music, it's not a hobby, it's an obsession!! 😁
This is THE grunge band!
Alice In Chains is THE grunge band and the Goat, imo…but everyone is entitled to theirs. Mine are insignificant 🤷🏼♂️
@@bruno3778AIC for sure. I think both of them are up there.
@@bruno3778why is there always an aic fan with an inferiority complex,

Hes "going thru the motions" so to speak....its a very sarcastic generation, those X'ers, haha.
He always pulled stuff like that... Like when he was mocking Van Helen by "shredding."
The drummer is th singer for Foo Fighters and also a guitarest
Really captivating.

YAY!!! **Luv** **Nirvana** **Kurt Cobain Forever Infinity & Beyond**
The Instrumental sounds like an older 80's song called "Eighties" by the band Killing Joke.
