Winona broke into a million pieces after this man. She was going to marry him, and then after that breakup, she stated she would never get married. The heartbreak she went through completely changed how she felt about love and commitment. Johnny himself spiraled as well, drug abuse and alcohol.. its a domino effect. I still stand by my opinion.. They are were and still are soulmates.
People should have shut the hell up and minded their own business. 28 yearold man and 19 yearold woman getting married actually works out great for both of them. Men mature slower and take longer to hit their prime and women hit their peak attractiveness at 18-24. For thousands of years women were getting married as teenagers to older more established men and female happiness rates were much happier and divorce was uncommon. Now society shames women who want to get married young rather than sleep around until their 30s before trying to get married when they're less attractive, have limited time to have kids, and can't get the same quality of husband as they could have when younger. Then these same old foolish women who slept around and waited too late to get married call men creeps for wanting to marry 19 yearold virgin women like Winona.

Johnny isn't ready to be happy and to be a real partner. He has to grow up and start taking responsibilities by cleaning his life up. No drugs and no more alchohol. He can't grow spiritually while he is doing harm to himself. It will only get worse for him if he doesn't. He needs to realize that if nothing more, as half American Indian, he is allergic to these things by nature. Otherwise, he will die broke, alone and lonely. He will need to connect with the Elders and Shaman of his tribes and be blessed by them and gain a sense of desire to walk the path of freedom of righteousness, to heal his Soul and Spirit.
Wowww love this idea for him to be cleansed. I think the problem is his drugs and alcoholism comes from childhood abuse. If it is so deep,can he really be rid of his old demons? Maybe he uses them as he feels he can't be strong without them. They were in love as young adults and had some kids and then shit went wrong and they got divorced and actually completely cut ties with each for years until an almost death of the grandmother brought them back together and they fell in love again! She recovered and they’re getting married this year!
