Great video! I can recommenced two games, an upcoming one called Incolatus: Don't Stop, Girlypop!, which is a ultra pink movement shooter, that looks amazing! I'm also recommending my GOTY, Sorry We're Closed, which is a super queer Survival Horror with a unique shooting mechanic and great art and characters. There's a demo you can try out, Highly reccommend
Just gonna drop some recs here: Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, The Bunny Graveyard, Slippy the frog, (a bit cozy though) Lunistice, Demon Turf, Class of ‘09, Little Misfortune, Fran Bow, Vividlope The Cosmic Wheel of Sisterhood would probably be considered a cozy game but I feel I should mention it because it’s one of those pieces of media that I feel encompasses being a woman. Some not-so-girly but still total girl boss games: Bayoneta(she is such an icon), En Garde!, Pseudoregalia, Metal Hellsinger Baulders Gate 3 can feel girly too Some that haven’t come out yet: Lost Records: Rage & Bloom and Incolatus: Don't Stop, Girlypop! Very, very girly.
Heck yeah! On Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood - love it; I might be iffy about it’s coziness, personally! A lot of the narrative is pretty heavy, the choices you have to make and the interpersonal repercussions… it could get pretty stressful for me at times hahah. It definitely has a good cozy game proportion though.
@ Your right. The beginning was very cozy but it ramps up in emotions and intensity. I absolutely loved it, especially the parts with her sister. She was unlike any character I’d ever seen and their bond was so sweet.
Sayonara Wild Hearts would be a fantastic addition to this list, stunning visual style and soundtrack, one of my all time favs. To swing back in the totally opposite direction would we count Silent Hill 3 bc Heather Mason is an absolute girlboss
My favourite type of video, someone talking about a super niche kind of video game that they're passionate about! Thanks for all the recs, I hadn't heard of most of these before but I'm a big Old School Runescape girly! Fida Puti Samurai looks soo good
I love cozy games but my faves will always be action, adventure, puzzles, and psychological horror! Lists like these are super important! My fave non cozy girly games are: (just my opinion) Fran Bow, Alice Madness Returns, Adventure Escape Mysteries (seriously this game series needs more recognition! It is like 40 games by Haiku Games), Contrast, Flipping Death, Life is Strange series, Little Nightmares, Mirror's Edge series, and don't forget that some Nancy Drew games are legit terrifying! I've also been really into Infinity Nikki because it's not just a cozy game, it has a lot of different elements to it.
Great list! I recommend Virgo Versus the Zodiac for its great story and soundtrack. It's a pixel art style turn-based rpg with a cool battle system and a lot of equipment customization
I’ve gotten into the Atelier RPG series with the Ryza line of games, and have been playing Atelier Resleriana, the series gacha that involves characters from across the franchise. Love these games, I would say “girly” for sure! Character casts are largely femme-forward; there’s a lot of character-driven story and character development as you go; a lot of wholesome supporting one another. Add to that the gathering, dungeon delving, crafting, and world-saving and you’ve got some really solid and heartfelt RPGs. Ryza 2 was my first entry (not counting Mana Khemia, years before) and I think it hit best for me of her games line! Big time recommend!
Honestly the only girly game that has really scratched the itch I've had lately has been Infinity Nikki. Though yes, it is more marketed as a cozy game, but it's Cozy in the way Breath of the Wild is Cozy. You're still fighting enemies - though they're mostly one-shot trash mobs and the bosses are defeatable in under a minute if you're used to action RPGs. But it Almost gets there, what I long for, crave, is a good, unapologetically feminine (which Nikki is, no doubt, brownie points there) hack n slash magical girl game, with really good combat and enemies that actually provide a decent challenge.
i love all these recommendations this is what i never knew i needed! i did struggle to find the third game but it's actually called going under also if you like old game vibes check out cloudpunk! that one surprised me it's not particularly girly but the vibes are great
It really is still sad that girly aesthetic games are still supposedly "not good to make" or people can't figure it out..but like cozy games are so broad that it does encompass what used to be considered "girly" games. Idk people underestimate girls and women consumers all the time when so many of them play the most insane, quirky and mainstream games.
Have you played the atelier games and/ or blue reflection? They’re girly games that I really enjoy but I don’t consider them cozy games. Although if you don’t like crafting maybe atelier isn’t for you
I can't recommend "Infinity Nikki" highly enough. Though the tagline is "coziest open world", it is more of a platformer/rpg and unapologetically feminine. It's my personal GOTY, you can feel the love and attention to detail oozing out of the screen no matter what you're doing in that game. IThere is a gacha system, but it's not predatory with how it's implemented. If you like zelda, animal crossing, mario, spyro, genshin impact, then highly recommend
It's not super girly, but Laika: Aged Through Blood is a game for the girls! It's been a long time since I've encountered a game that talks about the experience of being a woman so well, while still being super hardcore and bad ass! It made me cry many times, you should definitely check it out
Fida Puti Samurai is too fun. It is categorized as a roguelite, and honestly an addictive one. If you dig that, the def check out World of Horror. WHile not girly per se, it hits that itch pretty well

You might like Sayonara Wild Hearts. An infectiously fun pop rhythm game. Short, sweet, and polished. I liked it.

Ooo Go Go Town looks so fun. I’m going to play that
