We ended up using a Canadian bank to lend us money to assist with the Mortgage. Being able to assess buying and saving patterns from checking accounts I think is definitely a tool that should help establish an individual credit worthiness. Next step we should be able to leverage the credit history we have from another country, even more so between Canada and the US.
