I've heard and seen Karl being very difficult to work with. But he really comes off as patient and kind in the interviews I have seen with him. He's only answered the "why Egyptian" question 5,000 times by now. To be great at something I think you can't always be flexible/easy so maybe his reputation is just a result of that.
Karl, my dude! Almost 60yo, still be one of the most impressive metal geniuses of all time! Cheers from the R-country wich is forbidden now! Always with you. Always supporting. Hope once I would release an album you'll check out))
If im not mistaken, I believe to this day, he is currently the oldest person playing Death Metal music but gained notoriety in the scene late. Niles debut came out in 98 with some demos released a few years prior. At that time, Death Metal has already been around for almost 15 years. So Karl was a late bloomer but if you compare his age to the old guys in the scene, hes the only one in his early 60s. I think the only other is actually Pete Hamoura, with Trey Azagthoth trailing not too far behind
Nile are probably the best death metal band ive ever heard. They actually write memorable songs that you can tell apart.
what a cool dude. Truly a humble guy who seems like he can connect with anyone. great interview.
What a chill dude

I've heard this too. A tour bus driver told me about it. I was shocked. Regardless, my favorite metal band ❤️.
I also heard this from the drummer of devourment.
