The very first time I watched Fushigi Yuugi, I had this wish to be inside that magical book with Tamahome... and when I watched this again I still feel the same. This anime never gets old. Lovely and magical forever.

Fushigi Yuugi is Yuu Watase's 'magnum opus'. I have never seen an anime that made me cry for the characters like this story does. I love Watase's story telling and art, but most all the way she brings her characters to life. n_n
Completely concur with this comment. Just rewatched it the past weekend since 16 years ago on a whim, and it feels stronger than ever. This series is a true gem. Compassion, love, betrayal, utter loyalty. It really is a classic.

This song played when Miaka saw Tamahome while Taka was with Tasuki sleeping in a room somewhere. Then her memories with him just sort of flashed back. I love that scene. I love Miaka and Tamahome. My love for this anime will never fade. :))
