    The New Jersey Civil Service Commission held the application period for the 2022 NJ LEE Statewide Civil Service Exam from January 3, 2022 through February 28, 2022. The NJCSC is expected to send each applicant an email in April 2022 with a link to a scheduling platform to select a test location, date, and time from a long list of options. The testing is expected to be administered around the state over a seven week period in May and June of 2022.

      If you completed the online application for a standard NJ LEE symbol number for an agency that doesn't require a college degree (Parole has the only degree requirement), then nothing needs to be submitted. The NJCSC uses the Online Application System (OAS) for all types of non-public safety jobs as well. Many other types of jobs require college degrees, special licenses, or certifications. That is not the case with the NJ LEE. With the NJ LEE, once you are in a hiring process, the individual agency will collect all of your paperwork as part of the department's application and background process.

      New Brunswick PD is part of the statewide NJ Civil Service system. The exam for New Brunswick is the LEE (LEAB) which is a single exam only administered every three years for all of the civil service police departments in the state. The 2019 LEE will be announced on July 1, 2019 for applications to be submitted by the end of August with the exam being administered from September through to early December at sites through the state.

    Is the Entry Level Written Exam the same as LEE? Specifically asking about Tewksbury Township

    • @ccstestprep264
      @ccstestprep264  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The LEE is specifically the NJ Civil Service Commission Entry-Level Law Enforcement Exam which currently involves the use of the LEAB exam (329 questions over 3 hr 40 min). Tewksbury Township PD is a non-civil service "chiefs" department which uses the services of the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) to administer a version of an IOS exam. The tests are completely different and have nothing to do with each other.

    • @ccstestprep264
      @ccstestprep264  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each test is different. The different test-writing companies have varying ideas regarding the profile of a good law enforcement candidate. Likewise, there are question types and complete sections on the NJ Civil Service LEE that do not appear on any of the current "chief's tests" being used in NJ. The civil service LEE is 329 questions in 3 hrs and 40 min while the most common chief's test is 87 questions in 90 min.

    • @ccstestprep264
      @ccstestprep264  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's one of the better opportunities to get in and through the academy in Ocean County. Even if it is with the intention of eventually transferring to another agency. There has been some turnover with officers doing IGT (lateral) transfers to some of the local police departments. They have held several hiring cycles and worked down the list through all of the veterans and into the high 90's of non-veterans. Hiring was delayed on the last list a little due to the hiring of non-civil service officers under the "Investigator" title, but they are now consistently hiring from the civil service list. I expect they will need to hire on a consistent basis to maintain their numbers.

    • @ccstestprep264
      @ccstestprep264  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NJ LEE (written test) is civil service, so the process is different than the non-civil service selection testing wherein some agencies require a passing PT assessment up front in the process. Under NJ civil service, the strict PT requirement comes after you are hired and enter the academy. If you score high enough on the LEE , you enter hiring processes. If you are hired, then you are scheduled to attend a police academy. The NJ Police Training Commission (PTC) has a PT test that must be passed within the first 6 weeks of the academy. If a recruit cannot pass the PT test, then that recruit is removed from the academy. The PT exercises are: push-ups, sit-ups, vertical jump, 300 yard run, and 1.5 mile run with a minimum passing standard set for each.

      You should have immediately received an email receipt from the "Government Services Payment Portal" once you submitted your payment of the application fee after you completed the LEE application online. Likewise, you should have received an email stating that your online application is confirmed from the NJ Online Application System. If you didn't receive those emails, log back into your NJCSC online account and check to see if your application is still in your account as incomplete. If you haven't received the emails and your application is already submitted, then go back to the online announcement on the civil service website and you will see an email address and a telephone number for the Online Application System (OAS) support staff.

      Living in Jersey City gives you a great opportunity with this exam, as they hire more than most other departments. The exam is as described in the video. It is very long and tedious (329 questions in 3 hrs and 40 min), so make sure you read as much as possible (start now), so your eyes and mind are conditioned more to avoid fatigue on test day. I am currently deployed with the army, scheduled to be back in New Jersey around December 15th. Is there any extension for deployed servicemembers?

    • @ccstestprep264
      @ccstestprep264  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NJ Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) does accommodate testing for service members but you must make sure you take all of the right steps. I recommend that you complete the online application before August 31st to ensure you get your application in on time. The application period opens on July 1, 2019 and will close at 4 p.m. EST on August 31, 2019.
      Then, once you have properly applied, contact the NJCSC and work on ensuring you are cleared to take the test at a later date as needed. Otherwise, as with all candidates, you will be able to choose from a long list of test locations, dates, and times between late September or early October into as late as the second week of December. The process is going to involve candidates being sent an email in September to use an online portal to pick their test location, date, and time from a long list of options on a first come, first served basis. If you need an even later test date, then you will certainly need to work through the NJCSC to set that up rather than picking one of the available dates.

    • @ccstestprep264
