  • Does the addition of an aftermarket / upgraded INTERCOOLER (whether a PRL intercooler, or Mishimoto intercooler) to our Phearable Stage 3 ECU tune & PRL HVI add any additional horsepower and torque to our 10th Gen Honda Accord project car? Let's find out how much performance the Phearable Stage 3 off the shelf (OTS) ECU base map w/ the PRL High Volume Air Intake (HVI) and a Mishimoto Intercooler makes on our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring project car! Will the upgraded intercooler add a substantial increase in horsepower!?! We put our 10th Gen Honda Accord - a 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring project car on a DYNOJET dyno to find out if PRL and / or Mishimoto performance intercooler delivers as the manufactures claim. We'll routinely dyno test mods on our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring as we continue on our Honda Accord's modification journey - next up, a PRL high volume catted downpipe, PRL Flex Fuel (ethanol) kit, custom ECU tune, you can help decide...

      Just add the Phearable Stage 3 and enjoy! I have a 21 Accord 2.0T Touring. I PRL HVI and I have 6 speed upper mount & Hasport lower mount. I have JB4 Map1 stacked on Phearable Stage 3 running E30 blend with 93. Traction is limited to say the least. CAI don't have the bang/buck factor of old. What issues?

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randomares infotainment constantly going black and restating, Apple CarPlay disconnecting randomly and not working when trying to use Google maps and iTunes at the same time, two check engine lights after trying to remote start the car on hit days, transmission hunting for gears, and the kicker for my case was my car had done sort of accident at some point despite having a clean CARFAX. But the biggest of all for me was the drivers seat discomfort. For me, not enough front legroom and the bottom cushion was the hardest, most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever experienced.

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @169 Design - I’m sorry to hear about all the problems you had with the Honda - I’m sure that was frustrating and disheartening 🙁. What do you think of the Elantra?

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheLemonFactor yes it was very disheartening. I did so much research on that car and flew in to buy it. I thought it was going to be my car for the next 5-10 years. I may have just got a lemon, no pun intended lol.
      Part of the issue of comfort for me is I’m 6’3”, so enough legroom and seating support are a hard combo to get in anything other than a full size car or SUV. The Accord was just too tight for me. I read they sacrificed front seat legroom for rear legroom. I think the Touring seats are probably leaps and bounds more comfortable than the Sport seats too, so if I had gone with a Touring 2.0T instead I may not have been in the same position, IDK.
      I love the Elantra. It’s an entirely different experience driving than that Accord. I heard someone sum it up best comparing it to the Accord 2.0T by saying the Accord is a family sedan that can feel fast, but the Elantra N is a fast car that can feel like a family sedan. It’s just way more dramatic and fun. It’s not nearly as refined as the Accord, but I’m ok with that. In Eco mode it’s decently quiet and a comfortable enough ride. Feels like a regular Elantra I’m sure. But in N mode it really does feel like race car for the street. Almost like a poor man’s M3. It’s an absolute blast. Luckily I found one local selling at MSRP, so I jumped on it.
      I haven’t posted a video on my channel since selling my Charger R/T, but I’m thinking about starting to make content again. Maybe a comparison between all three cars since they’re similar in some aspects (4 door sedans) but completely different in others.

    Chad, I agree with u about elevation and naturally aspirated engines need less octane. However, with boosted engines (turbo/supercharged) a turbo will compensate for altitude and will produce nearly the same hp as at sea level. All that boost making nearly the same hp needs the same octane. It’s the high cylinder pressure that drives octane requirements. There may be some margin built into your 93 octane tune that lets u get by on 91.

    • @Toymonkeyjr
      @Toymonkeyjr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, the timing is definitely retarded on 91, whether that hurts the car or not is up for debate.

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Todd Rey - while turbocharged engine can compensate somewhat by increasing the boost, they still can’t add oxygen to the air. At just about 6,000ft the estimated power loss compared to sea-level is a whopping 20% less!!! With that said, remember that the dyno results are standardized for altitude and other environmental conditions. In actuality I’m seeing ~20% less power 😒

    Hey Chad! It would be interesting to see if you would get any gains on a stock engine. I recently purchased a 2019 touring 2.0. Only mods I made so far are lightweight Wheels with summer Tires, rear sway bar by progress technology. With the summer Tires I get no wheel spin and the lightweight Wheels reduces inertia and I can feel a difference in power delivery. I would like to try the K tuner but like many I am nervous. I don't go around racing my car but I was playing around with a Chrysler 300C with the Hemi and I was able to slowly pull on him. This guy was driving like an ass and I think he was so pissed that he kept on accelerating probably well over 100 miles an hour towards an intersection. Anyways I wanted to mention this because I think it's impressive for a 2.0 to pull on a 5.7 l Hemi.

    Besides the Full Race, Wagner or C&R intercoolers which will all run you well over $1000, The Mishimoto is the way to go for the 10th gen platform. They did it right when it comes to size. The Mishimoto, Perrin and PRL are all great options but the Mishimoto beats them all by a little bit when it comes to readily available popular brands. I wouldn't tell anyone to buy their intake lol but the intercooler was done right

    Chad - please define “heat soak “. Thank you

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keeping it simple, and in relation to the intercooler videos... "Heat Soak" is when the intercooler can't keep up with the cooling demands placed on it. Whether from your environment (high air temperature), your level of boost (you've increased boost levels), or you're placing a high demand on the intercooler (repeated WOT runs, followed by the car sitting with no air flowing over the intercooler), all will tax the intercooler to a point where it's unable to effectively cool the charged air. If it's bad enough where the air going to your engine is too hot, you may experience detonation, or at least reduced engine power output. Hope this helps.

    Awesome Chad. Your car is making some good Power!
    I'm getting my PRL intercooler put in at King Motorsports. I just don't have the time to tackle that. They told me they would not suggest even doing a downpipe or front pipe cuz it's not going to make really any power. They're a pretty reputable tuner shop here in Wisconsin. However I would like to see if that's true and then obviously check it out on the dyno what are your thoughts about that?

    • @TheLemonFactor

      Well, that’s what we’re all about - let’s see what a downpipe really can do🤷‍♂️😁

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
