What a wonderful thought on sharing the wedding expenses. Why should the bride’s family bear all the wedding expenses? People who claim to be feminists should propagate thoughts as this rather than fighting to enter sabarimala. Dowry is by and large not a major issue in the forward thinking societies but it is in disguise - wedding expenses, jewelry, etc etc.
One doubt.. when Bhishma carried away the princesses Amba, Ambika, and Ambalika.. under what category would the marriage fall under? Of the 8 marriages prescribed by the Shastras.. Wasn't Bhishma doing a adharmic act by stopping the Swayamvara? And he also wasn't the groom.
Dear Dishyanth, my humble pranams. I have a doubt regarding the history of Karna. As per my knowledge, (as told by my grandparents and the source is unknown), Karna was in fact an asura who was called Sahasrakavacha (1000 armoured one given by Surya Bhagawan(, who had a boon that he could be slain only by the one who did penance for a 1000 years and the one who killed him would die immediately. It wa Nara and Narayana who took turns to break all the kavacha or armour worn by this asura. The sahaja kavacha of Karna was the last one. Is this mentioend in Vyasa Bharatha? Could you please enlighten us on this in the remaining of your Upanyasams please? Thank you for your fantabulous upanyasams on various subjects and the one on Mahabharatham for me stands out the best.

As I understand, the upanyasam was only for 5 days. Mahodaya completed only 7000 slokas out of 1,25,000. When he comes back to Trissur, he will continue from where he left off. (That's what he says in the last few mins.. let Pandavas grow for a few years and then we will continue)
