wow what can i say ,what a fantastic farm the land was superb to detect on, apart from me and my daughters love tokens the other finds were amazing we had the pleasure to hold that roman coin first time ever, and also the axe head was a honor to hold it a first again and to think we all walked over it to get in the field at the gate , big shout out to Graeme and Gaz they did a top job in mels absence get well soon ,and lastly the farmers were lovely people interested in the history as much as us cant wait to go back to that farm so much more to do
Great finds what an Axe , pity we live in Devon , but one year looking forward to joining you on a search , was thinking the lovely silver piece maybe off a baby rattle ?
If you look very closely at that pair of silver love tokens, the one on the left appeared to have some very small writing engraved into it. Unless I am seeing things
believe it or not the markings appear to be tooth marks you can just about make out a bust of William on obverse on both love tokens when i saw the marks at first i thought the same as you did well spotted though
Fascinating finds ! From across the pond ,cheers !

Marks for sure but not engraving, sometimes on these worn milled coins you can get signatures etched into them
Some Braw stuff found there Graeme well done cracking wee dig, is the little bit of silver from a Victorian teething ring with the coral bit missing?
Quite possibly hugh!
what a stunner of an axe, once in a lifetime find. HH
