I have to clarify this video is NOT meant to push an agenda. Political ideologues, the religiously zealous, and people like you and me can intimidate others in attempts to silence, change, or censor. It is not exclusive to any specific group!

@Why the long face? 'Censorship' doesn't get clicks on TH-cam hence the use of cancel culture in quotatios. I understand its not 1 to 1 comparison. If you understand the game that's how it works. It's about what gets a response and I put this video up because I felt the message rod was sending was beneficial and wanted to make history applicable and relevant. Clearly the term cancel culture has a stigma towards the left but on the contrary the video is about a religiously zealous person or potentially group antagonizing a TV network over crap that doesn't matter. Being upset is redundant. Really this is click bait. If you watch my videos most are to bait the right but have moderately left wing views. So if this upsets you it doesn't make sense to me.

Rod Serling was amazing man who spent countless years fighting racism, oppression and injustice in America. We need more people like him today more than ever! If you don’t know much about him please look into his life and his body of work.

    • @Jo2Go

He had integrity and spoke about covering social and political issues in his work. Spoke on his beliefs whether it was popular or not. I respect that a lot. We need more like people like that.
I wonder how he would feel about social and political issues today as what is socially exceptable and the culture have seen change but humanity hasn't. He was for including dialogues about racism and politics in media and in person. Today a lot of people are opposed to politics in film and tv but Rod Serling felt it was necessary and spoke about it. I find that incredibly interesting!

@@Jo2GoThere's a huge difference between feeling obliged to address actual racism and social injustice in the late '50s early '60s and the woke virtue signalling that masquerades as social justice talk by entertainment celebs today.
EDIT: I'm going to repost my response to Jo2Go's response to this comment because he cowardly has removed them.
      Here goes:
Your homework assignment is to look up the word "strawman".
I never said racism doesn't exist today; you hallucinated that. I said there's a huge difference between the sorts of things Serling wanted to comment on (e.g. the lynching of Emmett Till) and the short of woke pandering that postures for social justice commentary today.
The equivalent of the puritanical zealots writing letters to television studios complaining about puppy births on TV in Serling's day are the woke left zealots complaining about anything they deem offensive in media and elsewhere.
You have a lot more in common with the people concerned about puppy births on television in Serling's day than Serling.
Much of what is characterized as "racism" in 2024 is 'racist' in the same sense that showing puppies being born on "Lassie" was 'burlesque' or somehow perverse or pornographic etc.
Thank you for proving me old adage true that when you point a finger at someone else you point 3 back at yourself.

Sad how relevant it still is today, but he said it all so well. Such an amazing man, I’ve wished many times he as here so we could hear his thoughts. His takes aged really well in my opinion but that can't be said about everyones of the time. I think it's easier looking at politics through a historical lense. Since you're not dealing with the same divisive discourse on a day to day it's easier for people to seperate themselves and opinions to see things more objectively. A lot of takes, perspectives, and ideas aged like milk but every time I watch a Rod Serling interview I'm able to look at things from the context of the time and then apply it to see how things have changed or how many things remained. Nothing new under the sun. Fascinating stuff. I'm young and have not lived through things he speaks on and even still it feels very applicable in a modern context. Just because you are given information doesn't mean you will contextualize it properly and it seems this comments section shows a variety opinions and ideas. It's interesting.

There was nothing wrong with the series. Cancel culture just needs to get off of it and come human beings and realize that it isn't all about them. Nobody else is worried about it. Isn't it wonderful that some people can just change history by getting rid of it. I feel sorry for children of cancel culture and what about me generation will bring into the world. Yeah... I think if you disapprove of the state of the younger generation you should look at who raised them. Generally it seems young people are struggling in this economy. It's easier to think that the older generations who spend all this time complaining about us run the world which we inherited. It's unfair though to judge anyone based on age. I'm under the belief there is nothing new under the sun and people as a collective don't change. Maybe individually.
