Bad review. I've owned several mid-sized luxury sedans, and after watching this, I am very dissuaded from buying an E-class. A "night club" look? Dude, know your demographics. Interior lighting was atrocious -- too many lights were lit up and too bright during the entire time -- very distracting. For example, the seat adjustment buttons stayed lit, the door-window controls, etc -- even when he didn't use them.
He obviously could not purchase this vehicle, especially having a fairly narrow garage -- he could barely back-out, almost hitting the side mirrors. Probably he's a salesman (they can borrow vehicles, for familiarization) and he made this very bad video.
Not only the colour scheme is adjustable, also the interior lighting intensity can be adjusted from 0-100%.
3:40, the seat adjustment buttons stayed up, but, they are very minimal in light compared to the rest of the car anyway.
The ambient lighting is something you can turn On and Off..!

ITS ME but you can put off the ambient lighting and the seat control lights...
ITS ME You know the window and seat controls stay lit for the convenience of finding them in the dark....

The E-Class key does have a battery in it and the key does not get charged. The space is there for starting the vehicle when the key battery is discharged.

What does it charge if it doesn't have a battery?
I have this exact car and color. It’s awesome on the road and I have driven from the Bay Area Ca to Bend Oregon on a single tank each way.
I love the glide mode feature where it drops to idle at highway speeds so you can coast for miles when you have the speed and room. It idled most of the way back through Shasta when I wasn’t climbing the hills.
I have used the auto park a couple times just to test it and I don’t use most of the extras other than the active blusters and seat massagers.
You can display the HP and TQ on the radio so you can see what it’s putting out and I see the HP hit 260 all the time.
Honestly after working on the engine and seeing how tiny the turbo is I am shocked how much power it puts out. Doesn’t compare to my 7.3 modded diesel truck but it’s for sure a road car.
I don’t have the 4MATIC but I do have the 19” AMG wheels and Sport PKG and it’s still a comfortable ride. It has great stopping power as well with the 6 pistons in the front and you can get more power. They sell a chip and you can also increase boost by adding a controller on the vacuum line that controls the blow off valve. Getting it to 300hp is easy and only cost about 40 dollars.
As for the ambient lighting I have it on and I just reduced the brightness on the radio screen.
I would for sure recommend this as a commuter to anyone who can afford it.
Let’s be honest it’s a benz. I do all my own wrenching from tune up to repair. I fixed the P06DA error myself and that requires pulling the oil pan. It’s about 500 to service the transmission if you buy the parts yourself and doing things like the plugs is an easy job. I did the plugs in about 15 minutes.

Those headlight options are incredible. I'm very impressed with that car. Even though Mercedes has downsized the motor from a V-6, the 4 cylinder turbo I'm sure is more than sufficient.
Not only that, the previous iteration of the E class was not that impressive as far as ingenuity and updated design. What I like about the new E class more than anything is that it looks just like the S class, just smaller. Even the inside, it has many of the same features as the S class. You get more for your money on the new E class, even the seats are the same design.
Is the e 300 luxury the same on the inside?

All have the big digital center screen. Most of them sold in the US have the analog gauges on the left, but there is an option to have a second screen(same size as the center one) on the left instead. If you get that you have 3 different layouts to choose from.

Cadillac has an actually LED strip ON the door handles which I much more prefer. It just makes more sense and more luxury.

It´s a accumulator - so you don't have to switch batteries if they are empty.

I have a 2008 E350, and I was told not to change from C to S while car is running, or is that only for "older" models? Also, do you know why they come with only one smart/ fob key?
I just got my E 300 yesterday and it came with two key fobs. It's perfectly fine to change modes while driving, so if that limitation existed before it's gone now!
What year model is your E300? So, the dealer ripped me off in case of the fob keys?
Faraz Ghatan 2017, "luxury" instead of "sport". Was yours new or used? If new it should always have two fobs. I assume given year it was used, in which case it's probably that the prior owner lost one of the fobs.

There is no battery in the key but it needs charging. Lol how you sound?
Obviously he's talking about the physical replaceable battery, like in most key fobs...this one is just like a smart phone with a battery that can't be removed, so you charge it.

Speedo and Tach display in my E-Class is different?
Hein S Do you own the 2017 model? They offer two speedo and tach display options. One consists of one screen that extends to the infotainment center and the gauges are automated. Another has one smaller screen and physical gauges like every other car.
This looks like one of the cheap models that is sold in the us market that has physical speedo and tach.

Awesome car man , it sucks that all the other interior light colors are weak! They need to fix that shit so all colors are vivid.
Two observations. One, would rather turn off those lights. Adds to the visual noise and makes warning lights less noticeable. Two, not terribly keen on the engine sound.

Sorry dude but that isn’t a port key charger least in my e class it isn’t! You have to change the battery in the key like all other. You need to google and research this!!!

This is a luxury car, the lighting is from the S-Class which so many people loved. The car sits between the S and C class so that is why it has the same lighting. I think it looks incredible. I had the car for a couple days and I really loved it.
Jeah these lights don t look very elegant at least these colours but I really like them if you put it on white.

I love interior lighting but even for my taste this is way to bright.
you can turn down the brightness as much as you want. I got it set on red but turned down the brightness so its a nice mellow red or whatever color you want.

personally im not a fan off all those silly coloured LED lights, i think there just gimmicks that increase the price of the car but aren't actually needed, when i look for a car, i want something well made, fast, and drives smooth, you just dont need all these fancy electronic lightings and all the rest, there just increasing the value of the car because there spending more on it adding those things that dont really increase the performance of the car.
Different people value different things. I appreciate the tech of the car, the autopilot, the comfort features, etc. For me having a bigger engine would be a complete waste and make the car cost more and not add value because I don't drive it that hard.
No single car model can please everyone, and MB is targeting this version of the E300 at people who appreciate that sort of feature and don't care as much about having top performance.
