Congrats on working with zZounds! The Line 6 Pod Express is a cool idea - for $179 you get a sampling of the Helix universe. I could picture people getting one of these and then one day upgrading to a Pod Go or HX Stomp. I think it's a lot of product for the money.
I think that might be an excellent practice amp with onboard sound effects and output for headphones and computer recording. It seems bit difficult to use on live situation even if you have the sounds you need stored.
@@GearGasms And I tried the bass pod on my bass rig... and same end-result. A little fussy and lots of options but not really customizable like the HX.
@@chrisb3976 Call it what you want. The question was if it's a "tool or toy." That particular toy has no place in my toy box. I wouldn't want a pedal that more than likely is sharing the same circuit between all the effects in the pedal. I prefer a variety of tones that comes out of independant and functional performing pedals. I wouldn''t gig with my toy 'Spark' amplifier, but it's fun to play with at times in front of kids. Most multi-effect pedals I personally consider to be a toy. They are not reasonable to use while performing and having to make bedroom adjustments as you "toy" around with it on stage, or try to find your settings on the fly. At the same time, I'm always telling the kids to stay away from my toys when they get near my rig. Rock on.

Sold! I just ordered one with your link. Great video and great demo Alan. Great riffage during the sound demos! Thanks.
Awesome! If I didn’t already have a PodGo and the Mooer Ge250 I might have bought it! Thanks for the kind words and let us know how you like it!
I also proudly use lots of Line 6 stuff - I really like the POD Express. So simple to use, sounds great, and fits on my desktop.
🤘🏻
I was curious about this one. Good review and I think you showed me all I needed to know. Congrats on the deal with Zounds.
Thanks Bart!
Another great video Alan, congratulations on the Zzounds thing keep it brutha ,your humor had me in such great mood me and the wifey had relations😂
Well that needs to be on the promo sheet lol!
I really loved the tone at 8:13. Really nice and powerful.
It is capable of producing cool tones for sure!
If you listen Cream album "Disraeli Gears", the solos played by Eric Clapton pretty much have that sound.
Happy Friday Alan.🍻
You too! Getting some much needed rain here!

Thank you! I agree it is a potential gateway drug for the pricier Line 6 stuff!
Line 6: the MOST influential electric guitar gear company in the last 28 years. So influential that the biggest names have been following since🔥🔥🔥
As an original AX2 owner yeah! I like me some Line 6!

I feel the same. I would be intimidated trying to base a live rig around this.
When do we get summer here then? That's my anguish.😁
I’ve been watching Wimby since I’m off this week and a tennis fanatic- and there has been a ton of rain and more than a few actual coats on some days.
It looks like you have the DIST knob set on "overdrive" for all of your tones. Was that on purpose? Is it coloring the raw amp sounds?
It doesn’t matter where the physical knobs are as you go preset to preset unless you change them. So it’s not “on”. Or at least I didn’t think so?
@@GearGasms Right ... in preset mode the knobs don't matter. Makes sense.
I believe that presets 8-21 are blank user slots.
lol yeah I found out the hard way and decided to leave it in!
Pretty sure there is no editor App for the Express. There are rumors this might materialize, but it'a no more than that right now.
Hmmm. Could have sworn it says there was? I’ve been wrong before so thanks!
You said there is an app you can use with it - not as far as I am aware. Please give details.
Google this: app for line 6 pod express
I tried it out in hopes it would blow me away but fell short. Took it back and bought a used kramer 😂
That also works!!
I tried it out when it came out. Cool but not for me :) Happy Friday!
Thanks you too!

@Smart-Alex yeah I wasn’t super motivated to use the app with it but you could likely dial it in more then but that can be cumbersome when it’s not BT
swiss army knife
Yeah and it’s red too!
Definitely a toy. Congrats on the Zounds deal!
Thank you!
Might as well call all stomp boxes "toys" then since they're boxes with sounds built in.

The best toys!
They are all toys to me since I don’t gig; but I get your point!
