Very good points on the 'FBA0' and 'Diaspora' issues, however......and as over-the-top as the FBA issue might seem, it does offer FBA's a degree of 'protection'....if that makes any sense.
      Let me explain.
When people from other countries immigrate to the US and have to live amongst African Americans, THEY DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES.......(the Puerto Ricans with their flag colors attached on EVERYTHING) and Black peoples from overseas; some of them go even farther as not even wanting to identify as being apart of the Black race.
.....so if FBA designation seems over-the-top immigrants started this practice. They always want to distinguish themselves from African Americans. Always.
Immigrants began this practice of being 'devisive'.
Also, when it's an award they're winning or time to receive honor or praise, they want to identify within tribe, home nationality, or ethnic identity but..........when they push someone onto subway tracks SUDDENLY they're 'BLACK'. They do something bad like attack a Chinese, SUDDENLY they are indistinguishable from Black Americans or FBA's.
.....and the news Media will make them indistinguishable from African Americans ONLY when it's subway crimes or attacks on people.
.....but when it's time to accept honors and accolades.....
......so the 'FBA' designation..........has it's.......uses. It can always be said that "No. If you commit a crime, no. You're NOT one of us. Keep that same energy."
.......but, ultimately, the FBA issue is only that because none FBAs made it an issue for decades. From the moment they step foot on US soil, THEY'RE NOT BLACK, they're something else.
      This has always been.
Ironically, THE ONLY TIME wherein immigrants will denounce their race or home nationality is..................if to say that they are a Britisher, an American, a German, a Swede,.............
They'll ONLY relinquish their racial identity....if to claim the WHITE IDENTITY.
...they are PROUD of their heritage when to the opposite of Blacks
....but....when opposite to Whites, they drop their heritage with a quickness and run...........gallop......to the White identity.
      This is what I've noticed.
Shame for their identity is only a thing when amongst Whites. When amongst Blacks they love their identity.
Put an Asian kid in a classroom full of White students.
Put that same Asian kid in a class full of Black kids.
      Thank You.

I am not religious or a Christian. I used to be Jehovahs Witness, but I had to leave when they told me that I shouldn’t go to college. At the time I was a 19 year old single mother living in subsidized housing and on food stamps while working a low wage job. I couldn’t look at my beautiful baby and not give him the life he deserved. I quit the church, went to college and became a registered nurse, I got married to a non religious man and had more children with him. My son graduated from college himself, my daughter is in her last year and my youngest plans to go for nursing as well. We have over a million in retirement, emergency funds and a nice home we purchased. Religion wanted me poor and obedient. It tried to rob me of my potential and a good life.

I had to watch this video in little bites as it made me extremely emotional. Because just today, my husband and I were having a serious conversation about whether we want to reintroduce our 10yr old and family to local churches knowing the mountain of hypocrisy of the very violent religion that is Christianity. The answer is we won’t! So now we are thinking of other ways to teach him to find grounding without religion. For now we’ll start by getting out into nature and hopefully the new way forward will become clearer over time. Thank you both this open discussion. You two are so beautiful and smart.

I feel that sometimes people use religions of all backgrounds to escape the realities of life. I am a woman of faith, and I love my relationship with our Creator, yet at the same time I realize that I have certain responsibilities that I have to follow, and I can't just put everything in "God's hands". I have to be willing to do the work to make sure that I'm a healthy, happy, whole individual.

I left Christianity years. As a Black woman I've never did like going to Church. My Parent's were Baptist, however my Auntie brainwashed me as a Teenager during the 1980s. Towards joining her Apostolic Holiness Church. She said that the Baptist Church people were still in the World. Meaning they were unsaved Sinners. I have so many negative experience involved with that Holiness Church. My Auntie and the Church members scared the bejeeper's out of us. I remember that HUGE portrait on their Church wall of a Caucasian Messiah. And all of us shouting and praising White Jesus. Whelp fast forwarded towards the earlier 2000s. I began studying with the Sabbath 7th Day Adventist Church. And notice a picture yep of White Jesus and the 3 Angels message pictures of them all being Caucasian. I said What The! Also they are fascinated with Ellen G White writings. I said I'm out. I believe in God. But not any Religion or Churches. Nowadays I'm over all the brainwashing CULTS.

I was in Ghana and shocked at the images of white Jesus that were everywhere. When I mentioned it to my Ghanian friend, he stated that there was still a spiritual component with Christianity. Nonetheless, to be able to accept and praise a white man as God indicates a total lack of history and knowledge of self. It has to be physiologically damaging.

It was a great and critical conversation to be had as there has been an emergence of so called faith based platforms led by AA’s and others in the diaspora and/or the continent that are well immersed in Christian teachings and are inimical to any other opposing ideas. As a matter of fact, they promote judgmental world views of African spirituality and its use in Haiti’s fight for independence. A guest on the Highly Initiated platform noted that Haitians are suffering today because of their practice of Voodoo. Moreover, your guest needs to be reinvited for Part 2 as, in some instances, she was spoken over and was not given opportunities to interject her thoughts and expand on her ideas. Hopefully, I will not be blocked as I do realize that you the host of this platform have much to share and teach as well. I learned much from what you have shared.

Your reading is not the way it was understood since ancient times and it is Jesus who define what is Christian value, Paul was defining it for the people living in that time and space he was addressing to.
Christianity was no political power at the time when Paul was preaching and it had no power in policy making. Christian theologians, thousand years ago detested slavery in their writing. New testament Bible canon is bases on suggestion by a black church father named Athanasius.
Col 4:1, Paul advises members of the church, who are slave masters, to "treat your slaves justly and fairly, realizing that you too have a Master in heaven."
      Galatians 3:28.
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
Slavery used to be the way in ancient world, That world had no place for kindness or compassion so Christ taught a value system that broke those and empowered minds to imagine and work for an egalitarian future. It was allways the Christians who worked for these rights as pioneers even though slavery was the normal practice all across globe in ancient world.

A different perspective: What if the oppressed saw the oppressors appearing to live their best lives while they suffered and said I want to live that life? The oppressed think, "Let me do what they do and believe as they believe so that I may be blessed like they are and move away from my oppressed state". I think that might have been the psychology around why a lot of conversions were successful. The oppressor, however, never actually shared a way to get out of the oppressed state. The reason why some countries like the Japan may be harder to convert is because they are not oppressed and do not long for what the oppressors have.

I really really enjoyed this video's topic! It gave me some new perspectives: how can Christians be the only true believers in this world, with their lack of empathy for others that leads to some many of their tendencies that have no connection to Christ and His teachings. I have asked myself when God is going to be gracious enough to relieve us of the oppression of the white devils. I believe that blessings happen now and not in the great by and by! I do not believe that I wish to follow Christianity any longer but to believe in God and do the right thing. Christianity makes me look at people as liars, especially in the church. And yes, they still voted for Trump and see him as God-like. This video has made me feel a bit freer and less blasphemous! Thank you and Tammy!

Bravo!! This video really knocked my socks off! I never thought that I would see two black people, who were exposed to organized religion, speak so openly and honestly about how it was used to manipulate and control not only the enslaved Africans in this country but other peoples throughout the world. I recognized this channel because I was thinking about becoming an HR Specialist, I suppose that is why the algorithm displayed this video, but I never thought I would see content like this. I apologize for not knowing your names, but one of you mentioned that your parents gave you the freedom to make your own choices in life. My parents back in the 1960s, did not raise me in any religion, they said they wanted me to find my own way. This gave me the freedom to examine human history without bias. I have always been intellectually curious wanting to understand the origin of things like technology, languages, and different cultures.
Unfortunately, with the limited amount of space in this comment box I can not fully elaborate on some of the things I have learned during my study of human society that have a direct bearing on this topic. Since I retired five years ago I have started to dabble in some of the social media platforms. I have not tried TikTok because I thought it was about to be banned. Are you planning any live steams or online forums that would allow the audience to participate in real time? This is a topic that deserves further discussion.
I am going to subscribe to your channels, and see if I can figure out TikTok so I can follow you there as well. Looking forward to your next video.

I appreciate the bravery to take on religious discussions. I think people are deterred from asking questions and I believe that leads to the detriment of our society. In my view, the religious practices I have examined all have common threads in ethics. The basic standards or common threads have been corrupted through the desire for power over others. I do not believe I can comprehend God's "mind" nor do I believe that is what we should focus on. I do believe we have examples in all religions of how to treat ourselves and each other. Sacrifice, rituals, transcending (spiritual to human and human to spirit), etc. are found in major religions as well as traditional religions. Having a choice removes power and it also removes responsibility and accountability. Freewill is a birthright, the consequences are our lives. Good or bad.

I've watched and find that I agree with the perspectives shared. I'm a follower of Jesus Christ as well (I happen to believe that the historic Jesus was indeed a Black man, too - not some blonde, White-presenting person). The propagation of religion, particularly Christtianity as it was discussed, is harmful to minorities (speaking from my viewpoint as a Black American, not as a member of the global majority). What I recognize is that sublimation was/is its aim. It was used to subjugate us, and our present-day beliefs haven't strayed far from this artifice. [I think it's extremely important to note how Black American evangelism turned this into empowerment, despite the subversive and antithetical aims that some White proselytizing enforced.] Whites who levy this approach to universality among Blacks are the norm, not the exception, as demonstrated through the early historic teachings of Jesus and His life. The infusion of zealotry and greed has perverted The Gospel, in my opinion. That began at the inception of the church, but took on a whole new meaning of exploitation during the Era of Colonialism. It's still evident in this era of imperialism and neo-colonialism.

    • @Soulsonsix
      @Soulsonsix 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

@OpinionatedNomad , sure. Revelation 1:14-15 describes His appearance.. this phenotypic description more closely matches a Jew from the region, one who is most likely considered to be Black in today's estimation. Add to this the following: Jesus (as a child, and with his parents) dwelt in Egypt unmolested for two years - meaning, they easily assimilated with the population; and in a tongue-in-cheek comparison with attributes sometimes derogatorily made of Blacks, He loved to eat and to be among friends (to "party", in the common parlance of today's understanding) even as He conducted His ministry while on earth. This may be yet unproven as I write it, but it undergirds my belief in the true Gospel, the good news intended for us all.
