The setup automation and hydraulics are a bit overkill. Personally, I'd leave the solar tracking feature in place, but implement manual unfolding/storing of the unit. How much of the battery power are you using in order to unfold/refold the system? You could have also made the unit even smaller by implementing a scissors-type unfolding system instead of hinge folding.
I agree. I love automation, but setting it up manually would take a minute or so. If you put it on a car, for example, why carry more dead weight. Just unfold it yourself.
Thats a great design and execution. The only problem with these expanding/tracking solar systems is their cost and complexity isnt justified by the increase in output. The simple answer is almost always the best... just add more cheap panels. Something like this would cost the same price as an array with 10x the output.
I don't know if you're actually checking this anymore, but have you thought about creating a scaled-down version of this for Vans and RVS? There's a huge market now of people who have converted camper vans to live and/or work in. Even without the sun-tracking tech, the ability to have panels fold in on themselves 6-fold would be incredibly useful. If they folded down into something discreet, it would aid in people "stealth camping" at night, not to mention being able to deploy just what you need to meet your power requirements, and not having to worry about debris scratching them when they aren't in use!
Hello SleepyGuard, Thank you for your feedback. We are working on a manual system that would accommodate smaller panels as well as larger panels. Will keep you posted as to the progress.
Thank you OH8STN. Yes I agree, video could and should be better quality. We did this as a quick demo for a client. In the future we will make a better quality marketing video. Cheers!
Hi, thank you for sharing I have questions about the weather conditions because Im living In Calgary so we have an average of 9 with heavy months of snow.
This is really a good idea. Are you designing something similar for flexible solar panels or foldable panels?, ( No glass ones which are thicker and heavier) panels and may be a smaller device like the one shown here can fit in the trunk of a car or mini van. Thanks
I need a folding system like this for a sailboat, where wind profile needs to be low. Maybe even one that lowers below deck. The boat i'm looking at has a crew cabin at the front, can you make one that moves up and out of a hatch and then unfolds? do you have this demo unit still? It looks like a good size for my project. I think if you partnered with a sailboat maker you could really get a foot in providing oem units for install in sailing yachts. If there were widespread awareness it wouldn't be a huge jump to consider that demand would drive the market into adoption. I'm considering a sailing youtube channel with my family and looking for unique ideas to sensationalize as a part of it. Maybe we can work together to achieve something here.
This is Great... but how much should it cost??? It looks expensive and difficult to produce... would love to see this on any home World Wide!!! Because there is enough Sunlight to produce enough power for every one... there is only one Problem... the sun does not send you any bills
Hello Mason, I have reached out to you a couple times via email and they always bounced back. We are working on a manual system so will keep everyone posted.
10001 view! Anyway. Since no reply to any other comment, I guess too busy to sell it to retail or even answer questions posted. Does it have snow protect mode? Does it have high wind protect mode?
Hello Jason, Thank you for reaching out. To answer your question, these units can be fitted with any sensor input to collapse the unit. I am not sure about a snow sensor but for wind, an anemometer signal can activate a down function. These units are intended for industrial, NGO or Gov organizations. The cost is on the high side to be attractive to retail applications. Feel free to contact us by filling out the form on our website, this is the best way to communicate. Thank again.
Dude, put wheels on it and garage will automaticlly open/close. Put a sensor outside garage for sun detection...system will be fully automated to go outside by it self....sick mang
hi can i have the programming code and things that i need to built this..i have to do a final year project so i want to built this thing but in small size..can you help me?
Hello Athirahaziman, We typically do not share the programming code unless you purchase a system. However, I can advise that this is written in ladder logic and managed via PLC. If you understand ladder than you can understand the steps required.
But I would srsly love to have this in an RV or homemade camper. Imagine the faces when pulling that out of the camper & then unfolding it. Having almost 1200w on the roof just for the fridge & then this for everything else. You'd be lit set for anything.
Hello Candice, Your power requirements are dependent on a few factors starting with your daily demand. Please visit our website and send a message. Look forward to hearing from you.
Seeing their website still doesn't have a page dedicated to this solar system 6 years after posting a video, I am a firm believer it will never will produce any power :) As many of these solar product go, the product looks good on paper, but fails to materialize into the market. And, these small panels will never produce anything close to 1800W. Judging by the same of the garage door, the total area of all 6 panels is perhaps 60x80 cm? A quick calculation would make that a grant total of 100W of solar power, let's give them 200W for fun sake. I also fail to see that the engineering could scale to 6x300W solar panels that would easily get taller then the average sized human. Not to forget wind loads increase drastically with such a large sails.
Hello Darrell, Yes we are selling these units. Please contact us directly so we can see if there is a product that meets your needs. We look forward to hearing from you.
now just give it a recycle plastic exterior for waterproofing sell them as an add on to a relief shelter package you know what just talk to tenfold engineering and the Nasa lunar greenhouse project cause I have a feeling that and instant house instant power with flatpack furniture dried mystery meat and hydroponic bee free vegetables is something that a lot of people are going to need in the near future if not now AK

I can't lie that tracking feature is awesome!!! Imagine 4 of these on a solar car!
Nice! Perfect for mounting on top of a small trailer box.

@@essasystems5894still waiting for ur update on dis too🧐... or did u guys jettison d idea?
If a little bit more effort was put into this video it would have been viral. This is a magnificent system

Love the design.
Hi, thank you for sharing I have questions about the weather conditions because Im living In Calgary so we have an average of 9 with heavy months of snow.
Does the 30 percent increase in efficiency accounts for the power used by those servo motors and the micro controllers? Thank you.
Wow that is fantastic - imagine a roof rack for a tesla like that.
Good setup. Thanks for sharing!
Where did you buy support
Is there a tutorial for the same?

How to make the same design
What's the weight?

The RV market would kill for this.
check out the PRICE!
Unless you drive all day and set up camp at dusk.
That is really great!
Thank you Fessit.
Very nice ❤
Wow🎉
Wouldn't doing it manually be more effective & quick than auto?

Can you tell me what is the size and power of the single panel?
Excellent
is this system sold somewhere?
Please make a detail video of this folding system

Nice job!!!!!
Great system. Are you going to produce that system for retail?
Hello Senor Dockman, We are designing a manual system geared more towards retail clients. Will keep you posted with the progress.
Please let me know too once you it in production. Thanks

You definitely don't need 1200W just for a fridge.
@@lameduck1690 I was kidding obv.
how to purchase ?
I am interested in buying this product. Let me know.
Wow 😮 👍👍👍
Amazing, what is the cost, can i get in India.
Price please
omg, take my money!
Would i need more output for power to run a tiny home

Not a chance this thing produces 1800 Watts
Glaub ich nicht das werden 245w panels sein. Aber die idee ist gut

if you want to sell this to the military for 'deployment', you will have to paint it olive green and charge a million dollars a piece.
Do you have a white paper?
Excellent, but pneumatic and electric movement? Naaa
Pneumatic: one system too much and failure chances too high. But good job
Bet it costs in the thousands
I am your 345 number subscriber
Not selling them yet
