Hoooo boy... I decided to treat myself this black friday/cyber monday and got this setup to upgrade my old am4 prebuilt. This exact combo tbh. I am soooo looking forward to seeing what this looks like on my new 180hz monitor as compared to my old 1080p monitor running off the rtx 2060 and 2700x i am replacing.

I have 2 suggestions : make 1080p.1440p 2160p separate. Meaning all games 1080p in a segment where it goes one by another. We're not really intersted in fps comparisons between resolutions as much as we are interested in stats on a single resolution. 2. Keep the logo/name of the game u play somewhere on screen or add it in the timeline in youtube. Thanks for your upload!
@@jello5508he’s not technically wrong since nobody knows if amd or NVIDIA will pump out better value gpus so it’s not smart to buy this combo 2 years from now
in 2 years am5 cpus will prob be much cheaper so prob best to go with that :D as for gpu my friend using rx 6700xt for almost 3 years now and he still rocking 1440p , for older games hes well over 80-100 fps+ for never games he just put on high to get steady 60 fps ofc with fsr its well over 80 fps . soo im sure rx 7800xt will do great in 2 years and will be rocking all games with nice fps , maybe not some crazy unreal 5 engine games that will come out in 2 years but with mixed setting u will be still good for years with that card :D
@@NukesAH0Y I didnt watercool. I just used Kombo Strike 3 and it boosted higher and lower temps. But i dont know if it runs smoother or no, its the same as stock
@@Ladioz I know mine was stuck at boosting 4.3ghz an 86C I put thicker thermal paste on it. Dropped it 10c now boost to 4.56ghz. I know it’s very touchy on temps but if you can water cool it with a pre kit. It will boost even more performance I never seen amd since am3 make a monastery cpu till now 😎
@@NukesAH0Y Mine is between 55C - 64C in games. Im uinsg Dark Rock 4 air cooler. It stays 4.5GHZ always while gaming. if you have MSI motherboard, use Kombo Strike 3. if you dont have MSI, try to use curve optimizer in the bios and make every core -30
I think this combo would be great, i would buy also new RAM like the Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz maybe 32GB. But does it affect something that i have just a b450 tomahawk II board?? because of pcie3.0 not 4.0 and should I buy a completly new setup maybe with am5 and an other cpu or should I stay with my b450 and buy that gpc and cpu in this video?
No, pci 3.0 can take 1-3% fps in rare scenario, but 32gb RAM can be very helpful, i see strange bottleneck in TLOU in 4K (and FSR), and i think this can be because 16gb RAM

Iam still struggling If I should wait till like a half after the prices of motherboard and cpu drop and then buying a new AM5 motherboard, new ram ddr5 and new cpu or should i upgrade later my am4 cpu i dont think thats worth for the future isnt it? I'm looking for a GPU to upgrade from rx 5700 XT with a r7 3800x. I plan on upgrading everything later but how will the 7800 XT run on the old ryzen 7 chip ??
Your build is almost exactly the same as mine lol. only difference is my ssd is a 1TB Kingston m.2 and different brand of RAM but it is 3600MHz CL 18 16GB. But same cpu, gpu and mobo. Although unfortunately my pcie 4.0 slot just stopped working about a week ago, the pcie 3.0 slot kills your 0.1% lows and causes micro stutters. Also, consider upgrading your RAM to 32GB, 16GB with this setup seems inferior from what I've seen from other benchmarks and experienced myself
A Deepcool AS500 plus (in description) that's an okayish aircooler. If you want a good one for this CPU: One of Thermalright's dual stacks, Noctua or Deepcool Assassin. But first you should take a look into curve optimizer settings. Gives you a cooler, more efficient and better performing X3D. Mine i.e. never hits 60° while gaming with a TR Phantom Spirit and 70° max in cinebench.
I have the same setup that he have except i have 32Gb ram and i have way more fps, i played A Plague Tale Requiem recently and on Adrenaline i have 286fps average in 1080p (i need to upgrade my screen setup, but with my 240Hz it's so smooth). Also in Hogwarts Legacy max setup without ray tracing i have 201fps average. I didn't overclock anything, my gpu is a Gigabyte OC and my cpu never got overclock the only thing ik is that my cpu is a golden chip wich perform more than expected like he go by himself at 4.8Ghz
I currently have r7 5800x with rx 6600xt and I was thinking to upgrade it in next 5 years for gta 6 including a 2k monitor, what would you suggest me rx 7700xt or rx 7800xt. I’m in a budget so I have to make sure not to spend too much so that’s another problem too 😭
8 gb - small. 12gb - 2-3 years maximum, 1440p - 1 year and 1080p - 2 year. Gta VI выйдет на PC не ранее 2026, начало 2027. Либо вы сейчас берете 7700 или ждёте 2026 что бы поменять GPU. mine gets like 60-70 in my corsair 4000d and I haven’t even undervolted it you can use pbo2 -30 on all cores and should be able to take off 5-10 degrees
@tiqulz I did just that yesterday. Undervolted for 0.0125. Now at full load the cpu is at 76 and in Cinebench it almost has the same score. Something like -30 ... 😁👍✌️

я кстати играю на этой видяхе в алана 2 в разрешении 2к+ 3000 на сколько то там точек) с fsr качество...выходит апскейл с 2000 на сколько то там...в целом fps даже в лесу отличный и стремится к сотке...в более легких локах всегда выше 100...и я вам скажу так...никакие лучи не сделают картинку такой приятной и так много фпеес в этой отстойном по систем требованиям игре)
@@GamesChoices You got to remember GTA 5 was released more than 10 years ago and it took ages for PCs at the time to catch up. We'll have to wait and see but I bet Rockstar Games is gonna require a beast of a PC for GTA 6.
@@drfggdsd5251maybe try verifying files, resetting shaders in amd adrenaline, installing game on a ssd ( if its not already), setting game priority to high in task manager, also turning off xbox game bar ( if it is not already).
Do a complete uninstall of drivers and reinstall maybe go to a previous driver as the drivers can occasionally be unstable never experienced myself a issue

Cause the game is unoptimised asf and also the most demanding game to date any car struggles in it unless you got the 7900 xtx or 4090 and the xtx is same price as the 4070 ti super

Between that and the monitor upgrade from 60 to 180 refresh rate its like a completely new system.

@@virajsingh4010have a 7800xt, so no driver issues at all, only when you overclock you can get on some Games driver timeouts
Perfect combination for a 1440p non rtx setup. 5800x3d is a miracle considering AM4 is almost 8 years old.

it wont tech moves fast so this gpu might just be replaced with a new line of gpu
Don't listen to the person above me, this GPU has 16gb of VRAM which is going to last quite a while and won't start to become an issue for a while.

@@jello5508 VRAM is not everything we dont know for how long this or any GPU will be fast enough to provide good performance in games.

@@Ladioz I know mine was stuck at boosting 4.3ghz an 86C I put thicker thermal paste on it. Dropped it 10c now boost to 4.56ghz. I know it’s very touchy on temps but if you can water cool it with a pre kit. It will boost even more performance I never seen amd since am3 make a monastery cpu till now 😎

I think this combo would be great, i would buy also new RAM like the Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz maybe 32GB. But does it affect something that i have just a b450 tomahawk II board?? because of pcie3.0 not 4.0 and should I buy a completly new setup maybe with am5 and an other cpu or should I stay with my b450 and buy that gpc and cpu in this video?
No, pci 3.0 can take 1-3% fps in rare scenario, but 32gb RAM can be very helpful, i see strange bottleneck in TLOU in 4K (and FSR), and i think this can be because 16gb RAM

Your build is almost exactly the same as mine lol. only difference is my ssd is a 1TB Kingston m.2 and different brand of RAM but it is 3600MHz CL 18 16GB. But same cpu, gpu and mobo. Although unfortunately my pcie 4.0 slot just stopped working about a week ago, the pcie 3.0 slot kills your 0.1% lows and causes micro stutters. Also, consider upgrading your RAM to 32GB, 16GB with this setup seems inferior from what I've seen from other benchmarks and experienced myself

A Deepcool AS500 plus (in description) that's an okayish aircooler. If you want a good one for this CPU: One of Thermalright's dual stacks, Noctua or Deepcool Assassin. But first you should take a look into curve optimizer settings. Gives you a cooler, more efficient and better performing X3D. Mine i.e. never hits 60° while gaming with a TR Phantom Spirit and 70° max in cinebench.
You need to use curve optimizer. Recommend-25 or -30 all core
It will make temps in 60~ in game

i think it would be fine 4k taxes more the gpu so as long as you dont have an ancient cpu you should be fine.

I have the same setup that he have except i have 32Gb ram and i have way more fps, i played A Plague Tale Requiem recently and on Adrenaline i have 286fps average in 1080p (i need to upgrade my screen setup, but with my 240Hz it's so smooth). Also in Hogwarts Legacy max setup without ray tracing i have 201fps average. I didn't overclock anything, my gpu is a Gigabyte OC and my cpu never got overclock the only thing ik is that my cpu is a golden chip wich perform more than expected like he go by himself at 4.8Ghz

I got 80% gpu usage in Spider Man with 5600x and 7800xt in 1440p. In 4k with fps lock game feels much smoother.

mine gets like 60-70 in my corsair 4000d and I haven’t even undervolted it you can use pbo2 -30 on all cores and should be able to take off 5-10 degrees
@tiqulz I did just that yesterday. Undervolted for 0.0125. Now at full load the cpu is at 76 and in Cinebench it almost has the same score. Something like -30 ... 😁👍✌️

@@drfggdsd5251maybe try verifying files, resetting shaders in amd adrenaline, installing game on a ssd ( if its not already), setting game priority to high in task manager, also turning off xbox game bar ( if it is not already).
Do a complete uninstall of drivers and reinstall maybe go to a previous driver as the drivers can occasionally be unstable never experienced myself a issue
