Albert Zabel's "Am Springbrunnen" (At the Fountain) is a beautiful piece that takes advantage of the harp's ability to conjure up running water (its publication precedes Hasselemans "La Source" by a year). Sheet music can be found at imslp.org/wiki/Am_Springbrunnen%2C_Op.24_(Zabel%2C_Albert)

What luck! I just picked this piece up at the Camac store a couple of weeks ago. This video will be very helpful - thank you!!

Nice lesson on memorizing this, Josh. Have you done the middle part on a Harp Tuesday program yet? I was able to feature and perform this piece from memory on a couple of programs I did before I completely retired from concerts this year! The middle part, although it sounds simpler, was the worst part for me, with all the pedal changes. Best of luck to you in performing this in the future!

If you were memorizing something in a time crunch would you memorize at the same time as learning or learn the piece first?

I am not a classical harpist but have been playing 30 years! Never had a lesson! I spent the christmas holidays listening to your Vivaldi Winter and I am wondering do you ever go to Edinburgh harp festival or give lessons in the UK?
