For anyone having problems getting the water inside without leakage: place the final dirt (for the roof garden) and break 2 windows to get inside and just place water underneath the garden dirt blocks. for the stairs around the rims of the larger section: break the stairs and place dirt, add water under those new dirt blocks, break the dirt and replace with stair. I had no leaking with this method. Super fun build, super cute, the GF loves it !
was just about to post asking thiis question. THANK YOU! because i started adding fish (knowing it was FULL) and one died. so i panicked and got out lmao
i used the dark oak slab instead of the dark oak trap door to put the hanging glow berries on that are above the little side garden. for some reason i could put the glow berries with the trapdoor. also, i used the glass blocks instead of panes because the water leaks. still looks great. hopefully this helps someone lol

the Aquarius He turned out very beautiful Thanks for teaching me! I did but I replaced the glass panel with normal glass because water was leaking but other than that it was perfect thank you so much for teaching me One team!
So, I'm on bedrock and also cannot hang things from trapdoors. But I found a neat trick that I learned from my boyfriend about string: You can place carpets on it (he made a weird contraption and used string and carpets). That apparently includes moss carpets. If you place a line of string in front of the top row of glass panes, the moss carpet can go on top. It's not exactly as nice as the panels, but I just thought I'd mention the trick anyway, as I kinda like how it makes me feel like the panels got covered in moss (I forgot I have my base in a savanna biome, so I literally am struggling with green not turning brown and dead). If anyone is curious about how I worked around the savanna issue: Azalea leaves, moss blocks (instead of the grass-topped dirt), and for personal preference I used mossy cobblestone slabs around the base. For the grasses, I ended up having to use flowers (white/orange tulips, azure bluet, and lily of the valley). I may add more to this upon completion. Edit 1: For some reason, bonemeal also spawned corals. I did not place them. I'm not sure if it's because I'm so close to a body of water or the biome I'm in, but I got free colorful coral in my tank. Edit 2: The rooftop garden I opted for lilacs, roses, and cornflowers, as well as the peonies used. I also swapped the azaleas for the flowering azaleas (the former blended in too much with the moss blocks I had to use yet again). I also used a single jungle trapdoor for any future axolotl placement or interior adjustments (so I wouldn't have to keep breaking a moss block and possibly accidentally break something I don't want to). I actually placed it catey-corner to the top middle center bush facing down towards the long section of the aquarium, so it's right in front of the stairs and looks kinda like a little door or makeshift chimney. Honestly, it's really cute and works perfectly. Final notes: I honestly am quite pleased with using the moss carpets upon seeing the final results, as they just look quite unique and go quite well with everything else. And the string is pretty much almost invisible at any angle. People might have forgotten as to why I listed the plants used, so I shall put this here as a reminder: I accidentally built this in a savannah biome, making grasses pretty much useless, as they turned brown and dead upon placement and ruined the vibrant aura that axolotls emit. I felt this information might be useful for anyone else, even if the biome isn't the purpose. I am extremely new to Minecraft, so I'm not sure if all of this is pretty much already known or not, but meh.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. I always wanted to have something for my little guys to live, and you helped me a lot. YOU DESERVE A SUBSCRIBE!
I would always make my house and put waterlogged slabs with the 1/2 space of water as the floor so the axolotl can swim wherever and then a room filled with water and coral and stone. All dat fancy stuff. It works on the server I'm on and cuz axolotl are valuble, u can display them
They love clay, tuff & stone, I know I went & checked out where they live under the ocean now. I totally would go with a different block but the design is cool.
I did this build on stream and spent a few hours doing it. I was really excited watching it all come together, however after spending over an hour filling it with water...it continued to leak through the windows and the wood, I was unable to fully fill it. Am very disappointed with this and I really think this should have been explained properly in your tutorial, how did you fill it with water?? I spent so much effort and time in this only for it to fail. I guess I'll have to empty out the water and turn the structure into something else....thanks
Mine did this too, but I was able to fix it, the stairs seem to be the problem, so fill the whole thing, whichever stairs are leaking, take a block, replace the stair with the block to stop the water, then quickly break the block and put the stair back, that completely fixed mine, oh and filling the long part all the way won't work because of the stairs on the very top, so just replace with a block until you put the water in then switch back to the stairs. Hard to explain without showing you but I hope this helps a bit 😁✌🏼
Same thing happened to me. Do not place water while aiming at glasses/planks cuz that makes the water leak. So what I did was I used moss and place 2-3 mosses inside the aquarium. I then placed water on top of the mosses then add more mosses and put water on top of it. Do this until the water “balances” itself. Problem solved! I did this in bedrock & survival mode. Takes time but it was worth it :)
i just freaked out bc i was so excited but mine did the exact same thing when trying to fill the water. it ruined my surrounding garden from the flood. ugh. i’m gonna be trying again and i can’t wait to have the finish product
Thanks I needed this ^-^ I'm kinda lazy so instead I just put square windows I just needed what to put inside my aquarium bcuz when I enter my axolotl pool to check on my axolotls all of them were dead
I don't reccomend doing this build at all, just a waste of time and materials. There's no place for them to breathe so they will die after 1/2 das and for some people the water will go through the thin windows or the stairs, and not everybody has mods to place the berries on trap doors
wdym? Axolotls breathe underwater and last time I checked.... the whole thing is made of water so they won't die after "1/2 das". It depends how you place the water, don't place it directly on the glass pane block and the stairs have to be waterlogged so shift while placing them. And idt you need mods to put the berries on the trapdoors but idk I haven't tried. All ik is there aren't any other mods other than replay so... idk where that came from lmao
@@puerry i did the build and the axolotls do die after some days and mods are indeed needed ((depending if you have java or bedrock)). And the water leaking out is something that others have experienced too if you go deep into the comments ((just checker now and somebody recomends using glass blocks)) . My friends also tried doing it to see if maube I just built it from but it came out the same to them except for one who ended up using mods aswell

Be aware: do not use glass panes. At all. Your axolotls can swim into the air gap they give and suffocate to death. Instead, use glass blocks.
Thank you! ❤ Had this problem and made a little pond aside aquarium until I found a fix for my missing buddies! Glass blocks not panes!!!
So this build is useless then? ....

amazing, the aquirium looks better than my own minecraft house
Now, imagine if you can waterlog the plants from lush caves: azalea bushes, moss carpet, cave vines. It's so much better. :

Cool design. Make it larger and I would totally build it as a base. Yup that's the plan.
